Chapter 14

Closing her eye's Minerva waited for Lucy's blow to hit her, she wasn't going to move out of the way, after everything she had done to Lucy during the Grand magic games, she figured that this would be her punishment for it. When she didn't feel any blow, she opened her eye's slowly and saw a man towering over her with his back towards her, black tattoo's down his arm.

"What are you doing just standing there sabertooth? Move out of the way!" he gently but forcefully threw Lucy back, but she didn't hit anything, she had skilfully backflipped and landed on her mothers gravestone, snarling at him for getting in the way of her attack. Minerva blinked a few times and moved slightly so she could get a better look, blood was dripping off his right forearm.

"Damn it blondie, that actually hurt, why are you doing this?" he spoke, but she just let out a loud growl, "She can't hear you spark plug, when she's like this her wolf instinct take over, she's full of anger and rage at the moment. Something that should always be avoided." Spoke Minerva, "how the hell did this happen?"

Taking in a deep breath as she kept an eye on her young friend, "she finally cracked, with everything that's been happening the past few days to her must have finally gotten to her, but we need to calm her down, snap her out of this rage she's got built up inside of her. This is why I want that bastard dead… to free her from it."

Laxus didn't get another chance to speak as Lucy charge forward using her agility to get the upper hand, aiming for Minerva but Laxus pushed the girl out of the way, "BLONDIE! STOP! YOUR GOING TO KILL HER!" Lucy didn't seem to have heard him as she landed a kick in his stomach, sending him flying backwards. "Damn… how strong is she really?" "in this mode? 10 times stronger than what she already was,"

"Well how the hell do we calm her down?" they jumped out of the way from another strike Lucy was about to deal them, "Last time, she managed to snap out of it before even striking me, but back then when it happened, it was due down to her father forgetting her birthday again. She snapped out of it by Kane coming and spending the day with her, but this time Kane's the one that added to the fuel that was already building up inside of her."

Laxus nodded "Can you keep her distracted? I'm going to try something." She gave a slight nod and stood up "Lucy! Here over here!" she ran to the left, as Lucy's cold gaze followed her, just as she was about to jump, Laxus wrapped his arms around Lucy's waist. "Enough Lucy… that's enough… I'm here… no one is going to cause you any more pain I promise." She struggled against his grip around her, "please Lucy… remember I love you…"

After a few more minutes of struggling against his grip, she finally began to calm down, her wolf features began to resolve back into human form, "I love you too Laxus… " her eye's dropped a little from exhaustion, until her head hit his shoulder. He scooped her up bridal side and walked slightly till he was in front of Layla's grave, the blonde dragon slayer bowed his head slightly, "I swear down, I will make sure she will never have to experience pain ever again Mrs. Heartfilia, I will make sure to always keep her safe."

To the side, Minerva smiled slightly at the sight, 'so little Lu has found someone that loves her, about time…' she stood up and walked up to them, "Let's get her home… so she can rest and also to get that wound on your arm cleaned." He nodded slightly to the sabertooth member and began heading towards Lucy's apartment, which wasn't all that far away from the Magnolia grave yard.

At the guild, Kane was sat down at the bar with a glass of scotch, his head down in his hands, "She… she had all that done to her? And she never told me?" he was pulling at his hair, thinking on how much of a useless brother he was to his only sister. Mira placed a hand gently on his shoulder, "Kane you need to understand it's extreamly hard for someone in that kind of situation to just openly speak about what had happened to them. I'm just as shocked as you are, she's hid this from every one for so long."

Raising his head slightly and looking into his soul mates eye's, "but I'm her older brother, I'm supposed to have protected her from this sort of thing! What kind of brother am I if I can't even do that! She most likely hates me now.. I wasn't thinking straight when I came in with that box. I didn't think on how she'd feel when asking her how I did." He suddenly felt a bop on the head, turning he saw Team Natsu standing there.

"We know how you feeling dude, we was her team but yet, when I was taken over by Zeref, I couldn't help but hurt her, and as I'm trying to make up for my actions now, they don't seem to be any helpful… not when she has Laxus now…" Natsu sighed and sat on the stool next to Kane. "You made her wait too long Natsu, sometimes when you love someone they will wait, but you made her wait way too long to the point where you lose them." The wolf slayer spoke, clasping a hand on the guy's shoulder.

