Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series! Today, we pick up with our only character to chat in Bionis' Interior. And that character is going to be Sharla. Just because I feel we haven't heard from her in a while. So, let's not waste a second. Here we go!
Heart to Heart 81: Is This Goodbye?
Participants: Spyro and Sharla
Location: Spinal Nerve Tower
Affinity: Pink
Introduction
Sharla: Spyro?
Spyro: Yeah, Sharla?
Sharla: I know this is going to be a weird question, but I saw you after the last battle, are you feeling okay? You seem... weaker than when we started.
Pass/Pass
Spyro: (Sighs) I was hoping nobody would notice.
Sharla: So there is something going on here!
Spyro: I... think so. To be honest, I'm not sure.
Sharla: You forget I've taken up some medical training, so Colony 6 will have a doctor when I get back. What do you think is going on?
Spyro: To put it simply, without the magic my world is full of... I think I might be dying.
Sharla: WHAT?!
Spyro: It's just a hypothesis at this point. I genuinely don't know. I've never been in a world without magic for an extended period of time before now. So it's possible my body either just hasn't adapted to it yet, or it can only be sustained for a short time with what energy I have. But chances are, if I don't get back home soon, this place might be my grave.
Sharla: Does Cynder know about this?
Spyro: To be honest, I think she's suffering from this too.
Sharla: Well why haven't you told her?!
Spyro: If Cynder hears the phrase "I'm Dying", coming from my lips, she'll lose her mind! I can't do that to her. I can't force her to deal with that inevitability coming WAY faster than any of us expected. And besides, I want to enjoy what time I have left with her without that fear hanging over our heads.
Sharla: I can't say I entirely agree, but... I can kind of see it.
Spyro: So, will you keep this secret?
Sharla: (Sighs) Sure.

Pass/Fail
Spyro: (Sighs) I was hoping nobody would notice.
Sharla: So there is something going on here!
Spyro: I... think so. To be honest, I'm not sure.
Sharla: You forget I've taken up some medical training, so Colony 6 will have a doctor when I get back. What do you think is going on?
Spyro: To be honest, I really don't know. I'm guessing I just haven't adapted to a world devoid of the magic mine is full of.
Sharla: (Gasps) Oh crap, I didn't think about that! Wait, does that mean you're going to die if we can't get you home quickly?!
Spyro: I've been trying to banish that thought from my mind all day. Thanks for putting it back, Sharla!
Sharla: We have to tell someone! We have to tell Cynder at least!
Spyro: I fear she's in the same state. I don't want either of us to live our last days panicking and scared, if that's even what this is.
Sharla: (Calms down for a moment.) You have a point, we don't even know if you're dying. It's just a hypothesis.
Spyro: Just, please, keep this between us. I don't want to panic the others. It's bad enough I've already panicked myself, let alone the two of us.
Sharla: I can try.

Fail/Pass
Spyro: No use worrying her with outlandish theories. Oh, it's nothing. Must just be tired.
Sharla: You'll forgive me for assuming, but... I'm not too sure.
Spyro: Damn it, I forgot how good she is at reading the room! Well, there is a possibility. My internal magic supply might just be running out.
Sharla: Should we be worried?
Spyro: I... honestly don't know. I've never been an extended time away from replenishing it. But... I don't think it's anything to worry about.
Sharla: Let's hope so.

Fail/Fail
Spyro: No use worrying her with outlandish theories. Oh, it's nothing. Must just be tired.
Sharla: You'll forgive me for assuming, but... I'm not too sure.
Spyro: I can't tell them my theory. It's just a theory! Maybe add some mild dehydration, or chalk it up to something I ate.
Sharla: To be honest, I'm more willing to buy the "something I ate" theory. Especially since you're not native to this world.
Spyro: Yeah, that's probably all it is. It'll pass I'm sure.
Sharla: Let's hope so.
Spyro: I know it's not something I ate, but I can't have them worrying about me in our most important moment.

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for today. And quite a tricky subject. Will our favorite dragons die if they can't get back home? Or is it just an extreme theory? This little plot point, I will say, was kind of derived from remembering one of my favorite recent stories on this site: Eternal Bonds by Darksonickiller. Go give it a read if you haven't yet. I won't spoil it here. So, how to Cynder and Sharla interact? Tune in next time to find out! Same time.. same channel!
