Chapter 06: USJ Attack

It had been a few days since the attempted break-in at UA and classes had gone by as normal. However, when it was time for Heroics 101 to begin, Aizawa made a big announcement.

"For today's training, you'll be having three teachers. There's me, All-Might, and another Hero who works here that you'll meet shortly."

"What kind of training are we doing?" Sero asked with his hand raised.

Aizawa reached into his scarf and pulled out a small notecard with one word written in big blue letters. Immediately, all of the class excitedly repeated what was on the card.

"RESCUE!"

Aizawa nodded. "The second most common form of Hero Work, after Support, is Rescue! Whether it's a natural disaster like a flood or hurricane or a man-made disaster like car accidents and forest fires, a Hero must always be ready to save others, so today is the Trial of Rescue!"

"Hell yeah! This is the whole point of Heroes! I'm raring to go!" Eijirou cheered.

Tsuyu added her own two cents. "If it's a flood, then I'm in my element."

"I hope I have the right tools...or rather Quirks...for the job," Akatani said as he looked at his hands.

"I'm sure you'll do fine, Mikumo-Kun!" Izumi reassured as the raven-haired boy blushed in response.

"I can use my Quirk to heal others of any ailments before internal and external. So this should be easy peasy for me!" Melissa said with a smile.

"Don't get too excited," Aizawa said, shutting the class up. "Anyway, unlike the Battle Trial, you've got a choice of whether or not to wear your Hero Gear. I recommend you do though; some of your gear won't be suited for Rescue Work, so it's better you discover how to improve them in training than in a real rescue situation. The Training Facility we're using is right on the edge of the school premises, so we'll be taking a short bus ride. Go get ready and meet out front."

After Class 1-A had gotten dressed in their Hero Costumes and boarded the bus that would take them to where they would be doing rescue training, the students had all begun making small talk with each other to pass the time.

"Mikumo-Kun, I always tend to speak what's on my mind." Tsuyu said as she turned to the black-haired boy. "Your Quirk is pretty impressive, but it also seems kinda dangerous, huh?"

"You can say that again." Akatani sighed. "When I first got my Quirk, I could only steal people's Quirks and give them away but All-Might helped me. He trained me and I learned how to simply copy people's Quirks, as well as duplicate, overhaul, combine, and even permanently destroy them."

"Man! That's sick!" Denki said. "Do you think you could help me out with my Quirk? I can produce electricity but I can't exactly control the output."

"Maybe later."

"A lot of you guys have pretty flashy and versatile Quirks," Eijirou said as he hardened his arms. "My Quirk is pretty boring in comparison."

"I think it's a great quirk!" Izumi smiled. "A Quirk like that is amazing for a Hero whose whole job is saving others. You'll be an amazing Hero, Kirishima-Kun!"

Eijirou blushed and rubbed the back of his head bashfully as Izumi just seemed to radiate an aura of pure kindness and love.

"Dammit, why is she so cute?!" Most of the class thought unanimously.

"Heh, you got 'em all wrapped around your finger, Deku." Katsumi chuckled as Izumi blushed.

"Kaachan, it's not like that!"

"You guys are just so adorable when you banter like that." Ochako giggled as she saw Izumi and Katsumi delve into a childish argument.

After some more small talk, the bus soon arrived at the class's destination. Heading into the dome-shaped building, everyone gazed in awe at the interior and all the different Disaster Zones that were set up for Rescue Training.

"Holy crap, this is like Universal Studios or something!"

"You could say that." A synthesized female voice spoke as everyone turned to see a woman dressed in a bulky spacesuit with metal caps on her fingers. Needless to say, Ochako was the most excited to see her.

"OMIGOSH! IT'S THE SPACE HERO: THIRTEEN! I LOVE HER!"

Thirteen giggled at the warm reception. "I created this area as a Practical Training Area; Floods, Landslides, Fires, Tsunamis… this place was built to simulate them all and teach young heroes how to act. It's the Unforeseen Situations Joint; USJ!"

"So, it technically is Universal Studios..." Most of the class thought as Melissa looked around.

"Where is Uncle Might?"

