Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I am really happy and this inspired me to bring in the next chapter, and here Naegi is facing a problem after the Lancer debacle and what awaits him…
Well, read on and enjoy!
After momentarily pushing Archer back, and sensing that Kirigiri is a Master, Saber went towards her with the intent of taking her out, and realizing what Saber intend to do, Naegi rushed and stood in front of Saber, surprising her as she stopped her charge, and there Naegi asked Saber what is she doing, wanting to know why she suddenly targeting his classmate.
"Stop!"
"What are you doing?"
"I should be asking you that!"
"She's a master! Archer's master! She must be killed in order to defeat Archer!"
"She's my classmate!"
"…"
"I don't know what's going on here…but I don't want any innocent blood being spilled!"
"…"
Saber twitched her eyes as Naegi tells her not to attack Kirigiri, and when Archer resurfaces, Kirigiri tells him to stand down, and there Kirigiri tells Naegi that it appears that he too became the second person to get dragged into this mess, and the SHSL Luckster asked the SHSL Detective what she meant by that.
"Kirigiri-san…"
"…"
"Do you…know anything about this…?"
"…"
"What's going on here?"
"…"
"Please tell me!"
"…"

Back at the Naegi house, Naegi is being calmed by Kirigiri upon finding out that his parents and Komaru went missing, which Kirigiri said that she shared a similar situation when her grandfather also disappeared before Archer appeared, and there Kirigiri told Naegi how she ended up in this situation after Archer appeared and that a priest contacted her and tells her that she is amongst the CANDIDATES for a SPECIAL tournament.
"A…tournament…?"
"Yes."
"How does that fit in to all of this…? That blue-suited guy tried to kill me…then Saber appeared…and now my family disappeared all of the sudden…"
"For some reason…when that happened…a servant appeared…and you were randomly chosen…and it happened to me."
"Eh?"
"My grandfather disappeared before my eyes…then Archer appeared…and a man claiming to be a priest told me about this tournament…"
"Seriously…?"
"Yes."
Naegi blinked his eyes at hearing this and asked her what she means, which Kirigiri said that she too felt vague and said that it would be better if Naegi were to ask the priest for a detailed explanation, which Naegi asked where, and there Kirigiri said that the priest is awake at this time, and they should go there right now.
"Huh? Right now, you say…?"
"Yes."
"At this very hour…?"
"That's right."
"Do you know what you're saying? It's past the curfew announcement!"
"…"
"Are you saying that we should travel this late in the night?"
"Yes."
Naegi was staring in disbelief as the time now is 23:00, as Kirigiri said that their next destination would be at Fuyuki City, and there she RECOMMENDED that Naegi bring Saber along, just in case Lancer makes another attempt at ending the SHSL Luckster a third time.

Ch. 5: Kishi-gata sāvu~anto
About an hour later, the scene shifts at the border of Fuyuki City, and both Kirigiri and Naegi are staring cautiously as they are making sure that they are alone, while Saber is wearing a RAINCOAT to conceal her appearance as it might attract unwanted attention, and going here wasn't easy as they had to keep themselves hidden to avoid being seen by patrolling cops as curfew is currently enforced at this time.
After a few minutes Kirigiri, Naegi and Saber are walking the streets and so far nothing bad happened, except that some juvenile delinquents showed up as they are looking for people to rob, and thinking that Kirigiri, Naegi and Saber are carrying some cash, the delinquents confronted the trio and demanded that they hand over their valuables.
"Okay, you brats!"
"This is a stick-up!"
"Hand over your money!"
"And cellphone!"
"Give it to us!"
"We mean it!"
"Or else!"
"So give it to us now!"
As Kirigiri had Naegi back away, Saber confronted the delinquents and uses her invisible weapon to strike the ground, and this freaked the delinquents and they scampered away, terrified at what happened just now, and there Kirigiri told Naegi that they better get going before cops might come here.
As the two teens and Saber walked away, the scene shows that the delinquents were caught by patrolling policemen and there the delinquents are taken into custody, which they told them about Saber, though the cops dismissed it as they think that they are trying to talk their way out.
"Okay…enough with the stupid alibi…"
"But it's true!"
"The blond-haired foreign bitch is carrying an invisible weapon!"
"She wrecked the ground!"
"Come along now…"
"But…"
"But…"
"But…"

