Day 25 – Fishing
"Clint, I have never been fishing in my life," Bucky grumbled when he learned about the mission. He and Clint were being sent to a cabin near the Canadian border to investigate a report about gun smugglers. Apparently, Fury owed someone a favor, so his way of paying them back was to send his two best snipers on this probably fruitless mission.
"Did it a lot while growing up," Clint said as he dragged Bucky through a sporting goods store. "Probably where I learned that patience paid off." Clint was pushing a basket and tossing items into it. "Especially when the fish weren't biting."
"Didn't know they sold cat toys here." Bucky held up something with feathers on it. "I can pick some up for Alpine."
Clint chuckled. "Those aren't toys, doofus. They're fishing lures. Supposed to help get the fish's attention."
Bucky shook his head. "Well, that's just stupid." He returned the lure to the shelf and continued trailing behind Clint. Finally, Clint rolled the shopping cart to the register and paid. As Bucky carried out their purchases and loaded them into the SUV, he looked at Clint and smirked. "Ya know, doll, I can think of a quicker way to get the fish."
"Oh? Do tell, Bucky Bear." Clint climbed into the SUV and put the keys in the ignition.
"Toss some explosives in and blow the fish out of the water."
Clint laughed. "Well, that's one way to do it!"