Natsu nodded, but his face cheered up, "that's okay, I'm happy as long as she is, but in order for that to happen this bastard that's made Luce cry so much is going down!" Mira smiled brightly, "I agree with you Natsu, once all this is over, there is going to be a wedding to celebrate!" she grinned. This caused Team Natsu to look at her crazy, but Mira held up her hand and there sitting on her ring finger was a silver engagement ring. Erza straight away grabbed her hands, "Please let me attend your wedding!"

Mira couldn't help but laugh, "But of course I'd want you to be there Erza, you've been a friend of mine for a long time! And also my Rival, actually I was wondering if you would like to be one of my brides maids, Lisanna is my maid of honor, and Lucy is also my other bridesmaid." Erza couldn't help but let out a bit of excitement "I accept! I accept!"

Over at Lucy's apartment, she had been laid on the sofa, while Laxus was sitting at the table his arm wrapped up in a bandage thanks to Minerva. Who was currently taking a bath and had decided to raid the girls closet for fresh clothing after that little episode Lucy had back at the graveyard.

He was thinking back to when he stepped foot in the graveyard and sensed the power that Lucy was radiating from her body, it was at a very high frightening level, he was shocked that she would just randomly attack Minerva, although she did have a good reason due to the grand magic games, but the girls had gotten past that when Minerva had apologised to her.

Out of instinct he had jumped in front of the sabertooth member to try and protect her, when Lucy had clawed his arm, he was surprised on how much it had hurt and hadn't torn his arm completely off. He was just glad other people wasn't around at that time otherwise, they may have notified the police who would have also notified wolf hunters. That would cause even more trouble that his girlfriend didn't need. She was already under enough stress with this WH that kept popping up and sending her these torturing gifts.

As his thoughts was plaguing his mind, a sudden gold light began admitting from her keys, and a female voice rang through the kitchen, "what the hell happened!" Laxus snapped out of his thoughts seeing the one spirit that loved to try and drowned her master, Aquarius. He looked to her, "what are you doing here?"

She looked to him giving him an hard glare, "I'm here because 1, someone has to find out why she hasn't been summoning her spirits lately and 2 we can all sense a lot of fear and pain from our master. I decided to come and kick her back into shape" he stood up from the table and walked over to the spirit, "Listen here fish girl, she doesn't need you to bitch at her at this moment in time not after all the crap that she's been through in her life. Or didn't you hear what she told me back at the guild or was you on a date again?"

Aquarius looked to him, and sighed as she knelt down next to the sofa, who had actually changed her tail into a pair of human legs, "Yes I heard everything, i saw everything actually, us you see here, 'dragon slayer…' us spirits and her have a special link to where we can know our masters past. Know how she feels about us spirits and how much she loves us. I've been with this girl since the day she was brought into this world. I know EXACTLY! What pain she has been through, the secrets she bares and wont share, but bottles up inside of her."

"Then why do you try and kill her every time she summons you!" before Aquarius could even answer, a groan was heard from the sofa, Aquarius facial expression softened, something Laxus had never seen from the spirit, "Lucy sweetie, it's time to wake up…" the blondes eye's twitched slightly and opened slightly, "Aquarius nee? What are you doing here?" was the only words spoken.

"I was worried about you little chickpea, I felt the rage that was inside you earlier. That's not happened since you was 13." Lucy then suddenly shot up from where she was laid, chocolate brown eye's darted all around the room until they landed on Laxus arm, covering her mouth slightly, as tears stung her eye's. "Laxus… oh my god.. I'm.." "Don't apologise Lucy, it's nothing, how are you feeling?"

He went and knelt down beside Aquarius and gently took one of her hand's rubbing his thumb over her knuckles, "nothing? It's not nothing! i…" she was suddenly cut off by a pair of small arms pulling her into a gentle hug, "Shhh chickpea, you need to calm down and stay calm, otherwise your other side will come out again." The spirit spoke, using soft calming words to try and sooth her master.