At the police station, one of the cops came and talked to the superintendent, informing him that the Remnants Of Despair MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARED, as they are not inside their cells yet the cell doors were not picked, as they remained locked and that there were no signs of breach as the walls, ceiling and the floor are intact.
"What was that?"
"You heard me, sir! The Remnants Of Despair members are gone!"
"How is that possible?"
"I don't know! I just checked the cells…they all disappeared! There were no holes…the cell doors are locked! And the ceiling is intact!"
"There is no way that has happened!"
"…"
"Are you sure about what you said?"
"Yes!"
The superintendent was surprised to hear this and had the cop lead him to the site, and upon inspection the superintendent is now baffled as to how the Remnants Of Despair are able to escape as there are no holes and that none of the guards are harmed, as the keys to the cell are in the guards' possession.
He then ordered an emergency manhunt to find the Remnants Of Despair and have them recaptured before they might cause more trouble than what they did before, as the superintendent doesn't want to experience what happened before, and told his other subordinate to alert every nearby precinct about the current situation.
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"

Within Fuyuki City, the scene shifts outside Kotomine Church, where Kirigiri said that this is the address that the priest gave her, and said that the priest himself may answer Naegi's questions about what is going on here.
Entering the church, which they noted that it looked quote abandoned, Kirigiri brought Naegi in and Saber decided to wait outside as the two teens went inside and there she called out for Kotomine, and the priest came and is quite surprised at what he is seeing, and there she explained to him about the situation where Naegi became a Master yet he is unaware of how he summoned Saber in the first place.
"So this boy here is another case similar to yours, eh…?"
"Yes."
"An ordinary person…"
"That is correct."
"I see. Another master…"
"Are you going to tell Naegi what you told me before…?"
"Yes, of course."
"…"
Kotomine smirked and decided to give Naegi some partial answers as to what happened to him, and there Kotomine informed Naegi of the situation he is in and said that to get any wish he wants, including on how to save his parents and Komaru the caller, Kotomine, tells him that he must defeat other Masters until one is left.
Naegi stared in disbelief and it took a while to figure out what he was told, and deduced that this is similar to the botched school life of mutual killing, except that this one appeared unconventional and involved something that is not ordinary, and there Naegi asks if there is any way to defeat any participants without killing, which Kotomine expected that Naegi would ask this seeing that the teen boy is like Kirigiri, who doesn't resort to violence, and there Kotomine said there is, and there he said that all Naegi needed to do is kill his opponent's servant, and once that happened, the rival master will be automatically be disqualified from the tournament.
"That's all?"
"Yes. That is all."
"So I can have my...partner...defeat these other so-called Servants, and my human opponent will be out? And he/she can be defeated without them getting killed...?"
"Yes. Once your opponents' Servants are taken out, your fellow opponents will be out of this tournament...and once you become the remaining one...you shall win and claim the Holy Grail. There you can have any wish granted...be it what you choose or desire. Such as getting your family back."
"If so, I can take them out without necessary killing?"
"Indeed...that is how you choose to win."
"..."
"Do you have any other questions, child?"
While this momentarily gave Naegi some relief, he asks him why is he chosen to become a master when he never chose to become one in the first place, which Kotomine vaguely said that certain situations may have caused something to have her unknowingly become one which may also explained why she was given a servant in the first place.
Kotomine then told Naegi the same thing to Kirigiri, that once the other participants are eliminated, he can claim the Holy Grail and make a wish, and when Naegi asked about it, he told him what he knows, though he covertly did not elaborate so as to not make him feel suspicious.
He then advises Naegi and Kirigiri to be careful as other masters might show up anytime and attack them suddenly, and hearing enough, Kirigiri took Naegi and left the meeting place, as her detective instinct tells her that something is off about this meeting, and she could not shake off the feeling that this tournament involving masters and servants is somewhat similar to the failed mutual school life killing, and she decided to head home and rest while awaiting any future events that might help give her a clue on how to find and rescue her grandfather.
She then tells Naegi to keep his smartphone open, saying that later on they have something to discuss regarding their current predicaments and tells him that he has to be ready for anything, as she suspect that other masters that might show up could range from power-hungry to the serial killer-like individuals.
"Be careful. From hereon things are bound to get more troublesome."
"Okay."
"And make sure you charge your phone. I might call you anytime."
"Eh?"
"We have much to discuss, as we might need a viable strategy given the current situation."
"…"
"Shall we…?"
"Fine."
To Be Continued...
Hope you liked this chapter, and while there's no action involved, Naegi got some partial ideas on how and why he got dragged in this version of the Holy Grail war…
The Remnants Of Despair are said to have escaped…what would this mean…?
