"Class dismissed!" shouted professor sprout over the rabble of screaming Mandrakes, it was replanting season so Neville offered his class as volunteers. Luna was the one who seconded the idea; the two had spent the past 3 lunch breaks repotting the Mandrakes so there weren't many for the rest of the group to re-pot. As everyone burst through the doors on the humid Friday evening, Neville stayed behind to clear up. Once he was done, he left the greenhouse, thanking Professor Sprout and exiting to get some slightly cooler air. Much to his surprise, Luna Lovegood had stayed behind after class,
"L-Luna, I didn't expect to see you here!" Neville jumped at the unexpected sighting, Luna straightened up and adjusted her Ravenclaw branded uniform,
"Actually Neville, I was waiting for you, I wanted to wander back to the castle with you" she sang in her soft, velvet toned voice, Neville, blushing slightly, smiled and 'macho-ed' up, taking Luna's heavy books from her arms as the two headed back to the castle together, discussing all manner of enchanting plants.
"Well, this is my Common room" Luna sighed slightly as she admired the painting before her, Neville knew if he didn't say something now, he wouldn't get another chance like this,
"Luna, would you like me to carry your books to your dorm for you?" he asked hinting he didn't want to say goodbye just yet, Luna, although a free spirit, free minded and, let's face it – a strange, unique individual couldn't help but be drawn in by Neville and his awkward charms, a smile crossed her pale face,
"Of course Neville, would you be a gentleman and help me like that?" she smiled, answering the riddle, the two stepped inside, their common room was different from the Gryffindor common room, exactly the same size and formation but the drapes, sofa's and carpets were all blue and yellow. Luna caused Neville to jump once more when she took him by the elbow and guided him up to the girls' dorm.
The dorm was empty, but it was immediately apparent which bunk was Luna's, she had hung tinsel and coloured drapes with magical creatures on, a beautiful handmade quilt and glowing decorations all over the four poster bed, Neville noticed the air smelt of flowers, more specifically, geraniums and lavender.