"I'm so sorry.. I let my emotions run into anger, i'd had enough of feeling weak and helpless, of feeling the pain, I don't want to keep looking over my shoulder every two minutes to make sure that man is not there watching me." "Lucy why didn't you tell me or any one of your spirits this you know you cannot keep your emotions bottled up, otherwise your rage episodes will get worse." Taking a deep breath as she listened to Aquarius's words, "So no one can get hurt by me, and you know how much I hate being fussed over. That's why we came to the agreement that you'd act like the bad spirit."

Aquarius couldn't help but laugh slightly, "Yeah, that is true we can go back to that but for now, we are going to get revenge on this man that did this to you. Everyone of your spirits are wanting a piece of him and trust me we will get him." Laxus couldn't help but shiver a little, feeling the full wrath of all Lucy's spirits at one time would scare anyone, especially with the deep bond they had. Lucy loved all her spirits so much they was her family, her friends, her brother and sisters basically. She didn't favour one over the other no. She gives them equal love.

Lucy never used them as a weapon either, she always fought with them, or took an attack for them. Laxus smiled, "Hey blondie after all this is over I'm taking you out for the biggest steak I can buy." At the words steak, Lucy's ears twitched and let out a huge grin. "STEAK!"

Both Laxus and Aquarius laughed at her reaction, and Aquarius roughed up the stellar mages hair, "that's my little chickpea, always thinking with your stomach. Well I better get back to the spirit realm and tell everyone that you're ok. Get some sleep Lucy" Lucy nodded as she felt her spirit kiss her forehead, "Alright Aquarius-nee, I'm sorry I worried you all and I will call you all out more often, maybe call you and scorpio out together so you can go out on a date here in the human world."

The spirit smiled to her master and nodded, "I think I'd like that, now get some sleep with your soul mate ok? Love you chickpea." "Love you too Aquarius-nee!" with that Aquarius faded away in a gold light, once she had left, Lucy looked a little sad, but knew her spirits was always with her. "Well that was certainty interesting, who knew that fish girl was a big softie."

The stellar mage couldn't help but laugh, "Aquarius only ever shows that side when me and her are on our own. She was my mother's spirit until mama passed away from the illness she had, and once she passed, Aquarius went to the next celestial mage. Since I was my mother's blood daughter, I inherited her, along with Cancer and Capricorn. Maybe one day I can train my celestial powers strong enough where I can open more than 3 gates at once. Either that or just take off my limiters."

His blue eye's blinked slightly, "Wait… limiters? Since when did you wear limiters?" that made the girl laugh again as she pointed to her Star ear rings, one ring on her finger and her star necklace, "I have 4 limiters, and ever since I was 10, I could basically kick your arse in a fight Laxus but I'm not going to do that." Laxus couldn't help but laugh, "you kick my arse? Oh now it's on blondie! We are going to have to have a sparring match one day." Giving out one last laugh, she nodded "hey wait… where's Minerva?"

He cocked his head towards the clock, "she was in the bathroom, but she's been in there for almost an hour and half now" Lucy raised an eye brow, for as long as she could remember Minerva only ever took 20 minutes in a bath, standing up she began walking over to the bathroom, "What are you doing? She could hurt you if you walked in on her." Shaking her head slightly, "No, something's not right…" she raised her head a little and sniffed.

Minerva's scent was in the bathroom but it wasn't strong, her eye's widened and paled slightly, his scent was in there, she went to open the door but it was locked, "Blondie hey! What did I just say?" Lucy stepped back a little and shoulder barged the door, breaking it down, once she stepped into the bathroom, Minerva's clothing was neatly piled on the towel rack, but .. Minerva wasn't there.

Laxus stood up and walked over to the bathroom, he noticed it was empty, "Ok that's weird why would the sabertooth girl want to sneak out naked?"

He suddenly felt Lucy grab his hand, "Because she didn't… Laxus look!"

She pointed to the mirror, and his eye's widened as she gripped onto him tighter

Missions for mages must pay nicely to have such a nice place,
