-Kasumi-chan.
P.s, i know my style altered a little, but with age comes 'maturity' or whatever...i don't believe it either, but hey; what can ya do ne?
"Ne, naruto, why don't we go and see how kakashi-sensei is doing at the hospital ttebane?" I suggested as we walked through the village gates, coming back from our encounter. "Sure aneki; with any luck tsunade baa-chan will be there so we can report ttebayo." He said slightly serious, in light thought. "Maybe." We fell silent as we jumped from roof to roof, making our way to the hospital to see our sensei. "Here we are!" I announced to myself landing in front of the hospital. We walked up to the doors opening them to go inside only to have our senses immediately bombarded by the smell of cleaners and illness.
'I hate coming here ttebane. The chemicals always overwhelm my senses.' I mentally gagged walking towards the reception desk. 'Yeah me too ttebayo.' Naruto mentally gagged, the smells assaulting him too. "Excuse me; we need kakashi hatake's room number. We're his teammates ttebane." I called lightly, getting the nurses' attention as we stopped in front of the desk. "He's in room 12." The nurse chirped motioning to the left hand side, not looking up from her patient files. "Arigatou ttebayo." Naruto called over his shoulder to the nurse as we walked to the room.
"Yo kakashi-sensei, how are you ttebane/ttebayo?" we waved in greeting as we came in walking over to stand between his bed and the window to find him laying down, just waking up by the looks of it. "I'm just waking up actually. But as far as I can tell, I'm fine. Oh, both of you and talking at the same time is kind of scary." He said tiredly before the door opened seconds later so tsunade could walk in the room with shizune behind her and then sakura, who made her way over to stand beside naruto and me.
"The hell you are. Thanks to that sharingan, you won't be moving for quite a while. A week at best; and you're right; that is kind of scary." was baa-chan's barbed retort. "Nonsense, I'm pretty sure I can- He was cut off by a wave of pain as he tried to sit up. "Take it easy kakashi, you need to rest…" naruto and I stopped paying attention as the sheet covering his face moved downward a little. 'Maybe if we lean to the side a little, we can see under it ttebane.' I suggested playfully, a devious glint in my slightly narrowed eyes.
'Good idea. Let's try it ttebayo.' He snickered mentally as we both leaned over, eyes narrowed in concentration, willing the sheet to move or let us see under it, when suddenly, as soon as we did so, we felt the room drop a degree or four. When we looked it was sakura giving us an icy glare. 'Oops. Hehe….' We thought sheepishly as we both put a hand behind us to rub the back of our head in our ever-famous expression of feeling in trouble while we laughed a little causing her look to go from annoyed to slightly freaked-out before she shook her head in defeat.
'Wow…we must really be freaking people out by how alike we are ttebayo.' Naruto mused as he looked at me. 'Yeah, but it's not like we can help it after all. We're twins…identical twins at that ttebane.' I sniggered slightly as I nodded sagely. 'True, very true.' Naruto agreed, also nodding sagely. "Shishou!" sakura called as I saw her follow tsunade and shizune out of the room. "I need to talk to them. See you in a few minutes ttebane." I whispered to naruto before following them. "Is this regarding that information?" I heard tsunade's voice as I neared the two. "Hai." Sakura replied quickly.
"Have you told kakashi?" I heard baa-chan's inquiry as I almost reached them. "No. Given his current condition…" came the hesitant reply. "What about naruto and kasumi?" tsunade asked, a very slight, almost undetectable amount of exasperation in her voice. "I thought I should talk to you first, shishou." She guiltily gave her response before I caught up to them. "Consulting the hokage without the head of anbu at her side on a matter of enemy informants is considered…very dangerous. After all, even though the hokage has final say, the head of anbu is to be clued in so as to give mission tactics and approval ttebane."
I sounded behind them in a tone of authority and scolding making sakura jump from being startled and swung around to try to punch me. "What the hell kasumi?" she shouted as I caught the punch. "I'm trying to be a well- informed head of anbu." I drawled sending some battle chakra in to her, causing her to wince in pain at the glass shard-like foreign chakra in her system. "Now, since I am here, shall we continue to discuss the plan about this mission to Tenchikyo ttebane?" I mused, looking to baa-chan who nodded her approval.
"We'll talk at the tower." She replied shortly before we fell silent, and made our way to the tower. "Go on then. I have recruits to keep in line ttebane." I ushered as sakura climbed the last step to the top. Then start her explanation of events, leaning up against the hokage tower's wall. "It's what I was told by the Akatsuki member sasori no aka suna as a reward of sorts for defeating him." She relayed while she looked at tsunade, looking for her shishou's thoughts. "Are you sure you can trust your source? What if it's a trap?" tsunade baa-chan instantly shot back, obviously not believing that an enemy would give away something like that. 'I think I'll speak up now'. I mused when sakura looked like she was grasping at straws.
