To say that Linda Reagan was tired would be a huge understatement. She had just worked a double shift at the bustling ER, with barely any breaks in between. She had worked an hour in overtime as well. She had to take the bus (even though she hated public transportation), because she didn't trust herself to stay awake. She'd have to go back to her her car with Danny the next day.

It was six thirty in the evening when she finally got home. She opened the door, not thinking that it should have been locked.

"Hey," Danny greeted, sitting on the couch with a beer.

"Hey," her voice dripped with tiredness. She shrugged out of her sweater and let it drop to the floor. "I just worked a double and overtime. Seventeen hours on my feet with barely enough lunch." Linda plopped on the couch and laid her head in her husband's lap.

He smiled and started stroking her hair as she continued to mumble about her day and how tired and hungry she was at the moment.

"Mmm, That feels nice... I just want ten minutes. Then I'll make us something to eat."

"Alright, ten minutes." He smirked, knowing she'd be fast asleep within seconds. "And we can order pizza if you're that tired."

She didn't answer him, because she was already sleeping.

Mary Reagan walked up to her son's apartment. He had called and told her to walk right in, so she did. She always felt wrong for doing that, but he had insisted. She smiled widely when she saw Linda fast asleep on the couch, with her head on her husband's lap.

"Awww! Lemme get a picture!" She started to dig around in her purse, looking for the camera.

"Mom!" Danny complained, "you carry around a camera?"

"You never know when there's going to be a Kodak moment!" She shrugged, like it was the most logical reason in the world.

She pointed the camera at Danny and a sleeping Linda, "Act like you're doing something."

"I am doing something," he retorted, going back to the book he had been reading. He couldn't remember what he had read, because Linda's hot breath on his thought was very distracting. He heard the click of the camera, so he looked to his Mom.

"Lemme put her in bed, then we can talk." He slightly shook Linda awake, "come on, baby. Time to wake up."

"... Five more minutes," Linda mumbled, her face buried in his leg. "Then I'll make dinner. Promise."

"Sit up for me?"

With eyes closed, she sat up, her arm supporting her. "Mmwhy?"

"Let's go to bed," he picked her up, unaware of his mother getting the camera ready.

She habitually put her arm around his neck, snuggling closer to him. "I'm too tired. 'Morrow, promise."

"I didn't mean let's go to bed as in let's have sex. Although, that'd be nice." He walked through the bedroom door, "I meant I'm gonna take you to the bed so you can sleep properly and comfortably."

She nodded, not registering a single word he had just said.

He placed her on her side of the bed, "I'm gonna help you out of those scrubs, okay?"

She groaned in response, vaguely registering what he was doing. He explained what he was doing before he even did it. The last thing he wanted to do was scare her. He picked out his pajamas, because he knew she thought they were the more comfortable than hers.

When he turned around, a T-shirt of his in his hand, he smiled at Linda. She was lying down again, but completely naked. He grabbed a pair of her undies, and sat on the bed. "I'm gonna put your underwear on, okay?" He slid her underwear up her legs, and couldn't resist giving her a small kiss on her thigh, close enough to tease her.

Linda smiled and moaned her approval.

"Sit up for me please?"

She sat up, her husband knowing she wouldn't remember this task once she woke up. She put her arms up, as per his instructions. She felt a soft T-shirt being pulled over her body, then a kiss on her lips.

Danny laid her down, pulled the covers out from under her, then tucked her in. "Good night, baby. Sleep good. I love you."

"Love you more." Linda mumbled out, snuggling into the covers.

"I love you most." He kissed her cheek, pushing her hair back. She was so cute when she was so tired, he just wanted to watch her sleep. But he knew his mother was waiting. Planting one more kiss on her cheek, he smiled and softly closed the door behind him.

"You take good care of her," Mary told her son as he walked back into the room.

Danny shrugged as he sat back down, "least I can do after all the crap I put her through. Worry, anger, fear..."

"You treat her well. I'm sure she appreciates it."

He shrugged again, never liking praise. "Hey, you think you could get grandpa to give me the weekend off? I wanna treat Linda to whatever she wants. Spas, movies, shopping..."

"I'm sure he will. And if he won't, I'll make him."

Danny chuckled. He knew what his mother was like when she wanted something for one of her babies. "Thanks."

"Of course."

"Can you wait for dinner? I'm going to order a pizza while Linda sleeps."

"Of course. Why is she so tired?"

Danny shrugged, "double shift, over time, not enough lunch. I bet she didn't sleep good last night, since I was on the night shift."

"Sleep well," Mary corrected.

Danny rolled his eyes in good nature.

Linda felt the bed dip and a kiss on her shoulder. "Hi."

"Hi. Do you want to eat? I order pizza," Danny pushed her hair away from her face.

"I am rather hungry."

"I also got you one of those brownie cookie things."

She smiled and sat up, rubbing her eye. "Sorry I conked out like that."

"Don't worry about it. Better you do it here and not somewhere else."

"Worried I'll end up in another man's bed?"

That wasn't what he had meant at all. "Should I be?"

"No. Don't be ridiculous. You're the only man for me."

"Good," he kissed her lips and helped her stand, leading her to the main room.