"Apparently, he had to have a talk with Principal Nedzu first. He'll be coming shortly." Aizawa explained as Thirteen shuffled over to the stairs to begin the lesson.

"Before we begin, I need to say a thing or two…or maybe three… perhaps four..."

"Ahem..." Aizawa cleared his throat, snapping Thirteen back to attention.

"Oh right, sorry. I'm sure many of you know this already, but my Quirk is called [Black Hole]. It allows me to create a powerful vortex at the tips of my fingers. The vortex will suck in pretty much anything, but whatever does get sucked in is reduced to dust." Thirteen explained, lifting her hand to show the caps on her fingers.

"It's a great Quirk for rescue! It can easily remove rubble and wreckage, as well as sucking trapped individuals towards you." Izumi said.

"Yes..." Thirteen began, her voice becoming pensive. "And yet it is also a Quirk that can very easily kill people. That's not rare for a Hero's Quirk and I'm sure many of you are the same."

Izumi hummed in understanding while Ochako looked a little uncomfortable, Melissa placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. Akatani seemed the most affected as he looked away, rubbing his shoulder with a forlorn gaze.

"Quirks are an incredibly powerful, useful, and dangerous factor of today's society. Among the people, they are carefully regulated to ensure they aren't used in a dangerous manner; as a society, we can't feel safe otherwise. After all, every day children are born that have powers that could kill easily; without control, our civilization could easily fall apart." Thirteen explained as she pointed to Aizawa.

"With Aizawa-Sensei, you learned the limits of your body's power when it comes to your Quirks, and with All-Might, you learned what it was like to fight against, and more importantly, defend against others that used their power with the intent of defeating you. With me, you will be learning how to use your amazing powers for the sake of saving lives! I truly believe in my heart that our quirks do not exist to hurt one another, I hope that by the end of this lesson, you will all truly understand that Heroes and their powers exist solely to help others!"

The class all began applauding Thirteen's speech but before any lessons could begin in earnest, the lights began dimming slightly.

"It wasn't me!" Denki quickly defended, not wanting to be singled out in case this was an accident.

Aizawa suddenly noticed something out of the corner of his eye; A strange swirl of black mist had formed in front of the fountain in the center of the USJ and was slowly growing larger. Then a pale hand appeared from it.

Akatani also took notice and his eyes narrowed when he recognized the person coming out of the mist.

"You..." The black-haired boy snarled as the rest of the class looked at him in concern as they also noticed the large mist forming in the center, dozens of Villains pouring out with looks of vicious glee.

"I get the feeling this isn't part of the training," Tenya said. "This was supposed to be Rescue Training, but those people don't look like they need rescuing."

"You're right on that front, Iida," Aizawa said as he readied his Capture Tape and donned his goggles. "Those are REAL Villains!"

The mist that brought the villains disappeared and was replaced with a man who was made of shadowy mist and was wearing a metal collar and dressed in a finely pressed bartender suit.

"I see Eraserhead and Thirteen, but no sign of All-Might. The schedule we obtained said he was supposed to be teaching here." The mist man said in a deep foreboding yet gentlemanly voice.

"Well, that's disappointing. We brought all these players to the server for the big boss rush." The first person who emerged from the gate and who Akatani had his focus on said. "Maybe he'll come if we kill these stupid kids."

The person in question was a young man with pale wrinkled skin, light blue unkempt hair, bloodshot red eyes, and wearing a black sweater and black pants with red boots similar to Izumi's own. On his face was a black claw-like hand that covered everything except his hands and strapped to his belt was a pair of severed dog paws. Attached to his shoulders like morbid pauldrons were a pair of preserved pale hands and a similar hand was grabbing the back of his head and another identical pair gripping his waist.

"Um, guys, I don't know about you but I don't think that big guy with them looks like that from a simple Mutation Quirk..." Melissa nervously pointed out as the class noticed a hulking figure beside the hand-masked villain and the mist man.

To call it an abomination would be an understatement. It was rippling with muscles, its body a dark purple that looked almost black. Its eyes were bloodshot and welded to its exposed brain. Its mouth was shaped like a beak and filled with razor-sharp teeth and its only form of clothing was a pair of beige slacks with skull-shaped knee guards.

