I awake to the cackling of a humungous, black crow. The malicious sound screeches from the blood-stained beak of the deathly and elegantly-evil beast that rings in my ear. It swoops gracefully through the creepy, eerie trees that nip at each other's tired, dried, sharp limbs. As it disappears in the long stretch of wood I see down the large bank, that descends from my twisted body, and into the mist, I take in the new, vast, fairytale of a world around me. I suddenly feel vulnerable to the sheer size of this unreal place. The trees tower tall, and dead, black leaves fall sadly onto the overgrown ground. Unfamiliar screams of wild animals pinch every single inch of my skin. The mist slyly seeps through the thick, threatening trees, and it whispers disgusting things into your ear. The grey, cloudy sky bellows and rumbles as in to be disturbed by me. Everything around me resents my presence. Where am I?
I shakily try to stand on my rickety knees. My legs give way and I nearly land back onto the dusty, contaminated ground. The world spins around me. The trees swing in and out of my view. The darkness closes in around me, crushing my wheezy chest- making it hard to breathe. I manage to stumble onto my limp feet, but I don't dare move them, just in case I get trapped in limbo, all the way down on the ground again. My vision slightly recovers, and I'm able to stand still. So I try to register the place around me. Even though my heart is pounding, I cannot deny this is an absolutely magnificent place.
