"That should be all today."
I stare at Bill. It's been a few days since I went to the other dimension. Everything went back to normal, well as normal as Gravity Falls can be anyway. He started teaching me again after that day.
"What do we do now? It's only been a few hours," I asked him, since I don't actually get sleep deprived I usually get taught all night- well I asked him to anyways. "You ain't going to teach me more about flying or like levitating?"
He thinks for a moment before responding, "Nah kid. You should be a master with that now." He smirks, "You're becoming more and more powerful by the moment, can say I'm impressed. Or it's probably just because I'm the greatest teacher there is," he says smugly.
I look at him blankly, "Sure... Sure you are."
"Glad you agree, Kid, don't worry I'm also proud of you," he says ignoring the sarcasm in my voice. "Anyways there's another thing I gotta discuss with you later," he says grimly. "But for now I'll teach you another power of ours."
"What do you mean discuss something?" I asked, before my eyes lits up with excitement, "Another power?"
Bill lets out a grin, "Now I have your interest? Anyway, you've seen me use it a few times already." He snaps his hands before turning back to a triangle. Then he turns into a yellow wolf with his signature bowtie; then a bird; then back to a human body again.
"Oh," I said dumbly. "Wait I can do that?!" I looked at him quite shocked.
He shrugs, "Maybe. Though you can try with appearance for now."
"Appearance? Like?"
"Ears? Eyes? Something like those. Going too far is too complicated," he laughs at me, "I don't think you can handle it now. Maybe somewhere in the future."
I glare at him, "I could totally do it." I pause for a moment, "Maybe..." I muttered.
He laughs with his voice echoing. "Sure you can kid." He snaps his finger, a wolf appearing in from of us. "Need a reference? How about you study its features? Like the ears or eyes."
"Okay... Sure." I gaze at the animal in front of me. It felt more like a statue or model rather than an animal. It felt so lifeless, now that I think about it hasn't moved once. Maybe it's because we're in my mind, either that or that's literally a statue. "That ain't alive right?"
He laughs again with a smug look, "Why don't you try to find out kid?"
I touched it for a moment as I felt its fur. Definitely doesn't feel like it's fake.
"Buddy, it's fine. It won't bite you," he remarks, "Probably."
"Not helping!" I exclaimed, "Fine you know what." I snapped my fingers while imagining the appearance of the wolf. I placed my hand on my head and felt another set of ears. "There!"
He rolls his eyes, "Alright, alright you did great. Now keep practicing!"
...
William
"Alright! I'm done!" I said while falling to the floor completely exhausted, "That took way too long without much progress!"
Bill lets out a cackle, "HA! You should see yourself, kid!" He mocks, "It's only been a few hours and you're already in the ground whining!"
"Ugh.." I groaned, "Ha. Ha. Very funny. Look in a few days I'll be able to master it!" I step up to my feet, "But nope! Not today, I'm out! I'm exhausted which doesn't make sense."
He laughs again, "Don't be dramatic. You're saying it like you've been here for days."
"Well, I'm not exactly like you! Still have human body and human needs."
Now that I think about it, I haven't exactly gone out much after the whole time problem. Also forgot to ask what happened to them while I was gone.
"Alright," he starts, a three-dimensional map of Gravity Falls appears.
"Woah."
"I found out some things when I got back after Gideon summoned me," he says while I nod curiously, "And apparently there's been something going on in the forest, another troublesome species."
"Hmm... What is it?"
"Vampires."
"Wait what?" I asked nervously, "Uh.. Are you sure?"
"As sure as I can be!" He said smiling crazily. "You aren't scared are you?"
"Maybe?" I answered honestly, "There's a lot of stories I've heard about them, so yeah they are scary," I shivered just talking about them. "Don't tell me I have to kill them?"
"Well unless you want bloodthirsty vampires running around then I would say you do have to kill them," I stare at him nervously, "Relax kid. You're a dream demon, you can kill them," he said trying to encourage me, "Probably."
I let out a sigh, "Okay... How do I kill them?" Then I remembered, "Like normal vampire weakness? Sunlight?"
"Yep, that's it. There might be some vampires that might not be affected. Since I don't interact with them at all so I have no clue," he says nonchalantly, "Guess you just have to wing it!"
"You know maybe I didn't want to wing it."
"It's fine. It's fine, as long as they're mortal you can kill anything."
The dream started to fall apart. I sigh, "Whatever... Guess I'm waking up."
"Good luck!" Was the last thing I heard before I woke up.
I yawned, opening my eyes. "Now... What's first-.." I start before hearing my stomach growl. "Guess that answers it. Breakfast!" I took off my blanket and start getting ready.
