Author's note: Hey everyone sorry it took awhile for chapter 4 and I'm afraid chapter 5 is going to take a while. As much as I love writing stories for all of you to read, I can't completely neglect my school duties. Thank you for your reviews alilesixteen and morganxwillxlivex6! Much appreciated, really! I'm not posting my stories for the reviews but it feels great when you can get some feedback.
Alright well enough of my nonsense, enjoy!

Chapter 4:
Pain Runs Deep
Arcia had already returned to Forks and hid high up in the woody mountains. It was peaceful here, the clouds loomed above like a blanket of snow, and the trees encompassed her, providing shelter. She sighed and looked down at her hands. Was she really that much of a monster? Had the future she foretold been true? Would she hurt those she loved most? It seemed impossible at the time, but she had foreseen it.
"What kind of immortality is this!?" She yelled to the sky above. "I never asked for this!" She curled her hands into fists and struck at the clouds. Surprisingly the shear power of her punch was enough to make the clouds swirl, leaving a rather large hole in the blanket.
"I'm sorry." The words were spoken quickly and soon faded into black.
Arcia tensed; she was not alone. She scanned the area, sniffed the air, looked into her future, but no one but Alice and Rosalie could be seen. Who had spoken to her? She ran through the woods once more, hoping to catch the scent of the intruder.
"Arcia!" It was Alice's voice.
'Damn I forgot to block against her powers!' Arcia thought to herself.
'Alice leave me alone, I'm not good for you.' Arcia relayed to her mind.
'Yes you are! The future we see is not set in stone!' She cried back.
This made Arcia stop; what if she could change the future she had seen? She didn't have to be the killer she should become. She could make all the difference. Alice caught up quickly.
"Please just listen to me. The things we see, they could change instantly." Alice whispered into Arcia's ear. "Don't go." She pleaded.
Arcia turned back to look at Alice and found something she never expected to find again. A home. Within her eyes, she saw the comfort that waited for her. Arcia didn't know what to do. The future she saw was still there and it frightened her. Before she could make another sudden escape Alice put her arms around her. The young vampire froze at the contact. She could not resist the comfort that Alice was offering and slowly wrapped her own arms around her. She held on tightly, her nose mingling with the black locks that were Alice's. She closed her eyes and took in the scent.
"I want to stay, but I'm afraid."
Alice clutched tighter.
"I know what you saw, and it doesn't have to be that way."
"And what if it does?"
"It won't, I promise." Alice soothed out the girl's hair.
Arcia let herself be cradled in Alice's arms; she never thought she could feel so secure in anyone's arms. She looked past Alice to see Rosalie, arms across her chest and standing a good distance away; she was wary of the girl's reactions. Arcia knew the blonde vampire only meant to be a sister to her, but for some reason only Alice could offer her comfort. She had often wondered why she felt so uncomfortable around the other vampires, but could not pin point the exact problem. It made no sense to her, yet.
"Alice, you have to promise me." Arcia started, her voice shaking slightly. "If you still see that future after a good two months from now…then, promise me, you'll kill me." Her words so simply said.
Alice froze; her body becoming harder.
"Kill you?" Alice hissed, not at all liking the suggestion. "I can't kill you!"
"If I could kill myself, I would! Promise me!" She looked up, pleading into the golden eyes of Alice. "I won't let anyone else but you kill me, if it ever comes to that. It has to be you Alice."
"Fine, but it's not going to happen." Alice muttered back as she brushed a stray hair out of Arcia's face.
"I'm just getting some insurance; we always need to be prepared for what we can see…and those things we cannot." She added hopefully at the end.
Arcia eyed Rosalie once again, as she pondered on her future. Would she really be the one to destroy the Cullen family? She shuddered at the thought. The images passed by in a painful blur. She watched as she ripped Rosalie to shreds; she watched as Emmett tumbled down like a great bear and could almost feel how it would to rip his cold, hard flesh; she watched as she flew towards Carlisle and Esme, poised to attack her, but she knew they could not stop her; she watched as Jasper pounced on her back, but his movements were too slow, and she easily threw him off; she watched as Edward made his last stand and charged at her with a madness she had never witnessed before, in his eyes, but the most painful thing to watch was Alice. She crawled up on the floor, looking…no, pleading into Arcia's eyes as the flames twisted and licked the Cullen's home hungrily. She had to stop watching, it was too much for her non-beating heart to take.
