Leilani and Colonnello took several days to be certain of each other again, before they could manage to stop their constant touching, their glances for reassurement.

Leilani slowly understood that Nello wasn't disgusted by her, that he was still hers and Colonnellos glances that were varying between making sure her presence was still there and if he was overstepping, if his touch was okay or if it was wrong started to get rarer.

In a way it was like finding themselves again. It took a few days but in the end they were closer than ever.

The relationship between Leilani and the rest of the arcobalenos was strained as well but an odd sense of normalcy started to form between them. A featherlight approach, careful treading and finding out what was actually going on and how they would work now.

Reborn didn't step overboard again, he spent a while just watching them interact, Fon next to him whispering in his ear and Lal had spent a few hours with the hitman to help him take the edge off with target practice but in the end it turned out okay. All of them way more aware of the sky though. They were watching her, categorising her behaviour completely new.

It took another two day of their new normal until the packages arrived. Fon had helped carry them upwards where Leilani started to open them up. The rain was laying on the bed, arms crossed behind his head as he watched her go through them, she seemed a bit lost with the amount and instead of trying them on she busied herself with her magic, washing them and drying them before folding and unfolding them several times.

"Skull? You want to try something on, kora?"

She shrugged her shoulders. "It's... a lot."

"You're overwhelmed?"

"I never had that much. It's… I don't know. I never… had to really choose, you know? At my ball Ron's mother sent me a dress. I just wore it, the rest was done by Hermione."

He hummed, considering his options. He knew he wasn't the best at this, the disaster of a bun he had produced last time spoked tales of that. Same as he had sometimes made Lal mad when he said the wrong thing when she was trying to dress up.

He paused before pulling his phone out to send a quick text.

Lal would know what to do. As uncute as she often was.. she still sometimes dressed up on occasions and she probably would be able to relate to Skull right now.

The female rain didn't take long, knocking shortly before just stepping inside the room "Out, Colonello."

"Why, kora?"

She just stared him down "This is a womanly matter that would go way above your head. Just play with Reborn or something."

He looked at his sky who just shrugged before he sighed and got up "Alright, alright. Have fun, yeah?"

Skull tried to smile but her eyes were still glued to the masses of clothes.

Lal stepped in front of her "They went overboard, didn't they?"
Leilani nodded "Yeah."

"You've got no clue what to wear?"

"No…"

Lal crouched down, looking through the piles of clothing "Do you know what helps with that?"

Leilani shook her head.

"Close your eyes and grab one."

The sky followed it, staring at the dress in her hand afterwards.

"Do you want to wear this right now?"

"Isn't this too formal?"

Lal smiled "Then put it back and try again. We have time. Why do you think getting ready takes so long? Sometimes you even put it on only to realise you don't like it right now and that's fine. You should feel good while wearing it… and maybe you want to wear something one day and then you don't the next day because you don't feel like it. Don't stress about it too much."

Leilani nodded, slowly working her way through while Lal had sat herself on the desk chair, sometimes commenting or explaining something about a few pieces of clothing that left Leilani confused but for the most part Lal stayed silent, just letting the sky figure it out herself.

In the end Leilani held up a mid thigh pale green dress; shoulder free but with see through lace short sleeves. A ribbon around the waist and with a slightly puffy skirt that was accented by the same slightly darker green flowery lace from the sleeves.

The rain smiled "You like it?"

Leilani nodded.

"Then try it on."

The tiny girl quickly hurried into the bathroom to change and Lal took the time to go through some of the other packages. She knew Reborn had ordered a few accessoires as well, same as shoes. She picked an assortment out that matched the colour or that she thought might be suitable, to make Skulls decision slightly easier.

It didn't take long until Leilani nervously stepped into the room again and Lal had to pause. She knew the correct clothing could have an impact and change perspective but… she hadn't known how much of a difference it would make.

Skull had always been cute, doll-like even but right now? It was a whole different level. Her petite figure showcased and enabled the whole adorableness even more. She looked like a pixie, a forest fairy and Lal had to look away to hide her blush.

Leilani was nervous though, looking at the rain "Do you think it's okay?"

"Yes…yes... it... it suits you very well."

Leilani smiled slightly, twirling a bit and making the puffy skirt follow her movement "I like how it swings."

Lal really couldn't stop her smile at that "That's good. Would you sit down? We're not done yet."

