"Ark not that I'm complaining about you finally taking your things back, but why are you here so early?" Professor Kukui asked, stifling a yawn.

"Oh, I was just in the neighborhood." Ark lied. He had to get Professor Kukui into a tux and soon, but how to do it without being too obvious.

"Alright, I've been a mentor to you for five years, I know you're lying, what's happening today?" Professor Kukui asked with a smirk.

"Nothing, I swear!" Ark said.

"You do know I can see Bewear out my window, right?" Professor Kukui commented. "Plus you never dress that nicely."

Ark looked down at himself, it wasn't fancy, but with the short time they had, he had to make do with a white polo, and some black shorts he had in his closet back at the mansion.

"Okay, look we have something fancy planned, and I was sent here to get you dressed." Ark admitted.

"See, now was that so hard." Professor Kukui asked.

"Oh, the hard part has yet to come." Ark muttered under his breath. "Professor, I need you to put on this tuxedo, and not ask any questions."

"Okay, I guess I can see what you have planned then." Professor Kukui said in confusion, taking the tux bag from his student.

Meanwhile

"I can't believe you girls planned all this." Professor Burnett said excitedly.

"With everything Professor Kukui has done for us over the years, we wanted to help." Lana said.

"Plus you helped get mother back, it's the least we could do." Lillie added.

"Thanks again for making us bridesmaids." Mallow said.

"Well, I didn't exactly have a lot of time to call anyone else up." Professor Burnett said with a laugh.

"I didn't even know the two of you were dating." Lusamine said, walking into the room.

"I have a social life outside of work, Kukui and I may not spend a lot of time together, but we have been dating for the better part of 5 years." Professor Burnett said.

Back at the beach house

"Alright, and perfect!" Ark said, adjusting Professor Kukui's bow tie.

"You know Ark, sometimes it's hard to remember that these things are second nature to you, with how you live and act." Professor Kukui chuckled.

"Papa Mohn taught me to tie a bow tie before he disappeared." Ark admitted. "I never did thank him."

"I'm sure he knows you're happy for everything he did." Professor Kukui said. "So when's the wedding?"

Professor Kukui had to laugh at his student's shocked expression from his quick comment.

"Please Ark, I knew why you were here from the start, I've just been playing along, Rotomdex spoiled the plans almost immediately." Professor Kukui said.

"Okay, you caught me." Ark said. "We wanted it to be a surprise."

"Look, you kids caring enough to try and give us a proper wedding is more than Burnett or I could ever ask for." Professor Kukui said, grabbing a black strip of cloth. "But you know you could have asked. I had to send out a lot of fast rsvps."

"But what about?" Ark asked.

"The food, taken care of, I let Mallow's father know a few days ago, he's been working with other chefs to prepare enough for everyone." Professor Kukui said, tying the black cloth around Ark's neck. "Hmm, usually don't wear these with polo shirts, but I suppose it will do. Glad you washed your hair for once."

"Professor, this is your wedding, why are you worried about how I look?" Ark asked.

Back with the girls

"It's simple Lillie, we've known you and Ark were the masterminds behind organizing this, and Ark does technically have a cot at Kukui's house still." Burnett said, rummaging about.

"But why me then?" Lillie asked.

"Because I chose you to be my flower girl, that's why." Burnett said with a smile.

Back at Kukui's

"Ring bearer, i don't know how to do that!" Ark exclaimed.

"It's easy, you walk down the aisle after me, and you hold the pillow up." Professor Kukui said. "Even Pikachu couldn't mess this up."

"That doesn't instill confidence in me." Ark said.

"Relax, you'll be fine." Professor Kukui assured.

Later at the ceremony

"Miss Lusamine, are you alright?" Wicke asked, seeing her crying boss.

"I'm fine, it's just my babies are all grown up!" Lusamine sobbed.

"There there Ma'am, it's not even one of their weddings." Wicke reassured.

"I know, but just look at them!" Lusamine cried out.

"Lillie is so lucky to stand up in the wedding." Lana sighed.

"I know, I wish we could all be up there." Mallow complained.

"So how many breaths has Ark taken since he got up there?" Kiawe asked with a chuckle.

"By my count, none. I give him roughly two more minutes before he passes out entirely." Sophocles said smugly.

"Oh I bet he won't make it one." Kiawe countered.

"Are you sure you still want this?" Professor Kukui asked as he slipped the ring onto Professor Burnett's finger. "These kids are like a family to me."

"I don't mind, I always wanted a crazy family with lots of kids." Professor Burnett said with a smile.

Even later, after the wedding had begun to die down

"Kids, we'd like to discuss something with you." Lusamine said, as Professor Kukui's students gathered around.

"We believe that Faba's invention didn't open just one tear in our world." Professor Burnett admitted.

"And while I'm not a fan of sending my children into cleaning up my work, you six have shown yourselves to be more than capable for the job." Lusamine said.

"What job is that exactly, we aren't scientists, we'll not all of us." Mallow pointed out.

"No, but you kids have something we don't, battling experience." Wicke said. "We're calling it the Ultra Guardians, and we'd like you all to be a part of it. Protecting Alola from Ultra Beasts and sending them back home safely. Like you did with UB-02 Nihilego."

"UB-02, Nihilego what's that?" Ark asked.

"The creature Faba summoned, we're calling it Nihilego." Lusamine said.

"UB, as in Ultra Beast 2? So who's the first?" Sophocles asked.

"UB-01, they've been here for years. And you know him quite well, we will also be working on finding Ark's home." Wicke said.

"Scraaaa!"

"What was that?!" Kiawe shouted, grabbing his Pokeballs.

"Nebby!" Lillie cheered, seeing Lunala fly overhead, before zooming through a wormhole, closing it behind them.

"You're all grown up, you don't need me to protect you anymore." Ark said with a smile. "And one day, when I find where I'm from, I'll tell them all about you."

Meanwhile in Pallet Town

"Mom, I'm home!" A young girl with brown hair said, opening the door, kicking a few cans and bottles out of the way in the process. She walked into their living room to see her mother passed out and likely drunk again on the couch. Today was always hard for her. The girl moved towards the stairs, stopping at a shrine. In it, a photo of a baby boy with lightning marks on his cheeks. "I hate you for ruining my life Ashton." The girl said angrily, as she walked up the stairs, the name Cassandra embroidered on her backpack.
