Harry sat at his desk while he played with his quill while he was lost in thought. He was still trying to process the last 24 hours. One moment Ron and Harry were chasing after one of their suspects and the next they were at Draco Malfoy's flat healing Ron and then in the morning the three were eating breakfast. It was weird which was saying a lot considering Harry had been in a lot of weird situations in his life. It's not that Harry wasn't grateful that Draco had healed Ron because he was. It was just weird to be around Draco and be civil. He knew Draco was trying to be a better person but it was just so hard for Harry to believe. He wanted to trust him, and he did but he just couldn't and he didn't know why. Well, he knew why. It was because when he looked at Draco it was like he was back at Hogwarts. Every second he looked at Draco all he could think about were memories that he had spent all these years bottling up. Harry knew one day was bottle would break. It was inevitable.

He just didn't think Draco Malfoy would be the one to break it.

Harry looked over at Ron who was looking better since having breakfast. "Ron," Harry said, trying to get Ron's attention. Their desks were near each other and not touching, but still close enough to have a hushed conversation. "Malfoy didn't do anything after we left. Did he?" Harry knew he was being paranoid but he couldn't help it.

Ron looked up from his paperwork. The two were on desk duty because of yesterday's disaster. "Besides moving me to his bed and fixing my trousers, no." He replied with a shrug. "He did a bloody good job. Look." He scooted his chair back, motioning to his thigh, "Can't even tell! Think he'd fix my dress robes?" Ron had a tendency of rambling to avoid certain conversations and now was one of those times but Harry wasn't going to let it slide.

Was Ron serious?

"What?" Harry asked as he was a bit surprised. "Fix your dress robes?"

Ron nodded, "It's missing a few buttons but I reckon if he could fix these then missing buttons shouldn't be an issue."

Harry put his quill down, "You want Malfoy to fix your dress robes? Draco Malfoy?" He asked for more clarification. "The same git who bullied the two of us and was a death eater?"

"Not this again." Ron groaned and leaned his head back against the chair with his face tilted towards the ceiling. He already knew where this conversation was heading. "Listen, mate, I'm not the biggest fan of him, either." Ron leaned back into the chair which caused it to lean back due to Ron's weight. "But hear me out," he said, "What I do know is since he's been hanging around George I've noticed a change in him. Don't say you haven't seen it too, because I know you have. You've been to the shop recently. He's inventing again. It feels like… you know, it feels like I have my brother back." Ron said, sighing. "I think- no, I know Malfoy's changing too. He apologized for Salazar's sake. He apologized to me." He motioned to himself, "Without even being asked to! I didn't think Malfoy was even capable of such things." He said, his tone a mix of sarcasm and shock, "And last night he healed me without insulting me from the moments I can remember. He didn't even call me weasel." He looked at Harry now, "If it means George is happy again because he's got a friend, then I'm happy. You saw how he was after the war and up until this year. I don't have to like the bloke to see that their friendships have been a good thing for them. If it helps, I don't like it any more than you do."

Harry hated when Ron started with serious speeches or maybe he hated when Ron was right.

"So you're not worried Malfoy's up to anything?" Harry questioned. Harry knew Ron had a point but he just couldn't accept it. He wasn't blind, he saw the change in both of them. He saw how over the last year George was becoming his old self but Harry was scared. He never had a family before so he wanted to protect them. Even though he hadn't been around Draco too much he saw how he treated George. How he always knew how to do or say what George needed. Harry noted the small things Draco did that Draco probably didn't realize he was doing like always having potions for every occasion on him to give to those around him. He also noted how Draco was more tolerable to be around too.

Ron gave Harry a small smile, "I'm bloody terrified but I trust George." He said then smirked, "Besides, he knows the second he does anything to George I'll throw so many curses at him that he'll wish he'd gone to Azkaban."

Harry shook his head and chuckled. "Okay," he said, crossing his arms, "You made your point."

"They remind me of us sometimes," Ron said.

Harry tried to refrain from rolling his eyes but he didn't have enough self-control. He didn't reply either, he just picked his quill back up and got back to his case report. There was no way George and Draco were like him and Ron that had to be a joke.

Their paperwork was enough to keep them busy for the rest of the day but Harry couldn't keep his mind off of what happened yesterday. He felt himself grow curious about the person Draco has become. They hadn't had nearly enough interactions for him to see much. Though, he'll admit he saw that Draco Malfoy was a caring person. He saw just how much Draco took care of those he cared for. At Hogwarts the other night he saw it first hand with George and taking care of him while he was drunk and last night with Ron to heal him. Granted, he didn't care for Ron but he knew the reason he took care of Ron was that he cared for George. He hadn't even protested or seemed upset to have to heal Ron, which surprised him. Draco just jumped into action and did what he could.

