Chapter 26-Family
Rick's P.O.V
The group stared at Frankie and Tanya. "What's the message."
"When he comes back. He wants all the traitors on their knees in the middle of the streets. Simon is going to kill them all in front of us. He said that Rick is going to pick two women to be his wives. You have to pick one of your people to die," Frankie stops for a moment. "He said that if you let him put a bullet through Daryl's head, he'll only take twenty-five percent. He said that Carol better be here, so he can take her hand. That's all of it," Frankie says.
"How the fuck did they get out?" Negan growls.
"They used all of their ammo, shot all the workers, and blew the doors open. While the walkers were busy eating the workers. They killed them, and then they took out your lookouts."
"Are they still there?" Rick asks.
"No, they left. I don't know where, and I don't know what they are planning."
"Alright," Rick says. "Glenn, take T-dog and Morgan. Go to Hilltop, tell Carol was has happened, and have her bring her people here. We're going to make our stand here. Negan, Daryl, Rosita, Abraham, Sasha, Heath, and Tobin. Head to the Sanctuary and check it out, be careful and get the bodies of our people. Be careful."
They nod as they split up.
Simon's P.O.V
The trucks went through the woods slowly until they saw Hallowbrant, the former home of the women of Oceanside. Simon climbs out of the truck and smiles. "Make sure these are hidden. Make sure they are hidden well. We don't want anybody to find them," Simon tells his men, who nodded.
"Jared, let's make sure this place is cleared," Simon says. Jared nods as he follows Simon into the building.
"So I have a question," Jared says.
"What is that?" Simon asks.
"When we find this gang of bitches, what are we going to do with them?" Jared asks.
"Take their weapons, kill one or two of them," Simon answers.
"The rest?" Jared asks.
"Do what you want with them, have them make your food, clean your clothes, fuck them. I don't really care. I just want their guns," Simon says.
"So you're not keeping Negan's rules."
"Am I Negan?" Simon asks as he turns around and looks at Jared. "AM I NEGAN?"
"No sir," Jared answers.
"Then don't ask stupid questions, or you'll see Negan in hell when I send him there," Simon says before he continues moving forwards.
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl stops his bike a couple of minutes away from the Sanctuary and turns it off. The others climb out of their cars as Daryl and Rosita climb off their bike and grab their guns. "We go quietly, watch the windows and the buildings. We don't know if there are any of them left," Daryl tells them. They nod as they slowly walk towards the Sanctuary, but they stop when they see a body.
"That's one of ours," Heath says.
"Yeah, it is," Daryl says. "We'll get him on the way back. Get the others, too," Daryl says as they move toward the Sanctuary. They get to the door and see the workers as they walk toward them. "Stay together!" Daryl shouts as they start to shoot at the walkers. The walkers fall within minutes, and Daryl reloads his gun.
"We've seen what we need to, boss. Let's go," Negan says.
"We get our lookouts first," Daryl says as he walks away.
Alden's P.O.V
Alden knocked on the door to the bathroom. "What?" Frankie asks from inside.
"I got you some fresh clothes," Alden tells her. The door cracks open, and Alden hands her the clothes and walks away. He sat in the kitchen, writing a list of the saviors that were being let out. He looks up at Frankie as she walks into the kitchen.
"Thanks for the clothes," Frankie says. "What are you doing?"
"Writing down a list of saviors that have agreed to fight with us, we took them from the Satilate Station," Alden answers.
"You trust them?"
"No, but we need fighters. Kingdom lost theirs. We need fighters, and these people know that Negan is better than Simon."
"He is," Frankie says. "I thought life under Negan was bad. I didn't think it could get worse, but it did."
"I trust, Negan," Alden says after a moment. "I know who he was, but these people trust, Negan."
"You believe these people are good?" Frankie asks.
"I think these people, Hilltop, Alexandria, and the Kingdom. I think these people and those places are the start."
"The start of what?" Frankie says.
"The next world," Alden answers. "A world where people like Simon are dead, people can have families, birthday parties, weddings, a life."
"It's a nice dream."
"These people will make it a reality. I believe in that."
Gabriel's P.O.V
Gabriel sat inside the church and looked at the door as it opened, and Negan walked in. "Well?"
"Frankie and Tanya were telling the truth. Simon is gone," Negan says. "I figured I could be alone here. Forgot you were a priest before this."
"I'm still a priest," Gabriel says as Negan sits down. "Tell me what is bothering you. No one will know."
