"Ugh!", Mertle scuffed once she returned to the centre. "Had a bad day?", a guy asked her. "Yeah", said Mertle and sighed, "It's ok though. I still made some progress". "What do you mean?", asked the other one. "He's injured".
Back in Hawaii, her mother was just writting back to the orphanage. They had sent her a letter saying they officialy trew Mertle out because she ran away. Mrs. Edmonds knew her daughter's behaviour and she wanted it to stop, so she insisted on them looking for her and taking her back into the experiment.
"Katie! Come here, you have to see this!". Katie ran up to her mother and saw a piece of paper on her desk. "What's that?", she asked. "Mertle's mom wrote". "Mertle...?! But why?". "She wants us to look for her, she thinks Mertle could have become much worse now that she ran away".
Katie just stared at her mother like she didn't understand. While in reality, she didn't want to, but she did. The truth was sad, and if they didn't want Mertle's behaviour to get out of control, they had to find her. Little did they know Mertle wasn't so easy to catch.
"Morning, did everything go ok yesterday?", the nurse asked the next day Lilo and Wakko came for the pills they forgot about. "Yes. No one asked us anything", said Lilo. She now talked as much as she could, being aware of the fact that you don't know how much something really matters to you until you loose it.
"So, you forgot something here?", asked the nurse. "Yes. The pills", said Wakko. "We forgot Wakko could get sick", Lilo added. "Why would you get sick?", the nurse asked him. Wakko sighed, "I got shot by D.I.P.".
The nurse frowned. Everything was clear to her now. She went to take the medicine and soon gave it to them. "Here", she said, "Hope you don't get sick". They took the pills and went back home, wanting to do this as soon as possible.
Lilo smiled contently as they sat down on the couch once Wakko was done taking the medicine. "Ok, what are we going to do with Mr. Plotz?", she asked. "It's simple", said Wakko, "We just have to ask Scratchy and the nurse to talk to him instead". "Good".
So, that afternoon, Lilo finaly got to talk to the psychiatrist. "I'm really sorry", she said with a sigh, "I feel like I betrayed you", she hung her head down. "No...", he said and stroke her hair a bit, which made her look back up. "You did nothing. Now I know we can't just ignore everything and go on".
Lilo sighed in relief, "Can I ask you a question then?". "Sure". "Can you and the nurse please talk to Mr. Plotz? And explain? I think he'd yell at us if we did". "Zat's a great idea!", said Scratchy, smiling. "Thank you", said Lilo in pure relief and hugged him.
A/n: sorry for a short chapter.