"Well baa-chan, considering the situation, I'm almost positive we can trust it ttebane. I doubt a dying man would lie like that. No-one is that loyal, criminal status or not. And even if it is, we'll just kick their asses until they 'fess up for real dattebane." I affirmed without a doubt, the thought of sinking my claws into orochimaru's spy enticing before I pulled myself in check. "Fight? Kakashi is out of commission and team seven has been undermanned ever since sasuke left." She countered impatiently, wanting to hear what we had to say about it. 'Okay, we'll play this game. Beware baa-chan; it's a game I play very well dattebane.'
I mentally chuckled before speaking to shoot her last 'objection' down. "Well, assign you-know-who as a temporary taichou and get on with it ttebane! And as for the team being undermanned, I'll be going in this little trip. However, I do recommend another teammate to accompany us." I countered smoothly her impatience gone to a contemplative look. "Tsunade-sama, I believe that we should keep naruto-kun and kasumi-chan in the village for this mission. Due to their, uh, roommates, we should consider the danger of- Shizune who finally spoke, started to voice a negative was immediately by me cutting her off viciously.
"Danger of what nawaki-san; danger of losing control? Do you honestly believe kyuu-nii would hurt us or are the elders' whisperings going to your head dattebane? If there is any concern of kyuu-nii escaping, chalk it because even if naruto lost control due to rage,-not kyuu-nii- the taichou baa-chan and I are assigning would take care of it with me there to help so quit you're worrying and have a little faith." I exasperated, my mini-rant coming to a close. "That's very true. Besides, what would naruto say if he heard this?" baa-chan inquired amusedly with a half-smile, obviously knowing something that they didn't. "I-I'm sorry. You're right I should have-"
"It's fine. We'll just look for another teammate ne, naruto?" I said a little louder as I tilt my head up toward the top of the hokage tower. "Yeah." He voiced as he revealed himself to be standing up on top of the tower before he jumped down to the railing beside tsunade baa-chan and me and whispered "Ja." Before jumping down to the streets below, with me behind as I created a clone that jumped and crouched on the railing as he did and whispered a quick "Ne." finishing the sentence and joining his search for a temporary teammate. "Koharu, speak." I called to the elder as I sensed her presence nearing us. "Ah, kasumi-chan, sharp as always; Come, we have something to discuss in the elder's office." She finished solemnly as she turned to leave.
In The Elder's Chambers
"Speak." I ordered the elders, earning a pointed glare as we shut the door behind us and tsunade baa-chan sat down across from them. "We have been talking to shizune about this… situation, as it were. And, having weighed the benefits and risks, we have decided that naruto and kasumi should stay inside the village and have limited movement, with a decrease in missions as well. Normally they wouldn't leave the village at all, AND have them under constant supervision so rest assured we are truly being generous here." Homura voiced calmly with a barely detectable hint of smugness to his voice as tsunade glared at shizune for half of what she was worth, sending a look saying 'you're in so much trouble; you won't begin to imagine' before she spoke up to defend her decision on sending us.
"Unacceptable! How dare you question my decision like this! If you know what's good for you you'll do well to remember you're here as ADVISORS not joint hokages who make the decisions while I sit back like a helpless idiot!" tsunade raged as her temper rose higher with the glares she was receiving. "Look tsunade-chan, naruto and kasumi are no ordinary children. They're jinchuuriki, and must be treated as such!" Koharu raised her voice to defend Homura as she grew fed up with tsunade before she felt a heavy force threaten to drop down on them.
"Look… if no-one wants to end up unconscious only to wake up with what feels like a hangover from hell, you'll do well to listen to me dattebane. Understood?" I growled out sweetly as I let my ki flood the room, earning several nods from EVERYONE present. "Good. Now, if I know tsunade baa-chan she's looked this over more than once, weighing all the entire possible out comes with multiple scenarios only to end up with our team as a result of planning. Since she's hokage she has final say and judgment according to law. It's a dictatorship with the only one she answers to being the fire daimyo; let's not forget that before we lose our heads, shall we? Oh, and if I'm going along on this little trip –which I am- then why be concerned if the head of anbu herself is going dattebane? It isn't like I don't have a lieutenant to leave in charge who does a fine job while I'm away." I finished as my voice echoed around the now quiet space, the remnants of the speech still floating around the air of the room.