"When I first took the Sanctuary, Simon was there. I named him my right-hand man right after I killed the asshole that was leading it, the man who killed Laura's father," Negan says. "I knew what he was, who he was, but I enjoyed the power, and I didn't care. I should have killed him that day if I had. A lot of people would still be alive."
"Maybe, but because you kept Simon alive, it led you here. It changed you, made you a better man than you were. We all have our paths, Negan. Yours has been rough, and it will continue to be that way until Simon is dead, but after that. Our lives will become better."
"I hope you're right, Gabby, boy," Negan says. "Thanks for the talk."
"Anytime," Gabriel says as Negan leaves the church.
Glenn's P.O.V
Glenn drives into the Hilltop and stops the truck. "What are you doing here?" Carol asks as Glenn gets out of the truck.
"Simon got out," T-dog says. "He killed all the workers, they abandoned the Sanctuary, and Rick wants everybody to go to Alexandria. He wants to make our final stand there."
"We'll all be in one place for Simon."
"He could send men to each place and attack us all. This is how we make sure it doesn't happen," Morgan says.
"Alright," Carol says. "We'll get ready."
Ezekiel's P.O.V
Ezekiel stood with Rick. "This was not how this was supposed to happen," Ezekiel says.
"I know that," Rick says. "Simon has a backup plan. We've cleared their outposts and warehouses. They don't have any supplies. They might be going after something. They could be back tomorrow, a week, or a year."
"No, Simon won't leave the state. He's too hot-headed. He has something nearby. He wants us to worry, to be paranoid. He'd be here as soon as he can. We need to prepare."
"We'll be prepared."
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl sat on the edge of his bed. He ran his hands through his hair. "You okay?" Rosita asks.
"Just tired," He tells her as she walks over to him and sits down beside him.
"This is going to end soon," Rosita says. "We'll win."
"What happens after? After the saviors are dead?" Daryl says.
"We continue to build," Rosita says. "Help people, build families, maybe start our own," Daryl's head shoots up, and he stares at her. "You're looking at me like I grew a third head. Is the idea of having a family of your own that crazy to you?"
"I just haven't thought about it since the world ended," Daryl says. "Before it ended, I thought about getting away from Merle, his shadow, and doing my own thing, having a family, a couple of kids. When the world ended, we knew it wasn't coming back. I let it go, that idea of being with anybody until you."
"I'm glad I could get through your hard head," Rosita says with a smile. "I never let those ideas go, I thought Abraham was the one, but I was wrong. I wanna have a family with you, Daryl. But I won't force you to do anything."
"I wanna do it," Daryl says as he takes her hand. "But we gotta end this first."
"We will," She says before she kisses him. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
Simon's P.O.V
That night the saviors sat inside Hallowbrant eating. "This could take days," Gary says.
"Then we'll wait days unless you wanna attack now, have Rick and the piss patrol gun us. If you want to do that, be my quest. They'll burn your body with the walkers."
"We could leave, set up somewhere else," Arat says.
"No, Negan has to die," Simon growls. "They will not push us away, we will not give up, they need to die, and they will, and they will die slowly and painfully. That is the only way this goes down."
Simon looks at the door as it opens, and Jed comes in. "One of them is out there."
"See, luck is on our side, surround her," Simon says. They nod as they move out. Simon watched from a window as the woman bent down and placed a flower by a grave. She turned around when she was surrounded. Simon smiles as he walks outside and looks at the woman. "Hey."
"Simon," She growls.
"It's good to see you, Kathy, right?" Simon asks. "Shit has gone down since I killed your men. Saviors are dead. Negan fights against me. They beat us, for now, but they won't for long. You're gonna talk. You're gonna tell me where your people are."
"I won't," Kathy growls.
"You will," Simon says. "Jared put her on her knees," Jared kicks her in the legs, and she falls to her knees. Simon pulls out his knife. "Where are they?"
"Go to hell," She growls. Simon smiles as he grabs her finger and cuts it out. Jared covers her mouse to muffle the scream. He pulls his mouth away.
"Where are they?" Simon growls.
"Fuck you," She growls.
"Alright," Simon says. "Gents, you've all had a couple of stressful days. Take her inside, have fun, just don't kill her," Jared grins as he grabs her. The others grin as they push the woman inside, and she struggles.
Thanks for reading. I did not enjoy that last thing, but I had to write them as they were. They are bad men, and I have to write them like that. Next chapter Simon continues his torture, and the group prepares. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
