Once the surviving pilots from the Death Star attack touched down on Yavin IV they were all swarmed with their fellow rebel members who were congratulating them. Leia and Thalia ran to meet up with Luke and Cassian as Lilah was getting out of her X-Wing.
"Luke," Leia shouted as she rushed toward the male and hugged him, threw her arms around his neck and they danced around in a circle for a moment before letting go and moving on to the next person.
Thalia moved forward next and hugged Luke, tightly. "You've stepped into a larger world, Luke." Quoting her father once more, brown eyes settled on the boy's blue ones as she pulled away from him. "The farm boys all grew up and just saved the galaxy." For the time being. One can only hope the Jedi were correct in their choice with Luke, Lilah and Leia.
"Thank you, Thalia." Luke whispered, kissing her cheek.
The female smiled before moving to hug Cassian. "You did it." She breathed, realizing that Cassian had finished Rogue One's mission in destroying the battle station. But as the female Jedi pulled away from the hug, she took notice of the hurt and pain within the male's brown eyes. "Your team. They would be proud of you, Cassian." Those were the only words she could come up with at the moment.
"I think so too." Cassian admitted to Thalia, hugging her once more, close for a moment before letting her go. He was hurting and was sad that his friends and team couldn't be here. But he knew they would be proud, he knew they were watching within the Force. They were proud of him and what he had done with these people before him.
Luke looked around and saw C-3PO making his way through the crowd to stand beside the X-Wing, clearly having his circuits near overloud because of his worry for R2-D2, then the farm boy took notice of Han and Chewbacca running toward them.
"Hey! Hey!" Han said as he embraced Luke, grinning.
"I knew you'd come back!" Luke told the older male, grinning. "I just knew it!"
Han gave a playful shove at Luke's face and gave a soft laugh in return. "Well, I wasn't gonna let you get all the credit and take all the reward."
"Han!" A voice called from across the way, causing everyone to turn. It was Lilah.
"Oh no." Thalia breathed to herself, worried.
Everyone seemed to be bracing for the chaos that was about to take place before them.
Only Lilah was smiling and full of relief and happiness, as she broke into a run. "I knew there was more than just money about you." She said, hugging Han tightly and then, she even surprised herself with this one, and kissed him.
Han kissed Lilah back, a grin forming on his face as they pulled away. He was surprised that Lilah cared about him. That him going back to help would result in a beautiful woman kissing him. "I knew you liked me, Sunshine." He answered before kissing the woman once again.
The fried little R2-D2 unit suddenly was lifted off the back of the fighter by the maintenance crew and carried off under the worried eyes of C-3PO.
"Oh, my! R2! Can you hear me? Say something!" C-3PO said in distress only to get no reply from R2 did the droid turn and look at the humans. "You can repair him, can't you? You must repair him! Sir, if any of my circuits or gears will help. I'll gladly donate them." C-3PO said to the mechanic.
"We'll get to work on him right away." The tech promised them all as Luke felt relief was through him. That was one loyal droid he had there for sure.
"He'll be alright," Luke promised C-3PO about R2-D2 because those droids have survived much worse than this.
Lilah let go, turning a little red, but her face still at a smile as she brought the others closer to her. She had her family right now with her, they were safe. She thanked the Force for that one for sure.
Thalia, Luke, and Lilah were no longer just kids from a desert planet with unknown futures. Luke was the pilot that blew up the Death Star. Thalia and Lilah would become Jedi and help the rebels in their fight against the Empire. The light was rising once more in the galaxy to fight back against the dark, against the Sith.

The dark side of the force still grew within the darkest places of the galaxy. Even though the light of the Jedi has risen, the dark still seeped forward to try and destroy it.
It took Darth Vader a while to regain control of his damaged TIE fighter before heading toward the nearest Imperial outpost, not preoccupied about how the dark lord was getting to explain the loss of the Death Star to the Emperor. Tarkin had been the one responsible for the space station and its vulnerabilities, and the rebels had been more cunning than anyone had anticipated by using the weaknesses Galen Erso created to their advantage. There was nothing more to say about the rebels.
For the only thing to think about had been the boy, the female Jedi from the Death Star, and the Kenobi girl. Those young adults were at the front of Vader's mind-only for another thing to enter it.
Vader's ship had been knocked out of the Death Star trench; he'd recognized the Corellian freighter as the same ship that had delivered Ben Kenobi to the Death Star, reportedly from Tatooine.
How long had Kenobi been on that planet?
Had Fairchild been with him?
Were they secretly training Jedi all this time to stand against the Empire?
Why that planet?
But some part of Vader, buried within the very deepest part of his memories, could remember the burning twin sun's of the planet. The colors of red, pink, and yellow along the sand as he hugged the woman he once loved so long ago. A past that still needed to remain buried within the darkness.
Only Vader's thought lingered on the female Jedi's and the boy within the X-Wing. All three were strong with the force but Lilah and Luke felt familiar to him.
Darth Vader would not rest until he learned the truth.

Days later they were all getting ready for their big hero ceremony, as dubbed by Han. Lilah was in a fine made dark short colored dress shirt that fell to her hips, it had no shoulders or long sleeves. It was paired off with a belt, dark pants and matching boots. Her hair was curled and her makeup was simple. She hadn't dressed up in such nice things in ages, causing Lilah to look beautiful.
