Prologue

The rain poured where the beach just sat, the sun was shining but the rain still fell. Nobody saw where the girl was, but well and truly she was there…

Cara opened her eyes as the rain fell, cold and fast, it pattered onto her face softly but rapidly. She wondered how long she had been asleep, but once again the dream was there.

In the rain she was there thinking of it, about the boy she sees all the time, what is this, a sign? Her book was right at her side, she was surprised it didn't get wet from all the rain, with all her heart she knew it was luck.

While she was reading her book the rain still fell, she was really annoyed about this but still she put up with it.

Suddenly she heard a breath from behind her, she stood up. The thing she saw was not a face, but a cloak, a big black cloak. It came up to his knees and it wore boots to keep beyond its knees hidden. Before she could ask anything it disappeared into a great black hole.

Attempting to follow it she dropped her book which she was writing, the name stated Kingdom Hearts.

Her attempt to follow the black person failed, she sat down feeling like she'd failed. During her time sitting her heart started pacing.

Chapter one: Facing the truth

After she had managed to gather up her pages from her book, she heard calls from her best friends, Pim and Yvette.

"Where have you been Hun, you missed Jack get almost eaten by some black thing!" Pim giggled and pulled Cara up. Cara didn't want Pim or Yvette seeing her book so she hid it in her bag while the other girls weren't looking.

Yvette started giggling too shortly after,

"But he got away, the coward, it was so totally weird Cara. You should have been there; it was the best thing since the great fire of Green Glass Garden Shop in 2003. It was truly amazing."

Cara recognised the black things from somewhere, and told them to take her to where the thing happened. After the two other girls had told the whole story they went to the Horace Hill where it happened.

At the entrance to the hill, Cara told Pim and Yvette to stay where they were so she could go in alone. The hill was very dark, all she heard was her footsteps and nothing else, it was true silence. Not like the silence the teachers expect at school, no, real, true, silence.

She heard scattering, her head turned but there was nothing behind her, not even a shadow.

"Hello, is anybody here? This place is cold so if you are there, tell me now, please." Cara was never rude, nor nasty. Before her eyes could blink a black thing appeared, it looked familiar, a heartless.

Her heart pounded and the black creature wondered over to her, the fear of the whole thing made Cara shake like a sizzling sausage.

Then before she could run a sudden weight suddenly made her fall to the floor. She struggled to get up as the weight pulled her down. That didn't stop her trying like she hoped it would.

When she took a look to see what the strange weight was she couldn't believe her eyes, she blinked and blinked but the image wouldn't vanish or go away. She couldn't mistake what she saw, nor could she make it vanish. It well and truly was a key blade.

Cara had no idea what to do, out of pure fright she hit the black things away and ran. Her legs just kept on moving and wouldn't stop and when she got to the cliff edge they wouldn't stop there.

Before she knew it she was falling, and from then on she didn't know what was real and what wasn't…
