Jewels: Welcome back to Sands of the Mind.
Marik: She does not own Yu-Gi-Oh.
Jewels: Thank you for the disclaimer.
Marik: You're welcome.
JEWELS' POV
The first duel was between the Yugi and Bakura…well it turned out to be Yami Bakura. I won't go into all the details, but I will say a few things about it…scary eyes, Marik doing some strange things, and his servant (whose name I found out was Odion) showed up at a very convenient time.
Sasha yawned as we headed back to our room. "I'm beat," she said as she opened the door to our room.
I was going to head to bed but I watched as Marik headed to his room. "I'll be back in a little while," I said.
"Mmhmm," I heard her say.
I walked to his room and opened the door and saw Marik sitting at a desk and playing with the ice cubes in a glass of juice.
"How come you're not heading to bed like everyone else?" he asked once he heard the door close.
"What happened up on the roof?" I asked, "You were acting very odd."
"That's none of your concern," he said.
"It had something to do with Bakura, didn't it?" I asked.
"Drop it and leave it alone," he said looking towards me with anger in his eyes.
I nodded and just stood there and he turned back to his glass.
"You can leave," he said.
"My feet won't move," I said honestly.
He turned and looked at me, this time his eyes were softer. He stood up and walked over to me and looked down at me. "And why won't they move," he asked cupping my cheek with his hand.
"I…I don't know," I replied closing my eyes for a second and then opening them to see that his lips were close to mine, "Tell me about your dreams Marik."
His hand slid down from my cheek and he moved away from me and leaned against the foot board of the bed. "You and me were always in a bed in a field of flowers, you would either tell me that it could be my reality…or that you wanted to help me," he said looking at the ground searching his memory, "Every time the dream started my head was either in your lap or you were next to me with your head on my chest. You were wearing this dark green and black silk dress that stopped at your knees." He stopped and looked at me. I guessed he was trying to picture me in the dress.
"Anything else?" I asked.
"You would always run your hand lightly down my cheek and you would go to kiss me…but your red lips would never meet mine," he said.
"Like this?" I asked walking over to him and lightly running my hand down his cheek before kissing him.
"Yes, like that," he said pulling away and then kissing me again.
For the second time that day I found myself up against the wall, but this time he was happy. *Coughs* Very happy.
I pulled away and I was out of breath from our make-out session, but I was able to get a few words out. "I think that's enough for now Marik," I said as he started to trail kisses from my jaw line down to the crook of my neck, "Marik…please stop."
He pulled away and looked at me for a second and then walked over to the bed and laid down facing the wall.
'Oh…my…god…he's pouting,' I thought. I sighed and walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. "Marik you have to understand something…I do think you are very handsome…but we just need to take things a little slower, I don't like to rush into things," I said.
He turned his head and looked at me and I smiled. He sighed and looked back at the wall.
"Fine go ahead and pout," I said crossing my arms, "But it won't work." I leaned over and kissed his cheek and I went to leave but he grabbed my wrist and then let it go.
I sighed sat on the bed and then laid down next to him. He turned over and looked at me apparently surprised by my actions.
"I'll stay," I said knowing that's really all he wanted at that point. I knew that deep down Marik wasn't an evil person and that it was the Yami trying to control him…even though in the vision that I had he had created the Yami when he was younger out of anger towards his father.
He leaned over and kissed my forehead and then turned onto his back. I laid my head down on my arm and slowly drifted off into sleep.
MARIK'S POV
I watched Jewels fall asleep out of the corner of my eye and once she was asleep I looked up at the ceiling. 'Why is it that even though she knows that I'm a monster she wants to be so close to me?' I thought.
'She wants the Millennium Rod,' my Yami's voice echoed through my head.
'She doesn't want the Millennium Rod…she knows that's what is causing all my pain,' I thought.
'You saw her try and pick it up earlier…she wants it for herself,' he said.
'No she doesn't!' I thought loudly, 'She would never want that…she is a kind person and…she's so beautiful.'
'Get your head out of the clouds you fool we have a job to do,' he said.