"I don't like the aura it's giving off..." Fumikage muttered. "It's like a million screeching souls crying out in agony..."

"That's a colorful way to describe it..." Minoru gulped as Melissa used her built-in scanner on her visor to try and get a read on the creature before frowning, disturbed at what she saw.

"Guys, that thing's genetic code is all messed up. It used to be human, but there's nothing human about it anymore."

"You don't have to worry about this big guy," The hand-masked villain assured. "We're saving him for the final boss. It's the rest of our friends you have to worry about. They came all this way to see the Symbol of Peace take his last breath, and they're not afraid to kill a few students to bring him running."

"Been a long time, Shigaraki!" Akatani called out as he stepped forward. "Gotta say, I'm digging all the friends you brought to try and take us on! Where are Nine and Six? Decided they didn't want to play?"

"This is more of a personal mission of mine, Mikumo." The now-dubbed 'Shigaraki' replied. "They opted out because they wanted to see if I could handle a solo quest on my own."

"So that handjob creep's name is Shigaraki...Good to know the name of the guy whose face I'm gonna be soon smashing in." Katsumi said as she cracked her knuckles.

"Something's wrong," Momo spoke up. "The alarms aren't going off."

"It must be a jamming-type Quirk," Shoto realized. "One of the villains is making the whole group unseen to the security network. They deliberately chose this isolated facility at a time when a class was being taught. They may be fools for trespassing here, but they thought this through, so they're still intelligent fools."

"How's the signal working?" Thirteen asked.

"We only have internal communications," Aizawa said as he stepped forward, ready to confront the Villains. "We need to find a way to send help to the outside. Kaminari, try boosting the signal."

"Right!" Denki said, channeling his Quirk through his radio headset. As he did that, Aizawa began to jump into the fray.

"Aizawa-Sensei..." Izumi began as her teacher turned to her. "Please be safe."

"Hey, I'll make sure all you kids get out of this alive."

Aizawa leaped down the stairs. One of the Villains he was approaching smirked as he readied the gun barrels on his fingers.

"Okay, Shooting Squad! Get ready!"

He was joined by a heavyset patchwork villain with a bull helmet and a female villain with metal ropes for hair. They were quickly dispatched as Aizawa nullified their Quirks, grabbing two of the villains in his Capture Tape and slamming their heads together, knocking them out as he then moved and punched the last one in the face hard enough to take them out as well.

"Damn it!" one of the other Villains cursed as he saw what had happened. "That's Eraserhead! He can disable your Quirk just by looking at you!"

As Aizawa began taking out the approaching goons left and right, Shigaraki grunted in annoyance as he turned to his misty compatriot.

"Hey, Kurogiri, can you see those brats with Aka-Chan up there?"

The now-named Kurogiri looked up to the starting platform. "It appears that Thirteen is trying to evacuate them. Time for the Plan B."

In a flash, Kurogiri teleported himself to the teacher and students as they had been trying to make their way to the exit.

"I apologize for our rude intrusion but I think it's best if we introduce ourselves. We are the League of Villains and we have come to see All-Might breathe his last!"

"Bitch, you really think you can kill the #1 Hero so easily?!" Katsumi spat, already itching to jump at the mist man and blow him asunder.

"I don't think you realize what the Symbol of Peace truly is," Izumi said, her eyes narrowed as she protectively stood in front of the rest of her classmates. "Because all I'm hearing from you is that you just want to kill All-Might."

Kurogiri merely hummed darkly in response. "Speaking of which, I believe he was supposed to be here."

"He was running late, but when he gets here, you creeps will be sorry!" Ochako said, doing her best to put on a brave face.

"Should we rush him, Deku?" Katsumi asked as she leaned to Izumi.

Izumi shook her head. "He doesn't look like he has a physical form right now. Unless we can find a tangible core we'd only be getting ourselves sent who knows where. Besides, I think Thirteen has this."

Sure enough, Thirteen had popped open one of the lids on her gloves, allowing her to use her Quirk. Unfortunately, Kurogiri was faster on the draw.

"Foolish children, you'll only delay the inevitable resisting us!"