"We don't care if you are head of anbu; you and your brother WILL be put on restriction and limited missions in addition to not going on this one. The Akatsuki will- "The Akatsuki will have no trouble finding them if they stay in the village. Keeping them out and about will cause problems in finding them as well as decrease the likelihood of a village-wide assault that would more than likely occur in the search for the twins. Besides, they have a special ability and will act like a great sword and shield for konoha." Tsunade countered, the annoyance in her voice growing into fury as the 'discussion' pressed on.
"Tsunade, you're acting like a child…speak like a hokage." Homura hissed calmly and smugly growing annoyed. Big mistake 'ttebane. "YOU have to understand I'm being MORE than generous here too ya' know; allowing you to continue questioning me like this; it's bordering on treason!" she snapped violently, having had enough of the petty delaying the inevitable. "Well, princess can you guarantee that they won't be taken by the Akatsuki? If they were to get their hands on the kyuubi, the effects would be devastating and them becoming a much bigger threat to us." Homura pressed angrily, hoping to make tsunade baa-chan and I squirm.
"How dare you! Kyuu-nii would protect us no matter what dattebane! He would never try to leave or let us get captured! Shut up, sit down and have faith that kami will let this go according to what he wishes!" I yelled as I finally snap letting my seething anger show and sear the air as it went from frigid to burning hot in a matter of milliseconds, watching in angry fascination when they tried to act like chameleons would and blend in with the furniture to hide from me. "Now that I have your co-operation, I'll be sending neko to debrief with jiraiya and kakashi-sensei, seeing as this conversation is over. Sayonara Koharu, Homura, danzo-chan." I coldly finished before I made my leave, leaving a wide-eyed danzo and council behind as I instructed neko to make his way to the hospital.
'This should be fun dattebane.' I sighed, dispelling the clone on my way to help naruto find our new 'teammate'. Ah, there he is. "How about down there ttebane?" I called to naruto as we jumped from roof to roof (me having caught up to him), pointing to a tree. "Sure!" he called jumping down in front of the tree.
"Naruto is that you?" we heard coming from behind us as we landed. "Huh? Oh, hey kiba! How ya been? Where's akamaru ttebayo?" naruto asked, looking around for the small puppy. "He's right there." Kiba pointed behind him as a large dog with brown ears came bounding up to us. "Whoa! Is that seriously akamaru?" naruto asked in disbelief. Yeah he's grown quite a bit since you've been gone." Kiba boasted, and then turned his gaze towards me, scrunching up his nose. "Hey naruto, who's the chick? She smells like you, but the fox stench is stronger mixed with what smells like ice." Kiba asked, stepping up to me and smelling me.
"Uh, that's my identical twin sister ttebayo. Her name's- "Uzumaki Kasumi dattebane." I step back as I purr out my name and smile a little. "There are two of you? And you even have similar verbal tics!" kiba whined a little at the mention of being a twin. "What's wrong with that ttebane?" I asked a little hurt. "I just didn't expect the dobe to have a sister." I'm almost at the breaking point dattebane. "Dead last huh…" I trail off overly sweetly as naruto backs off a little because of the killer intent.
"So, -"kiba, honey? Have you ever heard of the red hot-blooded habanero ttebane?" I asked overly sweetly. "Yeah…..she was the yondaime's wife and also known as the Red Death of konoha and even in the academy; she had a temper that scared the piss outta death himself. Why?" he asked, now a little nervous. "Because, I have been officially called the second coming of the Red Hot-Blooded Habanero dattebane; only, I don't have as much control. And you called my brother a dead last." I growled out.
"What do you think the habanero would have done ttebane?" I asked, still smiling as kiba paled and started to sweat. 'Aneki just let it go ttebayo.' Naruto was asking as I had kiba by the jacket collar. 'No way is he gonna get way with that dattebane!' I shot back as he began to stutter. "Uh…I-uh…. - "H-hello mi-minna." A semi-quiet stuttering voice sounded, interrupting kiba's nervous breakdown. "Hm?" naruto vocalized as we turned to face hinata as she looked away, blushing like no tomorrow.
"He-hello na-naruto-kun; Welcome h-home!" she squeaked out as she played with her fingers. "Hey hinata, how are you ttebayo?" naruto jovially greeted the tomato-red hyuuga heiress. "Um, fi-fine…Who is this?" She shyly inquired. "Oh, she's my twin sister, kasumi." Naruto answered cheerfully, pushing me in front of her to say hello after prying kiba free. "Hnn." I answered as I lowered my voice a little; placing a hand on my hip and shifting my weight on my right leg, letting me take a confident and critical pose as I analyzed her. "N-nice to meet you." She smiled warmly as she held out her hand.
