Around tea time, Darcy met Elizabeth at the Institution. That day his doctor examined him completely, and at his request, the doctor wrote a note to Elizabeth stating that he did not have any contagious disease. He even offered to speak to Mrs. Barton whenever she wanted.

"...this note is for you, my love." With a smile, Darcy handed her the doctor's note.

Elizabeth took the note and looked curiously at it; after reading it she smiled broadly, "this is very good news, I'm so happy you are healthy. Thank you."

Darcy kissed her hand, "I'd do anything for you, Elizabeth. If you have any additional questions or concerns you can talk to me or my doctor."

Elizabeth smiled and shook her head, "No, it is not necessary. I have no doubts anymore." she looked into his eyes, and added, "I no longer have doubts of any kind."

Darcy's eyes widened and he smiled, "Are you sure of what you are saying?"

She nodded, "I am sure." She kissed him tenderly, "I love you, and if you still want to get married soon, just ask me again."

"How soon?" He asked with a big smile.

She smiled. "As soon as you wish."

Darcy knelt down and took both of her hands, "My love, would you do me the great honor of marrying me this week, or even sooner?"

She nodded, "Yes, Mr. Darcy and the honor is mine."

"Please, say my name."

"Yes, Fitzwilliam."

Neither of them knew exactly how it happened, but a few minutes later they were entwined on the couch, until at one point, Elizabeth told him they should stop. She didn't want to consummate their union before the wedding.

"Forgive me, my love. I promise it won't happen again until we get married. I love you so much, Elizabeth" He gently kissed her nose.

She smiled slightly, "I am also responsible for what happened... but I prefer not to consummate our union before we get married."

"You have my word, I will wait..."

They arranged their clothes and a few minutes later Mrs. Barton arrived. The good lady saw that both had swollen lips, but as she was discreet, she made no comment and merely congratulated them.

After tea they told Rose they were getting married; The girl was happy as she liked Mr. Darcy very much...

Excited Rose asked him, "Mr. Darcy, if you marry my aunt, will you be my uncle?"

Darcy smiled and nodded, "Yes, Rose. Are you happy I am going to be your uncle?"

"Yes, I'm very happy; and do you want to be my uncle?"

"Yes, I want to be your uncle. I love you, Rose."

"I love you, Mr. Darcy." Rose hugged him and kissed him, "Can I take my dolls to live with me at your house?"

Darcy smiled broadly. "Yes, it's going to be your house too. You can take all the things you want."

"Can I have a cat like the one in the story?"

"Not in London, but at Pemberley, you can have all the cats you want."

"What is Pembely?"

Lizzy and Darcy laughed, "Pemberley is my other house."

"Rose, you've already asked Mr. Darcy a lot of questions today." Elizabeth smiled, "another day you can ask him more questions..."

That night when they said goodbye, Elizabeth walked him to the door and they talked for a few more minutes alone...

"Today you have made me the happiest man in the world... Early tomorrow morning I will buy a special license, and I would like you to come with Rose and Mrs. Barton to my house for lunch. I want the nursery to be ready as soon as possible and I want you to see your rooms." He paused, "I would like you to redecorate it to your liking."

"We'll be there, but tonight the Gardiners invited me to dinner. If you want you can go with me so you know them."

Five years ago, he would have found some excuse to avoid associating with a brother of Mrs. Bennet's, but now he was genuinely glad to meet them. "With great pleasure..."