Kurogiri spread out his mist-like form to encompass the class. Akatani quickly formed a portal similar to Kurogiri's own and grabbed Tenya.

"Iida, you need to get help! I'm sending you to the entrance of UA! You gotta hurry and tell everyone!"

Tenya didn't have time to protest as he was thrown through the portal Akatani conjured and found himself landing at the front entrance of UA. He turned to see the portal close out of existence behind him and knew he needed to hurry.

"Don't worry everyone...I'll get help!"

Izumi found herself plummeting towards the waters of the Shipwreck Zone. Acting quickly, she thrust her hands out and the water burst out and formed a solid platform for her to land on, the construct having the consistency of a waterbed.

"That was close..." The Elemental Girl sighed before seeing Tsuyu bring Minoru onto the deck of the ship and jumped over to them, manipulating the wind to clear the distance as well as soften her landing.

"Tsu, Mineta-Kun, are you both okay?"

"Yeah, we're fine. Tsuyu had to save me from getting eaten by a Shark Villain but other than that, I'm alright...and in dire need of a change of pants." Minoru sighed as he coughed up some of the remaining water that was still in his mouth.

"This isn't how I imagined today was gonna go." Tsuyu said in a troubled tone. "Was that villain serious about killing All-Might?"

"Considering he wasn't afraid to send us to our supposed deaths," Izumi said with a frown. "I think he was very serious. They knew our whole schedule and had an idea of who was supposed to be here. I can only theorize that the security breach with the press the other day was a diversion for them to snag the school files."

"So what should we do now?" Minoru asked, feeling rather stressed about the situation. "We're sitting ducks! Only All-Might can take care of these Villains and he's late!"

"And that's another problem. That Shigaraki guy said the monster was made with All-Might in mind. You don't think the Villains actually have the means to kill him, do you, Midoriya?"

"First, we need to make it back to the entrance," Izumi said as she looked over the deck of the ship to see several Villains gathered, all eager to kill. "And we need to get past these guys first."

"Oh, man..." Minoru whimpered. "There's probably a few dozen of 'em! And no doubt there's more spread throughout the whole building!"

"Mineta, don't forget; We were chosen to be trained as Heroes." Tsuyu pointed out. "From the looks of it, most of these guys are just common street punks. It's not ideal, and they have the advantage of numbers. But we're not outclassed, either. And the others can easily fight against them."

"Y-You really think so?" Minoru asked, feeling a spring of hope well inside him as Izumi nodded in agreement.

"That's right, Mineta. We're Heroes, these guys are just creeps who walk up to get their butts kicked!"

Izumi held out her hand as Tsuyu and Minoru looked at it before quickly realizing what she was implying and placing their hands over hers.

"We're all in this together. And even if we do die...I'm glad to have gotten to know you as much as I have."

"You too, Midoriya." Tsuyu ribbited.

"Please don't mention the word 'die'." Minoru gulped. "I'm still a virgin."

True to Tsuyu's words, the members of Class 1-A who had gotten warped were already fighting back with everything they had.

Shoto was in the Landslide Zone, trapping a villain in ice. Melissa was also present, flying high in the sky and shooting concussive bolts of cosmic energy from her hands at any enemies that didn't get frozen.

Katsumi and Eijirou were taking out dozens of villains in the Collapse Zone, neither of them breaking a sweat.

Momo handed a created sword to Kyouka as the two of them, alongside Denki, faced down against a group in the Mountain Zone. Momo had also created a specially made shock baton that Denki could transfer his electricity through to empower its strikes.

Akatani was facing down foes in the Fire Zone, using a Fire Manipulation Quirk to pull the artificial flames towards him and send flying at the villains who dared approach him.

Fumikage and Kouji were in the Squall Zone, with the former crushing multiple enemies at once with his symbiotic partner, Dark Shadow while the latter used his Quirk, [Anivoice], to call in hordes of rats to swarm those who escaped.

The rest of the class, save for Tenya, were still at the entrance with Thirteen facing Kurogiri. Meanwhile, Shigaraki was watching the bulk of the villains get taken down by Aizawa.

"At this rate, All-Might won't even need to show up. Looks like I'll have to step in."
