Ford couldn't breathe. He wondered why that was… After a few moments of pondering, he came to the conclusion that this could become a problem if left unattended. Just as he was about to consult his Guide on alternate methods of converting what he thought should be CO2, it slowly floated past his face pursued by a small yellow creature with fins.
"Hey, back off!" Ford yelled, snatching the book out of the fish's path. That was what he had intended to yell but what had actually come out sounded more like, "Bley, bwab blarff!"
The fish, having lost its mysterious glowing square, shot Ford the most dissatisfied and irritated glace it could muster and swam off.
Being an intergalactic hitchhiker, Ford didn't have to consult the Guide to know that he wasn't going to like a planet that allowed animals to evolve with the ability to look dissatisfied. His opinion would be reaffirmed years later after meeting the ape-evolved creature known as Arthur Dent, who was very good at looking dissatisfied.
