o1. acceptance

Massie Block has never once been accepted for who she really was. She had to hide behind designer clothes, her famous friends, and scary purple claws, I mean, nails. Nobody's understand her, don't you try to pretend you do, too. Nobody understands. Nobody.

Well, with the obvious exception of Cam Fisher.

Nobody's gotten to the real story behind Cam Fisher, how they got to become true friends.

Well… It was God's doing.

"Ow!" Massie was, out of nowhere, on her knees. The concrete had scraped her knees, a nasty sight full of red lines. Blood was beginning to come out. She winced in disgust but couldn't tear her eyes away. Why did this interest her? To be honest, she didn't know, but it was cool.

But then the pain hit.

"Don't cry, don't cry. Mommy said tears equal weakness," The five year old whimpered. She bit down on her lip anxiously, fighting desperately to hold back the tears.

"My mommy says that crying is good for the soul."

An unexpected male voice suddenly speaks to her. God, is that you? Massie wondered. God, if that's You, I'm going to cry, okay? And if it's really You, You'll send me a friend to make me feel better.

Massie allowed a single tear to escape, and before she knew it, they were coming out rapidly at an alarming pace. A human body (or what she hoped was a human body) knelt next to her, and put her (it had to be a her, God wouldn't send her a boyfriend, yuck) arm around the girl.

"See? I told you it's good for the soul."

It was the same male voice. Wha-? Massie's head whipped up sharply, and she stared at the young boy beside her. One eye was green, the other was blue. She stared, transfixed by this strange fact. He smiled at her brightly, his teeth whiter than her toothpaste, and the young girl hesitantly smiled back.

"I'm Cam, and my eyes are differently colored because I'm extra ordinary," this Cam announced proudly.

"Extra ordinary?" Massie sniffed. "That's bad."

Cam smiled and shook his head. "Everything a mommy says is a good thing. She means everything lovingly. My mommy told me that, too."

"My mommy doesn't tell me that."

Cam nodded solemnly, as if he was in court testifying.

"My mommy says those mommies love their sons- or daughters," he smiled sheepishly at Massie, "But they're too high maint'nance to say so."

Massie smiled at this boy, this boy with different colored eyes and jet black hair.

"I'm Massie. And you know, you are extra ordinary."

Cam beamed at her, his face radiating pure, glorious joy.

"You're extra ordinary, too."

So, this is going to be a fanfic related to If We Were A Movie. But you don't have to read it, really, it's kind of like a little extra something, nothing important, just something I'd like to share. (:

I got this list of emotions (Google 'emotions,' and click the first link that pops up, the Wikipedia one) and I'm using each word as a chapter. :D It's going to be fun!
