Attetion anyone who would actually bother to read this: this is now the reason Atemu is in the real world for any future stories, existant or not.
disclaimer: i think this should be fairly obvious, but i dont own Yu-Gi-Oh
It was the moment before Atemu needed to walk into the door leading to the afterlife. Yugi had won, Atemu had lost, and his spirit was free to go to the spirit world, or the afterlife, or heaven, or whatever you wish to call it.
"Bye!" everyone had said, with tears filling their eyes. Yugi finally called Atemu just that, Atemu, rather than Mou Hitori no Boku, the final step in accepting himself as a full soul, the only Yugi Mutou in existence.
So Atemu walked dramatically across the stage of the ceremonial duel, and the last of his lifetime, and was about to take the step into the spirit world, to fade from the living forever. Suddenly, he paused, and with a deep breath, he took a step forwards. There were only five steps left…four steps…three…two…Atemu was about to take the last step, then:
"Beep… Beep"
A holographic screen appeared out of nowhere, startling Atemu, Yugi, and all the others who were there. Suddenly, a cool female voice sounded out, like one you get from automated voice you get sometimes from a phone.
"We're sorry; the automatic door is temporarily out of service. Please use another exit."
Atemu looked around, as did everyone else, and quite a few of them looked actually relieved. Atemu, however, looked confused, and Yugi looked concerned. Although he would miss Atemu, he knew that that was where he needed to be. Or so he thought…
"There's no other door…" Yugi finally said.
"I can see that, Aibou." Atemu went up to the holographic screen, which read the same message that it had said, and asked, "How long will it take the door to be fixed?"
"Anywhere from ten minutes to a hundred years sir."
Everyone sweat dropped; Atemu was that close to finally getting to the afterlife, and he didn't know how much longer it would take for the door to be fixed.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, sir. We will send you a message when the automatic door is fixed. Thank you for visiting the Spirit Door"
"Oh, boy"