"I think we're all just about ready," Lilah said, coming out of the room. She spied Thalia, looking almost as regal as a princess. "Thalia, you look beautiful. Your father and mother..." She trailed off in pain. "They would have been proud of you."
Thalia's hair was curled back, much like how her mother wore hers for a long time. The dress was dark blue like the waters from the planet of Naboo, a place the young girl visited once with her family to meet Lilah. The boots she wore went along with the dress. The young female felt like a princess out of a storybook.
"I know they are. They would be proud of you as well," Thalia explained, a smile on her pink lips.
Lilah felt a guilt lifted off her a little at her friend-no sisters-words. As she looked at the boys, she saw them looking rather dumbstruck. She wasn't vain, but she wasn't ignorant enough to pretend that she knew they were the cause of it all.
Maria, Obi-Wan, and another woman, Ivy Amidala, were watching over the two females from within the Force. Smiling at each other. All three were very proud of the girls along with those that stood beside them. Only neither of three Jedi watching the scene didn't interact with Lilah nor Thalia because for now all the Jedi will do is watch over them. Their time had ended and now it was time for the New Jedi to rise.
Then the three boys started to gather along with Chewbacca. Han was dressed in a clean white shirt along with a black vest going over his shoulders, blue hands with golden lines on the sides along with black leather boots. Luke wore an alliance-issue flight jacket that was bright yellow over a black tunic, brown pants, and dark leather boots similar to Han's. Cassian wore a brown Corellian-cut field jacket that depicted his military rank along with brown backs and normal brown boots. The female's had to admit the boys cleaned up nicely.
Cassian looked them over and gave a smile and walked to them, looking at Thalia after giving Lilah a nod. "Thalia, you look beautiful." They both did to be exact. Beautifully amazing, several words he would use to describe them.
"Thank you," Thalia answered, giving him a nod and smiling toward him. "You look handsome." he really did. Thalia couldn't imagine the rebel she met all the way back on the Death Star would dress like this.
"Thank you." Cassian smiled a little more almost sheepishly, realizing it had been years since he was truly complimented. Oh sure he knew he was handsome, and got men and women on his side. But this had been the first time in a long time since someone looked at him.
The farm boy, cleaned up very handsomely to say the least, was gaping like a fish. Finally he seemed to work up the courage to walk over to them with a small smile of wonder. Shaking her head Lilah looked at Han with a slight smile. "You clean up nicely, Han." Han again. Well she wasn't calling him Solo anymore, so that was an improvement.
Han kept his attention only on Lilah, blue eyes wandering up and down the outfit as Chewie gave him a small look. Lilah was very beautiful within the outfit. Her hair was styled like sunshine. "You don't look so bad yourself, Lilah."
Lilah just smiled a little, her eyes a little softer this time, as she looked at Cassian and Thalia. It was cute. She thought to herself for a moment. A little too sweet for her taste but she smiled at them nonetheless. "Come on lovebirds," Lila said, nodding to them. Duty was calling them. They couldn't be late for their own celebration. Well it wasn't theirs per say, but still they were receiving awards for their acts of heroism.
Thalia couldn't stop the blush that appeared on her face when Lilah said love birds. They hardly even knew each other, but still the Force has it's way of getting people to meet and interact. Just like Maria and Obi-Wan. The female could see Cassian's face turn red as well at Lilah's comment as well and sheepishly smile. "Let's get going. We can talk later." She told him.
Both Thalia and Cassian knew they would have time to speak with one another once the celebration was over and visit the Rogue One memorial because Cassian didn't want to be alone for it.
The Trumpets began to sound as Cassian, Han, Luke, Chewie, Lilah, and Thalia took their places at the main throne room. Hundreds of rebel troops stood at attention and faced the long aisle. The aisle extended to the far end of the chamber and ended at steps that led up an elevated level, upon which stood Princess Leia, General Dodonna, General Draven, Mon Mothma, and the other Alliance leaders.
Thalia let out a shaky breath as she grabbed a hold of the hand next to her, she thought it was Lilah's only to look down and see it was Cassian's. "Sorry." This was a very new experience for the female, being a hero with all eyes on her.
Cassian just shook his head, then a smile formed on his face, telling her he didn't mind at all.
The banners flew high in the sunny breeze as the six marched up to receive their medals of honor. From the other side of the temple a newly shined and repaired R2-D2 waddled up, beeping, next to Leia and a shiny C-3PO.
Lilah nodded to the Princess in white with a slight smile as they walked up to the stage.
Chewbacca was confused by the whole event but since Han is there the Wookiee went along with it.
Dodonna moved forward with Leia, carrying a pillow where the golden medals were laid. The princess was dressed in a long and flowing white dress with her hair braiding and wearing a silver necklace, and looked staggeringly beautiful. She raised and placed a golden medallion around Han's neck first.
Han gave Leia a nod and a quick wink before his blue eyes settled only onto Lilah, keeping his focus solely on the female Jedi.
Once awarded the rag-tag team turned around and bowed to the crowd. Cheers interrupted for the heroes of the hour.
Lilah felt herself smile again for the moment as she stood proudly next to her friends. She knew they had only won the battle and the real war would begin soon. And by the Force, she hoped they all made it.
The rebels had won the battle. But the Empire's dark reign was far from over. Darth Vader had survived the Death Star's explosion. The battle station had been destroyed, but Vader and his master, Emperor Palpatine, were already planning their revenge.
