Chapter Twenty Five:

Sliding into the room, Grissom lightly pads towards the bed where a slim sleeping form is nestled down under the comforter already. Hand tucked under her chin, facing towards his side of the bed, her hair pulled back away from her face. Picking up his pjs he heads to the bathroom, showering and roughly drying his hair, he returns to the bedroom as quickly as humanly possible. Lifting the sheets, he lowers himself slowly into the bed to not disturb her. She stirs ever so slightly, swallowing before rubbing her face into her pillow. Warmed at her cute demeanour, so different to the sometimes stern professional manner she exudes at the lab, he can't help but reach out and brush his fingers across her forehead. Her eyes flutter open, a smile creeping across her face when she registers its him.

'Hi.'

'Hi.'

'I didn't mean to wake you.' She shuffles closer, snaking an arm around his middle, burying her face in his neck.

'I'm glad you did.' She kisses his smooth tanned skin. He raises a hand to rub her back, the other coming to rest on her arm draped over him.

'Even though I'm not the almighty greying Hodges?' He feigns sadness, pouting even though she wont see his face. She laughs quietly, rubbing her nose against his neck.

'There is only one greying scientist I'm interested in, don't worry.' She mumbles into his skin, inhaling his clean scent.

'Good.' Planting a few soft kisses into her hair, he closes his eyes. 'Go back to sleep Sara.'

'M'kay.'
