That day still haunts you

He shouldn't have said it - "mudblood" - and you KNOW that. You KNOW you should never talk to him again. And you know that's what he expects from you

(even if he doesn't want that)

(And nor do you really - it's time to be honest with yourself)

But even though he called you that wicked wicked name (that you didn't even know the meaning of ten years ago)

You still want him around.

Still.

And it's not fair - it would be so easy to hate him, it would stop people staring ("her and Snape? friends? yeah right.") They would understand if you never spoke to him again, if you abandoned him.

But you can't.

Because...

...Well, because he was always there.

...He got you through the hard times.

...He was the only one who could follow you into this crazy world, and he did, holding your hand all the time.

...He held you the nights you cried over stupid, annoying, immature, but so goddamn beautiful James Potter.

...He said he wouldn't leave you.

...He doesn't r e a l l y believe in the Death Eater cause - does he? (No - you won't believe it)

...He's S e v e r u s. Doesn't that count for anything?

...He needs a hand to hold. He needs someone to believe in him. He needs you, Lily Evans.

And as much as logic denies it, as much as your House forbids it, as much as your mind resents it and as much as your soul laments it...

Your heart needs him, and is proud of it.

.oOo.

Ummm...ok. So I'm not sure if everything I want comes across here, but I just wanted to try something a little different is all.

Review and let me know what you think!
