Pokemon Extra Episode 2 – As Green Grass Grows!
*I do not own Pokemon
*Pokemon is owned by Nintendo
Well, THAT took forever for me to finally finish this and update. We finally come to the end of the story. Also, the battle move effects are based off of the games, so some might not fit in the anime description. It may also be more realistic than the show.
Chapter 8 – Same Under What's Shed
Pikachu
"Ha! Fine, have it your way! We'll have a Pokemon battle. Whoever wins gets to keep Snivy!" the girl shouted.
"Deal!"
"How about a full six-on-six battle, eh? Oh, and I get to use Snivy, too!"
Hey, that's not fair!... but I guess it'll have to be that way… I really hate having to fight a teammate for this kind of reason.
"A full battle? Why don't we shorten it to four? Maybe three?" my trainer suggested.
"Nope! A full six-on-six battle and that's all I'll have! You don't know how LONG it took for me to get a Unova starter Pokemon! So, no exceptions or I keep Snivy for good!" Ash grumbled in frustration.
"Ok, let's get this over with-"
"ASH!" shouted a familiar feminine voice.
"Iris?! How did you find us?"
"Well, Axew was watching you last night when you were all going out to find Snivy. We figured you guys would come back by tomorrow morning, but we got worried because you never showed up. Cilan and I left to look for you. When we arrive, you guys get in trouble and start a full Pokemon battle?! You could've at least asked for our help!"
"Sorry, I got really worried, so I only brought my Pokemon, and I guess I forgot about you guys…"
"Ash, you're such a kid," Iris groaned.
"If you two are having a Pokemon battle, I'll be the ref. What's your name?" Cilan asked the brown haired girl.
"Hmph! At least SOMEONE is nice enough to ask my name! I'm Lira, a Pokemon collector. I'm trying to catch all the starter Pokemon in the world!"
"Well, that's a nice goal. Actually, Ash has-"
"C'MON! Let's start the battle already!" Ash screamed.
"This will be a full six-on-six battle between Ash and Lira! The battle is over when all six Pokemon on either side are knocked out. The trainer with remaining Pokemon wins the battle!" Cilan raised his arms. "Battle begin!"
Lira went first. "Ok, Combusken! Time to fight!" A familiar yellow and orange bird stood proudly with his arms at his sides.
"Boldore, I choose you!" The giant rock Pokemon walked up slowly to the front.
"Ash, what are you doing? Isn't Combusken a fire and fighting type?" Iris yelled.
"Yeah, so?"
"Fighting is strong against rock types!"
"Oh, I've got a plan. Ok, Boldore, start out by using Sandstorm!" Immediately, Boldore caused the whole battlefield to fill with flying tiny pebbles. Combusken was having a hard time seeing.
"Combusken, use Ember!" Combusken strategically shot fire at the sand to clear most of it, but by the time he could see, Boldore shot Rock Blast at the bird, super effectively knocking him down. Combusken struggled to get up, and used Double Kick. Boldore countered it with Rock Smash, causing both to have damage. Both Pokemon were knocked to the ground.
"C'mon, get up, Boldore!" Ash called out.
"Get off the floor, Combusken!" Lira shouted. Iris shook her head in disbelief.
"So this is your plan, Ash? Doesn't seem to be working that well…" Iris said, putting her hands on her hips. Unfortunately, Combusken was the first on his feet.
"Great job, Buski! Use Quick Attack while Boldore is still on the ground!" Lira commanded.
Wait, but isn't Quick Attack not effective on rock type Pokemon? Combusken was closing in fast, but Ash called out to Boldore, who managed to finally get up.
"You won't get anywhere with that move. Use Rock Smash!" Ash shouted, clutching his fists. I noticed a smirk on Lira's face that gradually widened into a grin.
"Use Double Kick when you're close enough!" As we awaited the fate of the battle for Boldore, Rock Smash was, instead, driven into the ground, pushing up rugged rocks by the force into the ground. Combusken was unable to brake his speed and was painfully smashed in the face by a sharp rock. Combusken fell over, fainted.
"Combusken is unable to battle! Boldore is the winner!" Ash pumped his arm excitedly.
"Yeah! Great job, Boldore! Why don't you rest for now?"
"Oh, retreating, are we? Hmph, fine. Whatever. Go Simisage!"
"Fine, then. Pignite, you're up!" The two Pokemon glared at each other with such fury that you could almost roast an egg on their steaming bodies.
"I'm not gonna lose! Snivy is on our team, and we aren't letting her go no matter what!" Pignite shouted.
"Hm. Easy for you to say, Pignite. You should be careful, though; if you fight Snivy, you'll be in a lot of trouble. I doubt you'll want to hurt her," Simisage responded smugly.
"Shut up and fight!" Pignite started stomping his feet on the ground, creating a fiery barrier around himself. Simisage was creating a ball of glowing energy between his palms. Both Pokemon shot their attacks, but Pignite was able to push through the Energy Ball and head towards Simisage with great speed.
Simisage, completely open to move, dodged the fire rocket by sidestepping. He quickly moved forward, smacking the side of his right hand onto Pignite's back with Brick Break. Pignite was pushed down, falling to his face. He got back up and shot a hose of flame at my trainer's command. Simisage was engulfed by the tunnel of flame. Simisage had swirly eyes once the fire died down.
"Simisage is unable to battle. Pignite wins!" Cilan called, raising his right arm.
"Alright, then! Chimeco, it is your turn!" The bell Pokemon rushed out into the battlefield with grace. Pignite readied himself again.
