AN: I dont know where to start, so I will just get right to it. I don't like saying that a fic is abandoned. Because I feel like, at any point, the creative juice will strike, and I will pick up where I left off. Whether it be 6 months a year or even a decade later, I will swoop in and give my fic the much-needed update. But that's not the case today.
I will not be updating this story, the story is dead and abandoned. It's not an easy decision for me, as this is my first fic and is the reason why I joined this website and where I chose my name from. But I think this is for the best, really. I started this story when I was in high school, and I needed a way to get my daydreams out of my head. I thought I wanted to tell a story about Percy fighting some ungodly demigod who was out for revenge, not against him but against the rest of camp half-blood. That was the story I wanted to tell, but that wasn't the truth.
In truth, I was just an angry kid who didn't realize that he hated the fake people in his life. He was a kid who felt invisible, grasping for attention and connection anywhere he could get it. He was a kid who was angry that the people in his life didn't notice the pain he was in, how alone, and how confused he was. He was a kid who was so in denial about how he was that he created a world where he could hurt, kick and scream at the people who he thought were his friends without hurting anyone.
Thats what this story was about.
And yes, it's a poorly worded, Grammarly-ignored story that barely got the ball rolling despite it being almost 10 years since it began, but this story was my home. With each new HoO book, I would find some ways for Angel's story and canon to overlap, and I would spend the next year or so playing this story in my head, putting aside the rest of the world and my troubles.
When I took up writing one spring break, years after the last chapter, I took up writing this story, and immediately this old anger filled me over. I had made progress, made new friends, and was living in a different place, but that all changed when I tried writing this story.
Since then, this anger that I felt kept re-emerging ever since I tried to update, and I couldn't. I dont like being the person I was, and I thought I could retool that into this story. Have a story about how anger and revenge just destroy and corrupts you, how addicting being angry at everything can be, and how lashing out just makes things worse for yourself, but I just became spiteful and bitter whenever I tried to continue it. So I am calling it breaks here.
I want to focus on my newer stories that come from a better place than this one. And I like to think I am a better writer now, so I can execute those stories better than I could ever do for this one.
I dont want to delete this, because this is the first fic I ever made. It holds a place in my heart that I will always cherish, but it's time to move on. So I worked on a compromise.
This story was never super popular, I could tell people drop off right after the prologue, and that's not surprising. My grammar sucks, my OC is transparent, people sit around most of the time, I am inconsistent with how my oc was wildly transparent and sometimes I would delete whole chapters for no reason. But I know some of you stuck around for this story. I can't imagine it a lot, so I am ending the author's note with everything I had next chapter. I dont like AN with just the bold text, so consider this my parting gift to those who got interested in this mess of a story.
Its incomplete, and hasnt been checked for errors but it sorta paints the picture of where the story was going to go from there. So please enjoy if you want to.
Banishment
"You failed me" A voice echoed from a coffin in Percy's dream.
"I thought she would join" Luke said his voice sared and confused "I thought she would come"
"Then you were more of a fool then I took credit for. Perhaps I should have chosen more wisely. But no matter, no matter prophecy or not I will be moving forward"
"And I will do-what it takes my lord"
"Yes, you will"
"Who dares"
"Greetings lord Kronos, I have heard much from you"
"Who are you? Why are you here?"
"Those eyes" Luke mumbled "You... your the angel of death"
"You...yes I have heard of you. Whispers from depths, The monster sympathizer."
"You have heard of me?" The Angel asked "I am touched"
"How is it that you were here?"
"I was freed, but at a price"
"Have you come to join forces? To swear loyalty to our cause"
"No, I have no reason to side with you. I have no interests in this war"
"Then why are you here?"
"I need help on a project that I am working on, and you need assistance in this war."
"One that you have no interest in"
"I have come to barter. You have the monsters of Tartarus at your beck and call but that won't be enough to take Olympus. You need half-bloods"
"We have word spreading around camp. The half-bloods will rally to our cause" Luke said Percy could tell his old friend was trying to convince himself as well as trying to stand up to him while he spoke up.
"But only the ones at camp half-blood. Am I correct?"
A silence filled the sarcophagus room.
"You know about the other? About the Legion?" The voice whispered
"My lord?" Luke said, clearly not following the conversation between the two of them. Percy was with him on this. Legion? What did that have to do with any demigods? All the demigods in the world are right here at camp. So what on earth was he talking about.
