Hermione's life seemed to be colourful now that she and Fred told each other about their feelings. She now knew she wanted to be with Fred for the rest of her life. It was time for her family to meet him.
"Are you free to go to brunch with my parents next Sunday?" Hermione asked a few days later, when she and Fred were watching a movie at her flat. "I think it's past time you met my family."
She knew she probably should have waited until they finished their movie night to say something, but watching Fred sitting next to her, his entire focus on the movie made something to her brain, and her mouth started talking before she realised anything.
The idea of her parents meeting Fred made a knot of anxiety appear on Hermione's stomach. She knew Fred would win her parents and they'll love him, but at the same time, she was afraid of what they would think of him.
"I would love to," Fred answered, smiling at her. "And maybe, after that we could meet my family? Only I know how much my mum has been pestering me to meet you. She mentions it every time she sees me."
Hermione smiled, feeling warm all over her. She had never met any of her boyfriends' mums in the past—not that she had dated too much—and she was anxious to meet Fred's mum. Hermione hoped she would approve of her.
It was different thinking about what Fred's family would think of her. She wanted them to accept her, and their relationship. It was scary to think about it, but Hermione was ready to take a leap of faith.
Speaking of leap of faith, she knew there was something else she needed to ask, if everything will work it out.
"I think this can be arranged, and maybe," she said, looking at him with a small smile, "we can have a joint brunch with both of our families? So they can meet each other."
"My dad will be over the moon to meet you and your parents, so I think it's a safe bet to say we can make it happen." Fred smiled at her, before pecking her lips. "He'll probably ask your parents a million questions, so I'm sorry in advance."
Hermione frowned at what he said, not really understanding what Fred meant. It seemed kinda weird that he already knew his father would ask many questions, but she tried not to dwell too much on it. The important part was the fact their families are meeting soon.
"So we're going to meet my parents first, and then, your parents," Hermione said, trying to contain the giggle that threatened to escape her. "I hope our parents can get along."
Fred chuckled, and the sound sent a pleasant shiver down her spine. "Don't worry, love, everything will work out just fine. And even if it doesn't, you just need to remember that I love you."
Hermione pulled Fred to kiss him, getting lost in the feeling of his lips on hers.