'Go away and let me sleep,' I thought closing my eyes. I was soon drifting off into a sleep with a pleasant dream.
DREAM
"Marik…open your eyes Marik," I heard Jewels say.
I opened my eyes and once again I was on that bed in that field of flowers…a place that I hadn't been since I found Jewels.
"I know that you're really sleeping right next to me," I said, "Why am I having this dream."
"Because I want to know what it is that you really want," she said as I sat up, "And I know that outside of this dream you won't really tell me what you want."
"We're sharing a dream this time aren't we?" I asked.
She nodded.
"So tell me…what do you want?" she asked again.
"Can't really tell," I confessed, "My body is telling me that I want you…because you are the most beautiful creature I have ever laid eyes on." I ran down her arm to her hand giving her goose bumps. I kissed her hand and she gave a small smile.
"Why else can't you tell what you want?" she asked.
I then reached over the side of the bed and plucked a red rose. "My heart is telling me that I just want you to love me…with all your heart," I replied and I tucked the rose behind her ear, "And then my Yami…is basically telling me to push you away."
"You have to make the decision on what you want Marik," she said moving some of my hair out of my eyes, "Please don't let your Yami run your life."
"I want you to love me…mind, body-" she put a finger on my lips.
"And soul," she finished. She looked towards a tree that was in the field and saw my Yami. "He scares me Marik," she said looking away from him.
"I know," I said.
"Marik?" she asked.
"Yeah?" I asked looking into her loving chocolate brown eyes.
"In my vision I saw you when you were little holding up a flower necklace that you made for your sister," she said, "Could you make me one?"
Before I could answer everything went dark.
END OF DREAM
I opened my eyes and saw Jewels sitting up in bed he knees pulled up to her chest and her chin resting on her knees. The sun was already shinning through the windows and the smell of breakfast was drifting down the hallways.
"Go get some food," I said.
JEWEL'S POV
I looked at him and nodded and left the room. Coincidentally I walked out of the room the same time Sasha walked out of her room. She looked at me and raised her eyebrow.
"There you are Ms. I'll be back in a few minutes," she said walking towards me.
"I'm sorry…but I promise you that we didn't DO anything," I said, "Well we did make out but that's ok right?"
She looked at me and smiled and then frowned and then smiled again.
"Can't make up your mind whether you're happy or not for me?" I asked.
"I just don't want you getting in to deep," she said before walking ahead of me.
I groaned and leaned against the wall and slid down to the floor. "Can't for once my life be uncomplicated?" I asked looking at the ceiling.
-Later-
The next duel was between "Marik" and Joey. I stood next to the real Marik and I looked over at Sasha who was holding hands with Yugi. I pointed from her to him and she nodded. I gave her the thumbs up. I then looked at Marik who was holding the Millennium Rod behind his back.
"Please don't," I said putting my hand on his arm, "Joey is one of my best friends."
He pulled his arm away and looked back at the duel.
"Don't get cocky Joey," I said at one point as I rubbed my temples.
Later on in the duel Odion tried to summon this Egyptian God card, but it didn't work out to well and something happened to Marik when Odion fell to the ground. He grabbed his head and had to start fighting back his Yami.
"Marik," I whispered.
All of a sudden I was pushed to the ground and everybody looked over towards us. I looked up at Marik and his hair was all freaky and there was a bright gold eye in the middle of his forehead, like the one on the Millennium Rod. Sasha rushed over to me and put her arms around me.
"It's his Yami," I said as tears started to slowly roll down my cheeks, "He broke free."
"Yes and thank to you, you softened him up," Yami Marik said, "How does it feel knowing that you sent another person that you loved…strait into their destruction."
I looked at the Millennium Rod knowing that's how he knew about my mother.
"You bastard!" Sasha yelled.
I got out of her grasp and ran to the elevator crying. I knew that he was just trying to get into my head, but all the same…he was right. I went to mine and Sasha's room and locked the door behind me. I just wanted to be left alone…I was going to have to admit it…I fell in love with Marik…the kinder one…and now he was gone.
Jewels: Gosh that's some bad luck. Stay tuned to see what happens next.