"I learned many things in my time in exile. I know about them, their location, and many others." The angel spoke with a harsh bitterness behind him. "Most will be just as eager to join you than the ones at camp. I can supply you with enough demigod warriors to outnumber camp 10 to 1"
"What are your terms"
"I have 4 demands" "I want you to honor the contracts I have made previously, I want your digression from the Olympians and from the others, I don't want anyone knowing that I have awakened just quite yet"
Kronos coffin hummed for a moment. "These are acceptable, what are your final 2?"
"I want contracts with the (Cyclops predecessors)"
"My Blacksmiths? Why?"
"I have a commission, something they alone can help me on"
"What is your final"
"A list of people I want you to spare in your upcoming war"
"Mercy? For people, you don't know?"
"No, these are people I am going to kill myself."
"Hey sorry i was late I was..."
"Well, i think that gets my point across" Percy's eyes turned back and in Travis's seat sat a black-robed man draped in shadows. The Angel of death, had materialized where he stood.
Immediately all weapons were armed and pointed there.
"No move dirtbag" Clarisse barked
"Come now Clarissa," He said in a mellow dark voice. "Your are all being so dramatic"
"How did?"
""
"Still making excuses are you Chiron"
"You haven't changed"
"Chiron do you know him?" Annabeth asked
Chriron blinked, his eye beaming at the masked man however it looked like he was having a hard time seeing him. Like some light was in his eyes.
Mr D's head tilted to surprise, and the air suddenly grew heavy and grapevine sprouted from the earth in great magnitude.
"It is you," He said with amusement.
"Missed me, old man?"
"More intrigued than anything," "I would think that this would be the last place you'd come back to."
""
"See haven't you noticed?" the man said his voice crawling with laughter.
"What have you done" Mr D sai his voice now a bit frighten
A smooth purple haze clouded the sky above
"As camp director, you really should have been paying attention to your security"
Mr. D's vine began to rot and the Angel broke free from it easily. Mr. D got annoyed and try to shake himself free, but the angel's grip was to tight. Steam started to rise from Mr ds arms. He began to shake violently and his whole body started to burn in purple flames.
"Goodbye Dyonisis," He said with a gnawing sense of gratification.
"There goes your Patron"
"Did you just?"
"Kill him? No there was not enough here for me to kill" He said, "Though he won't be stepping back into Camp Half-blood for a while, not while I am in control."
"In control?"
"Aww does little Annie not understand?" He said with a faux baby voice. Annabeth was about to retort with a huge boom. The sky turned white, and the earth shook briefly for about a good second before everything was calm.
"Good ol master bolt," The man said with a chuckle "Zeus must finally know I am back. Crazy old man"
"My father, why would he. How did you"
"Must I spell everything out to you people? I control the camp now, who gets in and who gets out. The borders, its protection now answers to me. And no one is leaving the camp"
"Chiron must have given you the whole spiel about how Camp Half-blood is your home, and it where you were protected and felt safe. He told me that same lie, all those years ago"
"You," Chiron said "Yes, I remember you now"
"Oh, do you now? Which part, the isolation, the lies you fed to me, or having to flee from the one place YOU SAID I COULD HAVE A HOME!"
"My boy, don't do anything rash. You can leave, straighten things out with Zeus."
"Oh this is a treat. Look everyone, Chiron is willing to straighten things out with Zeus. You didn't do anything when the Gods ordered my execution, for what? Because of some farce, a lie you refused to extinguish"
"Please," Chiron said his voice now in tears. "I don't..."
"Not a chance, old man. Not after everything that they've done. ".
And that's this story. If, for some reason, anyone wants to know any more details about this story. Like why did the Angel resurrect the Minotaur, how was he able to shapeshift, How did he 'kill' Mr. D, How did he sneak into the camp, who is the lackey is with him, and what is the true origin of the Angel, and why was he locked up in the first place, and whats the grudge with the Hunters of Artemis, why did Chiron forget him, who was the girl in Annabeth's dream, how did he take over the Camp's borders, and what is the meaning behind the prophecy in the last chapter? Well, I know all the answers and if you are interested just send me a message, and I will tell you.
Anyway, that's it. I am leaving this story for good. I hope the people reading got some kick from this story, and I hope people will check up on my other stories. Thank you to everyone who has read this story and found some form of amusement, and thanks to all the people who read my new work. You all helped me improve my ability as a writer. I hope everyone finds people that love and accept them, and I encourage people to go and find them if they haven't.
Goodbye
