Lady Macbeth goes on a rainy and stormy day to the cave of the witches. There she wants to talk to them and hopes they can help her of her moaning and sleepwalking. From the cavern, voices sound from out of the shadows.

1st witch:Whom goes on this dark day,

To come upon our wicked way

2nd witch:The fairest lady of doomed king

For our help by something

3rd witch:Let her in! Enter cave of ruin,

Tell of the deepest sin

Lady Macbeth enters

L. Macb.:Where art thou, fearsome creatures, for it is you three whom I seek. Show yourselves to me and answer what there is in desire I wish to know. Appear to me!

Witches enter

2nd witch:What does thee wish to see?

Is it knowledge and wisdom to be?

1st witch:No help is given, only truth to come

Yet unable to make undone

L. Macb.:Then tell me of thou wisdom, for the night haunts me as I haunt it. Nothing sweetens this little hand now it is touched by blood. Relieve me of my regretted sin.

3rd witch:Some spots never fade away

2nd witch:Not until a dying day

1st witch:Done with conscience, never a hesitate

There thee wrote thee own fate

Choices could have been made

Decision was to fade in shade

L. Macb.:No, thee must believe me, I wish that act had never been performed. Thou wisdom can relieve me of my sin that has been done though with great regret. Like an angel I will from now on live. Remove the blood spilled on royal skin.

Hecate enters

Hecate:First, the mind clouded

With plans thee created

No good and evil no more

Only power like never before

To rule whole of Scotland

Though destiny thou cannot withstand

Next, the act made absolute

An innocent man turned to soot

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

Thy castigation shall be just

Restless nights filled with shadows

Moon and stars are thy foes

Nothing left to save thee

Except to perish to get free

Hecate exit

L. Macb.:Wait! Come back! I beg thee to save my lordship, never have I wanted this. Have faith in this doomed queen.

1st witch:Our mistress has spoken

Her majesty shall be broken

3rd witch:Misfortune will be thy

Fate is at last nearby

2nd witch: Too late, too long

And then forever gone

Witches exit

L. Macb.:No! Please return to me! Or else at least for my beloved king. Save me from my sins!