But one thing from last night stuck out to Harry. That spell. He heard it before but he didn't know where. Should he go ask Draco about it? It would be a nice spell to learn and would come in handy if something like this were to happen in the future.

Harry was curious.

Which is why he found himself entering Draco's potion shop after work. "Hello, one moment!" A voice called out from the back.

Harry walked over to the counter while he waited. The potions Draco had given him were amazing now that he thought about it. He had always known Draco was good at potions but now Harry got to see how firsthand.

Draco stepped out from the back, raising an eyebrow at him. "Potter?" He asked, confusion in his voice. "What can I do for you?"

"I wanted to ask you something." He said, now feeling a little embarrassed for being so awkward.

Draco leaned against the door frame and crossed his arms, "Let's hear it, then." He said. Harry could tell he was a bit tense but Harry didn't blame him considering he was tense himself.

Harry glanced at the counter for a moment while he tried to compose his thoughts. "That spell you did," he began. He was trying to choose his words carefully since he didn't want to come off the wrong way. "They didn't teach it at Hogwarts, but I've heard it before." He mentally cursed himself for sounding a little dumb. "I was just wondering what it was and how you learned it."

"Are you asking as an auror or as a friend?" Draco asked as he tilted his head. Did Draco just call him a friend?

"Friend I suppose." He responded in an unsure voice.

Draco took a deep breath, he almost looked a little sad. "Snape taught it to me. He used it to heal me when you and I…" he said, not finishing the sentence. He didn't have to. "It's a healing spell. Better than other healing spells as it'll even heal wounds caused by dark magic."

Harry couldn't look at Draco now. "Oh." He said. After some internal debating, he looked up at Draco again. "Can you teach me?" Harry asked before he could stop himself. "I feel like it could come in handy in case one of us gets hurt on the job again. You know, so we don't have to come and bother you again." Draco looked shocked at Harry's request, so much so he didn't answer for a few seconds. "You don't have to."

"Fine, I'll do it." He said, crossing his arms. "What days would work for you? It took me a while to learn so it might be a while for you too."

Harry smiled, "I can come after work or when you close the shop, any time works for me really."

Draco nodded, "Tomorrow after I close so let's say 8:30?"

Harry nodded, "That works." He said, "Thank you."

Draco shrugged, "Thank me when you've learned it." He said. Harry noticed Draco's discomfort about being thanked. It was strange since Draco did a lot of things that people would typically thank someone for.

"While I'm here can I get some more of those potions? The ones you had given me?" He asked, changing the subject as he now suddenly felt awkward. He hadn't known what else to say but it worked out since he had wanted to buy more of those potions.

Draco raised an eyebrow, "I'm shocked that you tried them." He said but turned around to grab the same vials of potions he had given Harry the last time. Harry only let his eyes trail over Draco for a few seconds. "Here." He said, placing them on the counter. Harry reached into his pocket to pull out some galleons but Draco waved his hand. "On the house again."

Harry was surprised again. "I can't just take them." He said, pulling out a few galleons.

Draco rolled his eyes, "Don't be stubborn. Take them."

Harry ignored Draco and placed the galleons on the counter. "Fine, consider it a donation." He said with a shrug. He hoped the number of galleons he placed on the counter would've covered the price of the potions but he couldn't be sure since he didn't know how much they were. "I'll see you tomorrow." He said, collecting his potions and slipping them into his pocket before leaving.

It was only when he stepped out of the shop that he realized what he had done. He was willingly allowing himself to spend time with Draco. He was letting Draco teach him a spell.

Merlin, this was truly a turn of events.

(Authors note:

I have this story on AO3 as well and I wanted to explain Ron and how I have made him as a character as someone on AO3 had brought this to my attention. So if you're thinking Ron is acting OOC for being "nice" and not mean as he is in most fictions here's my take on Ron:

Ron to me, as I've tried to make him in this fiction, is someone who has matured with trauma. Also with George being his brother I figure they'd share the same thoughts in some things such as how George sees his anger as something that may keep him stuck fighting the war in his head. Ron hasn't forgiven Draco, nor does he like him. Ron is tolerating Draco for George. Ron loves his family and he's seen that George's friendship with Draco has done George good. He also trusts his older brothers judgement even if he doesn't agree.

As most of this story is in Draco's POV there was also behind the scenes conversations had between George and Ron, which I didn't include as I'm a bit rusty at writing and don't feel like I relate to the characters so I don't think I could do them justice if I wrote in their pov. But I also did include a bit of development between Ron and Draco's interactions and development but if I didn't do it justice I apologize.

I really hope you guys are enjoying this as much as I'm enjoying writing it.)