"Nice to meet you too hinata-chan." I greeted as I shook her hand and analyzed her chakra, sensing her nervousness and desperation. "So, what are you guys up to?" naruto asked them, thinking on who to take with us. "We're waiting on kurenai-sensei for our mission." Shino spoke up from behind the tree, walking around to greet us. "Hey shino, how are you ttebayo?" naruto asked happily as the bug master stepped out of the shade of the tree.
"Good. Glad to see you're back -and with company- my name is "shino aburame, it's nice to meet you in person. I've seen you in naruto's memories… tell me…you really sure you don't laugh after…that mission dattebane?" I teased, watching him pale and clear his throat. "As much as I would love to tell you, kurenai-sensei should be here soon to go on the mission. Perhaps another time kasumi-san." He replied smoothly, distracting the others from the discussion. "Oh…well that's too bad ttebayo…-sigh- come on kasumi, let's go look for someone else. See ya later, guys!" naruto called as we made our leave. Not too long after we had left team eight's company, naruto stopped dead in the middle of the street, smiling like the Cheshire cat. "Ne, ne, kasu-nee I bet shikamaru could help out with our mission, let's go!" naruto suggested, grabbing my wrist and running down the street.
Chunin exams administration office
"Sorry naruto, and err…kasumi… but like I said I'm in charge of the chunin exams this year; and I can't just ditch the job, tsunade-sama would have my head." Shikamaru sighed as naruto and I asked for the fifth time. "Great…and here we thought if anyone could help us it would be you shika…considering how close we are ttebane. I thought if could count on anyone it'd be you." I sighed sadly, trying to guilt trip him into it. "Umm…kasumi-chan, I just met you…and even if naruto asked, the answers' still no. tsunade-sama would kill me if I abandoned this project." The shadow-nin sighed for the fifth time. "Hey, shikamaru, your mom asked me to bring you this." A familiar voice sounded from a little ways away from us, holding up a bento wrapped in a blue and Nara symbol cloth. As we turned to the sound, we were greeted with chouji's presence. "Is that…it is! Hey chouji how you been?" naruto called over the akimichi. "Hey naruto, glad to see you're back….and how is this?" he asked in an ever friendly tone. "Hey big guy, my name is Uzumaki Kasumi. I'm naruto's twin sister dattebane." I greeted cheerfully as he stopped walking to stand a foot away from our little 'group'. "Nice to meet you kasumi-chan, im-"Chouji akimichi; nice to see you in person ttebane." I cut in cheerfully as he just raised an eyebrow at my knowledge. "I've seen naruto's memories, so I technically know you." I helped, his face this time showing slight interest. "Anyways, how've you been chouji? I see you're still the same fat-ass ttebayo." Naruto voiced cheerfully before chouji expanded his right hand and swung toward naruto as I drew my now-present bow and spun around to shoot at a shinobi sitting on a nearby roof top. Hearing and smelling what I knew to be an ink lion getting crushed by chouji, I cast out my senses towards the painter-nin and got a reading on his motives and chakra level.
On the roof
'Hmm…looks like danzo-sama was right; she wasn't given the title for head anbu for just any reason.' Sai thought to himself, barely dodging the arrow kasumi had released towards him feeling the arrow cut at his arm. 'Well, let's see what you've got kasumi-sama.' He flourished the brush across the scroll to reveal more lions, and then held the ram sign to bring his creations to life. "Ninja art: Super Beast Scroll."
On the ground
"Who the hell is that dattebayo?!" naruto demanded while dodging another ink lion before dispelling it with a kunai. 'Danzo-chan, you sly snake you….I'll bet anything on the fact that this is one of your 'suggestions' for our squad.' I mentally spat, drawing my bow back after increasing the weight, and let loose three arrows of my black chakra. "I don't really know…I haven't seen him around the village even though he wears a konoha hitai-ite…" shikamaru trailed off, no doubt trying to analyze the stranger. "He attacks and possibly defends, with whatever he draws using chakra-based ink after sending a surge of chakra through the scroll, bringing the beast to life…quite a rare ability, unique only to a certain supposedly-extinct clan called the Nami-Ame….if what research tells me is true ttebane." I rattled off as I fired another arrow that the ne-nin dodged, earning a surprised look from shikamaru. "Hey, traveling the world as a neutral party has its benefits…access to village archives about clan history for exorcism boundaries helps too of course…" I trailed off before feeling the ne agent leave the roof.
