So sad face, I was going to quit fanfics, but I want to give it a try to mix this and my og works... I love the community of fanfics, so ... yeah. I loved this story so I came back to it...I love it's needed indulgence and it's compassion.
If you have suggestions, feel free to share.
I am up on Amazon under Mika Mathews with an og story called The Silver Coin.
I am also on Youtube under Author Mika Mathews... I am trying to build my author platform, it's hard ...
Two weeks later
Hinata was no fool, she knew that well enough. She made struggle with a lot of things, but her mind was sharp and she was a good student. Seeing Naruto's blossoming growth, she knew he was being helped finally. So, naturally, she was eager to see the source of his change. She used her eyes, following Naruto to see a pleasant looking older boy with greenish eyes and brown hair teaching him to walk on water at a distant training ground. She followed them, getting closer and closer, focusing on Naruto working on the water walking exercise and getting it right! His sheer joy consumed her.
"If you wanted to train with us, you could just train with us." She jumped, so happy watching Naruto she did not notice Michael until he was right next to her.
"How did you find me?" She squeaked.
He laughed. "I saw you a while back, you were following us for a while. I guessed you were coming, and when I turned I saw your cream colored jacket. Wanna train with us?" She shivered, expecting a blow, only to see the saddest look on the boy's face. "Kid, you are never going to get hit by us unless you spar with Naruto... I promise that."
That made her recoil. "How'd you know that was what I was thinking of?"
"It's what I used to do around my dad... now... come on, Naruto could use some friends and so could you."
Naruto turned as they walked towards him, smiling. "Oh, hi Hinata! What are you doing here?"
"She was stalking you and I caught her." Hinata choked as Michael laughed. "I'm kidding, now, Hinata you're a Hyuuga right? I hear you Hyuuga's are great fighters, wanna kick Naruto's scrawny ass?"
And like that, Hinata melted into their group, her eagerness for love and the absence of any love in her life made it impossible to not latch on fully. It was hard for her to hit Naruto, but Michael pulled her aside and said.
"Hinata, you need to show him that your blows can hurt, help him learn to fight so he can be ready to fight others. Then make him into a warrior to fight you too, so you too can get something out of this."
It would never be easy, but Hinata went all out, well more all out than before... and for the first time since she could remember, she felt happy...
After a while, they sat against the trees, and ate some food Michael had brought. It was good, and Hinata could not stop the smile on her face as for the first time, she felt right and at peace...
"""
Michael sighed. "Hinata, you should keep on training with us, you're an amazing fighter and you really would be a huge asset!"
Hinata flushed, it was adorable but sad. "I ... I cannot always come, but I will try."
"That is all we ask."
Naruto beamed. "Yeah, you kicked my ass real bad! I am going to get so strong with your help!"
Hinata eeped and sank into her clothes, then giggled. "Thank you."
Michael hugged her on the side. "You are always welcome at my home, kiddo... and I am sure Naruto feels the same."
"Yatta! Always!"
And like that Hinata started to cry, and Michael knew from personal experience that her tears were born from the realization that for the frist time she was entirely accepted... and that she was not hated or disdained...
And that made want to burn the Hyuuga compound to the ground.
With her father inside.
Breathing deep, he said. "We study after school every day, wanna study now? I expect my kiddos to be top students."
"Your kiddos?" Hinata asked.
"I adopted you, get over it."
And she threw herself into his arms, and he knew she would never let go... just as with Naruto, and Michael himself, trauma had bonded them and trauma would make them family...
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write. Trauma bonding is intense and fast. I was Hinata as a kid, my family treated me like her...
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
