Near the secret caves of Master Wortlop…

The con artists were enjoying tricking people for a living as they were counting their gold taken through deception.

As they were trying to enjoy the finer things in life, they soon heard clapping from the darkness. They were soon surrounded by witches in red hoods, with a young teenager standing before them.

"Nicely done, I have never seen such foolish imbecilic ignoramuses acquire so much gold from the weak and gullible." The girl with a mask scoffed at them as there was fear lingering in the air.

"W-who are you?" One of them stuttered in fright of the people.

"You know who we are. Your emperor has already made certain that all knew of our… reputation for purity." She answered as she looked at her artificial staff, which appeared to be a giant cross of gold with giant beads.

"The Blood Crusaders… But-but you were through! When Demona-."

"That is not important. What is important is that you can get richer." She answered as she presented a giant chest pushed forward.

Their eyes glimmered with delight.

"You know, collaborating with terrorists is a serious crime…" The leader grinned with greed.

"You'll get five more chests like this one when you do a little errand for us."

At the Owl House…

"Oh, it is welcoming to see you all again." She happily greeted them as Luz was certain that she could hear her father chewing even more.

"Such a pleasure."

Anyone could tell that his words were a big fat lie. Belos was already beginning to root a bit.

"What do you want now, Gwendolyn?" Eda groaned with annoyance.

"Edalyn, sweet little Witchlet, don't use my name in such a way. I am your mother after all." She reminded.

"MOTHER!?" Luz and Lilith gasped for different reasons.

"Luzura, this is Gwendolyn Clawthorne, a member of the royal family and extremely distant blood relative, only a drop in her bloodline." Belos introduced, "Gwendolyn, this is my daughter, Luzura."

"Oh, she's a cute little thing. I'm still surprised you are able to have your own considering the beast-."

"Don't go there." He warned.

"Oh, Edalyn when I heard what happened…. Oh, I should go out and find that cult. Give them a piece of my mind. Belos should have done something sooner." Gwen scoffed as the scouts looked a tad nervous.

"Get the Avian Advisor, quickly." The captain whispered to one of the scouts.

"You know, Mother. I was in danger too." Lilith voiced appearing in front of everyone.

"Oh, that's good to know, but I really need to check on your sister." The madam dismissed, saddening Lilith.

"And you don't have the right to complain since that mess was your fault." Belos reminded, adding insult to injury.

"Dad." Luz scolded again, but Gwendolyn wasn't paying attention.

"Edalyn after years of searching, training, and studying under the feet of the masters, I have finally finished my quest. Edalyn, I have found the cure to your beast." She declared with great certainty.

"Gwendolyn, for the final time, there is no-." Belos sighed.

"And I can certainly help you with your beast problem."

"I don't have a problem with my beast-."

"It's been great seeing you again, but I'm gonna pass on that." Eda dismissed, "Goodbye, good luck and see you next year."

She then mushed the palisman to cause Gwendolyn to fly away, Eda turning around as she felt relief, and Belos did too. But Luz and Lilith looked shocked.

"Eda, why did you do that to your mom!?" Luz questioned.

"I never even get her attention and yet she arrived to you with a cure!" Lilith complained.

"Look, my mom has always been bothering me with her 'cures' for my curse. Every year, she comes around with her little bogus remedies. They never worked." Eda scoffed as she crossed her arms.

"That woman always bothers me as well. Keeps driving me up the wall." Belos added as he finally feels his nerves calming down.

Soon, he spotted his trusted Palisman, Blue, who lands on his shoulder.

"Luzura, I'd advise you not to get involved in her fantasy world. Trust me when I say her head isn't screwed on straight. Though madness does run in our family, Gwendolyn is a new level of crazy." Belos warned as he was worn out, kissing his daughter on the forehead goodbye, "Sometimes family members have a falling out and there's nothing to be done about it."

In that last line, Luz could feel that it still stung her dad. She knows that her mom was still scared of this place, but she wants to show her mom that she can thrive there and that she didn't need to be scared anymore. Maybe Luz can reunite her own family again, but maybe she can help Eda's.

"Mother… visits you often… She didn't even come for my Coven enrollment ceremony or any of my achievements." Lilith uttered as she oozed with jealousy before heading inside.

"Eda-."

"Kid, as much I hate to say it but you should listen to your dad about this. There is no helping that woman." Eda scoffed and then headed inside as well.
