Everybody pretend today is Thursday and that I posted this on Thursday like I said I would...

A/N: So, I posted chapter 28 on Sunday of Bruce's resignation and wanted to post a chapter from Diana's POV since she was with him right before he left for the press conference and would've more than likely been watching it on TV. This will not be a large or full chapter, it's literally just her reacting to the recorded footage of Bruce in the last chapter. The end of Episode Three will be posted in the next couple weeks so be on the lookout for that!

Thx!

~Diana's POV~

My knee bounces from my spot on the couch in the library, the press conference on in front of me but the volume low. The camera is set up beside a couple of reporters who are vocally bashing Bruce and I don't need to hear that, lest I fly to Wayne Enterprises myself and tell them off, making the whole situation worse.

I'm anxiously waiting when I see the reporters begin to turn and call out to someone. Moments later, Bruce walks into the camera's view, clearly ignoring the press. The camera moves to follow him up on stage where he's clearly given the cold soldier by security. I'm sure if someone were to jump forward and attack him, the guards wouldn't do anything or put any real effort into protecting Bruce.

An older woman, Regina, I believe her name is, steps up to greet Bruce, her face portraying genuine sadness. She and Bruce begin speaking when a shorter man who's in desperate need of a shave steps up beside them, Bruce's posture immediately tensing. Oz, perhaps?

Regina seems either oblivious to Bruce's discomfort or is choosing to ignore it since Oz is taking Bruce's job. They speak more tensely before Regina steps away and towards the podium. Bruce moves to follow her but Oz says something to him, causing him to tense up even further beside Oz. His face is a perfect stoic mask but I can tell with how hard his jaw is clenched that Oz is really pushing his luck.

I keep my eyes on the two of them behind Regina, watching as Bruce mutters to Oz to not draw attention when his eyes suddenly widen and he looks at his old friend. Oz smirks at having grabbed Bruce's attention, seeming to taunt Bruce before appearing shocked for a second, a smug grin replacing it a second later.

Bruce's brow furrows and even from the distance between him and the camera, I can see the fury steel across his features in a flash before he rights his expression. At that moment, Regina finishes her speech and calls Bruce forward.

I hold my breath as Bruce approaches the podium, glancing at the teleprompter before looking at all of the cameras and faces looking at him. His eyes dart down for a moment and I know in that second he's going off script.

"I'm stepping down from my position as CEO of Wayne Enterprises." Silence echoes loudly across the plaza before Bruce continues. "But I am not doing so voluntarily."

"Oh no, Bruce." I know he means well but this is not going to help him.

"The Board of Wayne Enterprises has voted me out. At a meeting I was not invited to attend." Regina is shooting daggers at Bruce from behind him, scowling in anger as he refuses to read his script. But I can also see the determination on Bruce's face, knowing he's doing what he thinks is the right thing, even if it costs him whatever is left of his reputation.

His eyes glance to the teleprompter again but he still seems set on ignoring it. "I know what my father did, I know how much he hurt you. But I am nothing like him. His actions are his own." Bruce claims and the crowd begins to talk amongst themselves in disagreement.

Oz mutters something behind Bruce but goes ignored. "Unfortunately, the board is more concerned with good PR than they are with actual solutions. They don't care about making things right. They only care about what looks good."

It's Regina's turn to hiss something at Bruce but he still doesn't acknowledge them when Oz is snapping for security to escort Bruce off the stage. He goes willingly, passing Regina and Oz without a second glance. Regina says something to him, scowling as he goes but he refuses to look her way. He's guided onto the plaza before the security returns to their spots.

Oz takes the mic and the camera focuses back on him but I stop watching, debating what I should do. I don't know if Bruce is making his way back to the manor or stupidly staying for the rest of the press conference.

I snatch my phone off the coffee table in front of me, quickly dialing Alfred. The older man quickly answers.

"Hello?"

"Alfred, is he coming back to the car?"

"No, unfortunately he is standing at the edge of the crowd to watch Master Cobblepot's speech."

"Idiot," I mutter under my breath.

"Oh, that's not good," Alfred murmurs, catching my attention.

"What? What's not good?"

"He's talking to one of the reporters. Vicki Vale. I don't trust her."

"You think she'll make false reports in the paper?"

"I'm not sure. She's been trying to help Bruce since this all started but there's something off about her." Alfred goes quiet for a moment before gasping. "Oh no, no! Bruce!" He shouts.

"Alfred! What's going on?" I shout into the phone.

"He's going for Oswald. Something's wrong!" Alfred hangs up and I look back to the TV, seeing as Bruce charges at Oz, clearly furious. I watch as he lands a solid punch across Oz's face, knocking him to the ground. Bruce follows Oz to the ground, landing punch after punch, not stopping even as security peels him off the Brit, who now lies unconscious on the ground, bloody and bruised.

Bruce roars against the four security guards it takes to pull him away, the veins around his mouth a prominent blue, eyes eerily wide with knuckles and suit bloody. Alfred appears in front of Bruce and he calms somewhat but seconds later, sirens are heard and the camera follows as Bruce is cuffed then sedated and pushed into the back of a cruiser.

People run around shrieking, Regina is looking between Oz and the cop car that's pulling away with Bruce, clearly distressed. Paramedics rush onto the stage to tend to Oz but I turn the TV off, immediately slipping on my shoes and flying from the manor, heading for Wayne Enterprises, desperate to find Alfred and get to the bottom of this.

A/N: I will have you know, I did not enjoy writing this chapter either but I felt like it'd be realistic and didn't feel right to put it at the end of the last chapter. So I hope it's okay.