"Let's go home." Rosalie said suddenly with a beautiful smile.
"That's a good idea; maybe we can talk about this some more in the privacy of our home." Alice offered and took Arcia's hand. "Then we'll have to go hunting again, for your sake."
"I am rather surprised she didn't eat that girl at the store today." Rosalie pondered, walking on the other side of Arcia. "How do you do it?"
"It disgusts me." Arcia replied, masking her embarrassment.
"That's a new one." Rosalie laughed, filling the air with joyous bells. "Wait until Jasper hears that."
"Jasper?" Arcia questioned.
Alice frowned slightly. "He doesn't know what to make of you Arcia, since you don't act like a normal, new born vampire, and it throws him off a little." She explained.
"Oh." Arcia said quickly; she already knew the answer, but perhaps if she tried to be a little more normal, she wouldn't feel like an outcast in the vampire world.
"Sooo…" Rosalie started, and try as she might, Arcia could not help but read her thoughts. Arcia's brows furrowed in slight annoyance and anger at the thoughts. "You don't like Edward?"
Alice threw Rosalie a menacing look, but she ignored it completely as she smiled brightly towards Arcia.
"He's…not my type." Arcia spoke softly and shrunk away from the blonde, who seemed just about ready to explode with confusion.
"Now that's a new one!" Rosalie exclaimed as she let her harmonious bells of laughter ring. "I thought he would be any young girls' type." She added afterwards.
"He looks happy with Bella." Arcia stated, knowing it would strike a sour chord with Rosalie.
Rosalie's face cringed with despise at the mention of Bella's name. Bella was a recent attraction Edward had fallen for, but she knew it could NEVER work out. She knew Bella was trouble from the first day Edward had reacted so strongly towards her. For one, she would not have a human girl tear apart her family. Arcia shuddered. How ironic that Rosalie would actually have to worry about the newly turned vampire ripping her family apart than she would have to about the human girl.
"Stupid, human girl mingling with vampires." Rosalie muttered. "She doesn't belong with us!"
"You're the only one that doesn't like her." Alice added in defensively; Bella was like a sister to her.
Rosalie snorted; somehow she pulled it off graciously, and stared out into the distance. She would not fall easily for Bella like the others had done.
"You smell that?" Rosalie asked suddenly, glancing warily at Alice.
"Yes." Alice then glanced at Arcia with worry. Would she lose control in the woods, if she smelled human blood, could she feast on them if they were secluded?
"A human." Arcia said out loud for them and shrugged nonchalantly; she clearly wasn't interested in their worries. "Stop thinking that." She groaned to Rosalie who still eyed Arcia cautiously. "You paint the most horrid images in your head."
Alice chuckled slightly at Arcia's newly shown character; perhaps she wasn't as unsocial as she had first thought. Arcia feebly smiled to Alice, happy that she was content at her mood. She had known that Alice worried deeply of her social ways, but Arcia could not do much about that. It was simply the way she was. It didn't help that the house was filled with the most curious vampires the world was sure to ever know, that wondered about her past, just as much as she did.
Arcia sighed then and her mood darkened. How had she lived before becoming a vampire? Was she still the same person? It bothered her to even feel the want to know about her dead past. For it was very much dead in her eyes. More importantly…how had she become a vampire? She would get to the bottom to this and Alice would help her. She was all she had; Alice was her rock; the thought lightened her face a bit.
"What are you thinking about?" Alice asked as they stepped up to the door of their house.
Arcia bore her gaze straight into Alice's; debating, whether or not she should tell Alice of her plans. She saw the worry and the curiousness that swirled within the golden orbs. She cocked her head to the side, wondering why Arcia was staring at her so intently. She felt like a puzzle that was being scrutinized by the cleverest of eyes.
"Alice, I want to know more about me." Arcia stated with some strength. "I want to know…who I was, before all this happened to me. I need to know."
It was here that both knew of the journey ahead. The journey to find Arcia's human identity and the quest to find who had turned her, all began at the porch steps of the Cullen residence. Alice smiled back, her lip curving into the perfect smirk.
"I was wondering when you'd ask!"
Author's note: Sorry it was kind of short, but I had to get something out. Much of a writer as I may be, suspense burns me on the inside and I can't put my readers through so much without having another chapter for them to read. Just so you know Chapter 5 will take a while, but any suggestions would be nice. I am pretty open minded for being so young.