I took a bath first and clothed myself. After that, I went downstairs to find my mom cooking something. "Good morning!" I greeted as I sat down in one of the chairs.
"Good morning," she replied, still focused on her cooking. "What are you up to today?"
"Probably just go and hang out with my friends and go to town?" I answered, "What are you making mom?" I tried smelling the scent, "Eggs and Bacon?"
She lightly laughs, "Yep, I'm almost done." After a few more minutes she finished cooking and we started eating. "Look I want you to be careful here Will. I know there are all sorts of magical things here and we didn't come here so you can get hurt."
"What-!" I choke on my food. She hands me water which I quickly drank. "O-Oh... You knew?"
She laughs, "Did you think I don't know the things that happen in Gravity Falls?"
I smiled nervously, "I guess I got busy and forgot to ask you about this town..."
"I've spent some summers here a long time ago," she said, reminiscing her memory, "I just want you to promise you'll be safe out there."
I smiled, she really is the best mother I could ask for. "Yes. Don't worry mom. I'll be safe."
...
After I finished I went to the Mystery Shack. Maybe I could ask some of them to accompany me. Hopefully, they aren't that busy.
I entered the Mystery Shack, "Now... Where am I going to find some stake lying around? Who would..." I muttered to myself, then an idea came to me, "Oh right! Who else, I'm sure Soos would have one of those."
I started walking around the mystery shack, trying to find Soos.
"Hey Soos, are you busy right now?" I asked him, eyes gleaming. Hopefully, he's not busy.
He looks at me, "Sorry dude, Stan asked me to help him with the tourist, another set will come later."
"Oh. Then have you seen Mabel and Dipper anywhere?" Maybe at least they can come with me. I'm sure they'll like an adventure.
"Hmm," he hums, "I don't think they're here right now, they said something about going out to hang out with Mabel's friends."
My body droops sadly, "Oh... Where am I going to find people to talk to..." I muttered, "Anyways, do you have any stake anywhere, Soos? The one you would use to kill vampires with? Just need it for an unspecified reason."
He thinks for a moment, "Oh yeah definitely dude!" He starts walking to a storage room. "Here we go. Stan thought it would sell in the gift shop, but it didn't so it got stuck here," he explains, "Either that or he's just really paranoid," he whispered the last part to me.
I stare at him for a moment. How convenient, "Welp, can't argue with that." I start to turn around, "I owe you one Soos!"
"What do you even need it for?" He asks.
"Don't worry about it! Just going to kill some vampires!" I shouted as I left the room.
I went to the gift shop first, I was hoping Wendy would be there but unfortunately, she wasn't. Oh well, guess I'll just invite them another time.
I went outside, "At least I can practice my flying," I muttered to myself. I went inside the forest. Once inside I started to float and fly to wherever Bill was saying the area was. It was actually near a mansion. I-.. I actually didn't know there was a mansion here in Gravity Falls.
While I was flying I see someone near a cliff sitting alone with their back behind a rock. I flew a little closer, just behind a tree. Then I saw who it was, "Pacifica..." I muttered.
What is she doing here... I didn't notice where I was going, before I knew it my body hit one of the branches. "Oof," I lost control of my power before I could fall I caught myself when I placed my foot in the branch. "Ugh... who put that there?"
"Who's there?" Pacifica shouted, standing up and walking towards me, before she noticed me in the branch upside down, "Oh, it's you..." She says in relief, "What are you doing here?"
She was looking at me suspiciously, "Oh you know... Just 'hanging' around," I replied as I jumped down the tree, while she groaned in response. "Then I noticed someone looked like they needed company."
"You-.. We met at the party right? What was your name again?" She asked, sitting down again at the rock.
"Name's William, just call me Will."
"Well- Will-.. I assure you I am clearly fine by myself," she replied annoyed.
"What are you doing here by the way?" I asked, sitting down near her but with enough distance, ignoring her statement in the process, "If it's for the view, then it's definitely good."
"I just wanted to get away from home because of my pushy parents," she said, her annoyance being slightly directed towards something else. "Parents... always forcing me to do what they want to do."
I stared at her with a sad smile, I didn't exactly plan my day to be comforting someone, maybe Mabel's caring personality is rubbing off on me.
"Look I can't exactly help you with your problems," I frowned for a second, "But I do know you just need a friend who'll listen to you," I said smiling again, "And hey, I'm a friend and I'm all ears."
Her anger was slightly fading, "Who said we were friends exactly?"
"Ouch," I said dramatically, "I did! Now then I declared we're friends, now why don't you tell me what's bothering you, Paz?"