She waited until the sky had followed her wishes before presenting her with the accessoires. "Pick something."

The sky took a while again, slowly pointing at the silver flower necklace and a flower ornament.

Lal smiled "Can I do your hair?"

"Sure?"

Lal picked up the green ribbon she had set aside before sitting down behind the sky, gathering a few hair strands from the top and braiding them with precision only to wrap the green ribbon around it to secure it, A few strands were still framing Skulls face and the sky looked in wonder at her image in the mirror "How did you manage this?"

"Practise. I had a childhood friend with curls. She always had problems taking care of them. Your's are wilder but… I managed to pick up a few tricks back then."

Lal secured the flower on the side of Skulls head before helping her with the necklace. "Why don't you look at the jewellry again? Maybe you find something else you like. A bracelet for example. I'm going to be back in a minute, alright?"

The sky nodded before picking through the jewellry.

Lal didn't take long, coming back with a small bag, gesturing Leilani to sit down again before she pulled the chair in front of her "I'm gonna put some makeup on you, if that's alright with you."

"Okay."

Lal applied a bit of eyeshadow, mascara, a hint of blush and some lip gloss. She could honestly only stare at the sky in front of her. Her green eyes even brighter than before. She was captivating like this, magical in a way. it was almost a curse that they had to deal with the most adorable sky that could ever exist.

The rain jumped up "You look like a pixie but… you know... I've got an idea. Why not lean into it even more?"

"What do you mean?"

Lal picked up another necklace, small green gems dangling off from the silver chain. "Why settle on a pixie if you can be a fairy princess?" and with that she fastened the chain around Skulls head, resembling a tiara in the way it hung on her forehead.

The rain slowly pulled Skull up to make her look in the mirror again "You like it?"

Honestly Leilani could only stare at herself in wonder. She had never looked like this "It's…" she didn't know what to say.

Lal snickered but she had to agree and was even quite proud of her accomplishment.

Leilani was still staring at herself "Isn't this too much?"

"It's the first time you really dress up, right?"

Leilani nodded.

"Then this is perfect. Let's go. I can't wait to see Colonnello's reaction."

"You think he will like it?"

"I'm certain and if he doesn't I'm going to kick him out of the house."

The sky giggled but followed Lal down the stairs, still hidden by the obvious taller rain.

Lal cleared her throat "Attention." addressing the whole room and she still couldn't stop her grin from sneaking up again as she stepped aside to let them look at the petite sky.

Colonnello's jaw literally dropped, just staring at the redhead. Not able to look away and completely stunned.

Not that the rest was much better, even Reborn needed a moment before he regained his senses "It suits you."

"Thank you." the sky almost shyly answered, her hands still clenched in her skirt, showing her uncertainty and letting it swing a little as she twisted her hands.

Fon could only nod, still taking in her appearance "You look very beautiful today, Skull."

The slight blush that made its way on her face just added another layer of adorableness on her.

Lal couldn't even fault Viper when they snapped a few pictures and she secretly wondered how much she would have to pay for one.

The sky had made her way over to Nello at this point, kneeling on the couch in front of her rain, still a bit nervous "Do I look okay?"

Colonnello could only nod, completely entranced with her "Very." his voice almost breaking as he whispered it out.

Lal bit her lip to stop herself from snickering as she saw how much the rain adored her and how the sky lit immediately up at it.

The female rain sat the small bottle of green nail polish on the table in front of the two "You can have it. I bought it on a whim but I don't use it… it would match."

She made her way over to Reborn, leaning next to him against the wall as they watched how Nello asked Skull for permission to try colouring her nails.

Lal tilted her head slightly into Reborns direction and spoke quietly "You've got nothing to worry about. Don't you see it?"

"I see how he reacts to her."

"He worships her, Reborn. He would never do anything. He wouldn't go overboard, Didn't you and Fon agree on the matter? While I still don't like the choice of words you two used… didn't you agree that he is the only one you would truly accept for her?"

The hitman said nothing, just watching as Nello completely butchered the paint job, clumsily leaving streaks and spots and even overdrawing slightly as his eyes were struggling to stray long from her face.

Skull lit up though, a wondrous haze in her face as she looked at them before turning her full attention to the rain who still looked at her with tangible wonder and adoration.

"It's perfect, Nello. I love it. Thank you"
