Mid-July
The last week was a whirlwind of activities; Darcy bought a special license; at Elizabeth's suggestion, they chose pink and yellow wallpaper for Rose and Anne's rooms. They also bought curtains and furniture in the same colors and a small sitting room so the girls could invite them to have tea in their rooms. They dined with the Gardiners twice and contrary to what Darcy expected, he was very impressed with them and vice versa.
At last, the long-awaited day arrived, and the Gardiners, Mrs. Barton, the Spencers, General Holmes, and Mrs. Shaw with little Rose were gathered at church to witness Elizabeth Bartons's wedding to Fitzwilliam Darcy. Darcy didn't want to wait for Richard to return from his wedding trip because he didn't want to take a chance that something happening and they would have to postpone the wedding even further… He had already waited five years and he didn't want to wait another minute!
As the organ played, Mr. Gardiner, entered the church arm in arm with Elizabeth. Elizabeth was radiant in a new pearl-colored gown with beautiful flowers and pearl adornments in her hair, while Darcy was wearing a dark blue suit that brought out the color of his eyes and a huge smile on his face.
When he saw his bride, Darcy was immensely moved and his eyes were moist with happy tears. He had never seen his Elizabeth so beautiful. At last, her uncle, with a slight nod, kissed Elizabeth's forehead and placed her hand in Darcy's. The couple said their vows with conviction and feeling, and even Darcy's voice trembled slightly with emotion.
At the end of the very moving ceremony, and after they signed the registry, Rose hugged Darcy tightly and asked him if she may call him Uncle Darcy, from now on. He excitedly told her YES.
The wedding breakfast was at the Gardiners', and afterward, Elizabeth and Darcy went to Darcy's house where they were to stay for three days. Then they would fetch Rose, Mrs. Barton, and Mrs. Shaw to go to Pemberley.

The first night they spent together as husband and wife was perfect, a memory they would both treasure until the day they died. Elizabeth had bought a beautiful lace nightgown for that night and was sitting at her vanity combing her long hair when Darcy entered her bedchamber.
For several moments Darcy was both petrified and enthralled looking at his beautiful wife, so many times he had dreamed of seeing her with her hair down. He soon gently approached her, and tenderly he took the hairbrush from her hand and began to comb her hair while, with his other hand, he caressed her shoulders and hair.
"Your hair is so beautiful and it's even silkier than I imagined. If you knew how many times, I dreamed of seeing you like this, with your hair down, and I would touch and caress it." The two looked at each other through the mirror and smiled.
With a mischievous smile, Elizabeth asked him, "Tell me, what other things have you dreamed of?"
He kissed her right shoulder, and looked at her intensely through the mirror, "I have dreamed of kissing every part of your beautiful body and being so close to you that not even the air fits between us." He kissed her neck. "I love you so much Elizabeth."
Elizabeth smiled and closed her eyes, "I really like those dreams. You have my permission to make them come true."
Darcy helped her to her feet, while he passionately caressed and kissed her, hastily untying the laces of her nightgown until the nightgown finally fell to the floor. Within a few minutes, to Darcy's delight, Elizabeth was completely naked in the middle of the room.
He looked at her in wonder and murmured, "You are so beautiful my love, so beautiful." He carried her to the bed and in a few seconds, Elizabeth was lying in the middle of the bed with her hair spread out on the pillow.
Darcy took a long look at her, staring with a mixture of desire, love, and passion. Elizabeth helped him out of his nightgown and they began to explore each other's bodies.
That night, Darcy fulfilled his dream of kissing and caressing her with abandon, and when they did come together as a couple, it was one of the most rewarding experiences of their lives.
Their first three days as husband and wife was the happiest of Darcy's life. He also realized the huge difference between making love to the woman he loved more than anything in the world and being intimate with a woman he felt nothing. There was no comparison, and under no circumstances would he be intimate with any woman other than Elizabeth. Besides, Elizabeth was a passionate and curious woman, and their lovemaking was even better than his dreams...