"Pignite, use Flame Charge!" Pignite flew at the white Pokemon with his surrounding fire barrier. Chimeco easily dodged and used Take Down. Just as Chimeco was face to face with Pignite, she was blasted full force with Flamethrower. Chimeco landed harshly onto the hard dirt ground, but managed to use Heal Bell, allowing her to continue the fight. She dodged the second Flamethrower, giving her a couple seconds to charge at Pignite while he was still blasting his fire.
"Double-edge!" Lira screamed. Chimeco rammed into Pignite, causing him to faint.
"'K, return, Pignite. You did an awesome job! Get some good rest." Ash beamed the pig back into his ball. "Ready to go, Pikachu?" I nodded, making a face filled with confidence. I ran out onto the field.
"Chimeco, get up close!" I was confused at Chimecho's trainer's order, but I tried attacking with Iron Tail, listening to my trainer. Instead, a bubble popped in my face, shooting a wave of drowsiness over We both collided, damaging each other, but I was pushed onto the ground, too sleepy to get up. I eventually fell asleep.
I heard my trainer yelling at me to wake up. I struggled to move my muscles, but I managed to force myself up. Quickly, my trainer ordered me to use Thunderbolt. I hit right on the target, fainting the female Pokemon.
Three for us, one for them. I turned around to cheer with Ash. He seemed to be extremely happy right now, doing a tiny jig that I've never seen him do.
"Humph! Don't get so hyped up about this. I still got three more to go! Don't think I'll go down that easily!" Lira snorted, arms crossed and head held high. "I bet you don't even have your sixth badge, yet! Ha!" She continued by sticking out her tongue. Both Ash and I chuckled.
"Yeah?" My trainer started. "How many badges do you have?"
"Hey, I don't go around making myself sweat over traveling to every town! I told you I'm a Pokemon collector! You still seem amateurish to have not evolved such a tough looking Snivy. After I win, I'm gonna make sure it does evolve! Your measly five or less badges will ensure my victory!"
"Hmph, hardheaded much?"
"What did you say?" Lira clenched her fist and made an aggravated face.
"And you're making terrible assumptions. Let me guide you through. I currently have five Pokemon left, while you have three, meaning I'm winning. I never told you how many badges I have, but I'm not sure if you want to know."
"Well, that's too bad! I already know! For such a weakling like you, I feel like you should forfeit on the spot! I would have all my badges now if I wasn't a collector!"
Seriously?
"Then I guess you should forfeit. I have all eight badges, and I also have gotten all the badges in Kanto, in Johto, in Hoenn-"
"HEY! If you guys are just gonna keep arguing and not battle, I guess the ref here will just end the battle here and make Ash win! Otherwise, stop standing there!" Cilan shouted, arms crossed.
"YES! We MUST continue! Snivy is as good as mine!" Lira said smugly.
The battling went on for about half an hour more. Boldore ended up fainting against Lira's Herdier, Herdier fainted by Oshawott, Oshawott fainted by Sawsbuck, the Sawsbuck fainted by Unfezant. It seemed like the battle was already in our bag, but I stood on the flat ground, facing the Pokemon that we have all been chasing after the past week.
"Snivy, please don't do this."
Snivy
Currently, I am frustratingly conflicted. A part of me wanted to stay with this new group, but those Pokemon, who were once my teammates, cared about me all these months we've been traveling throughout Unova. Here they are, reaching out to take back the half-murderer just because of a stupid bond in relationships. Stupid, because it just can't decide what to do. I want to keep them safe by staying with Lira, but I'm also partially wanting to go back to the team who accepted me when I needed it most. I almost went back into memories of my previous trainer, but I kept my mind away from it.
Here's the big decision. Pikachu is unwilling to attack until I make the first move. He's a smart one; he certainly cares about me. Should I tell him to beat me in the battle or should I keep my lasting winning streak and stay with this collector team?
"I-…" I couldn't decide. Decisions haven't been something that I had trouble with, but this time it's too difficult.
"Can't you please come back with us? We need you more than you realize." I looked into his pleading eyes, but I quickly looked to the ground in front of me.
"But what I did to Emolga… It was completely unforgivable. I joined this group because my love for battling has made me too violent… I believe joining a non-battling team would help me overcome my problem. I really do care about you all… Gosh, I'm getting sappy." I chuckled sadly. "I just don't know."
"And that is what my whole lesson was about to you," said a very familiar elderly voice. I looked to my right, noticing Momma Scolipede hiding behind the trees. "You're actually my first student to storm of on me." I curled my eyebrows in anger.
"What do you mean, "lesson"?"
"I was trying to teach you, miss, that you should never think that striving to be completely different will solve your problems. You will realize that you are continuously stuck on a fork in the road, always going backwards to avoid choosing the wrong path. You should follow what both your heart and brain lead you through."
"My brain is already hurting enough about what you said. But you say to follow my heart. I can't follow either path because my heart is pleading for both."
"Very insightful, missy. But remember to think. Would you and your old teammates be happy if you stayed with Lira? Will you have only a small risk going with Pikachu and Unfezant, which can be dealt with easier overtime with close friends at your side? Now, think. What is the better path, now? Let your brain lead you along with your heart." I smiled with realization. I nodded to Momma as she turned to head back into the forest.
"Well, Pikachu, I've decided!" I laughed inside when I saw Pikachu sweating with nervousness. I nodded to Cilan to indicate that the last battle may begin. He raised his hands and announced the start of the battle. I smiled calmly.
Ash carried my Thunderbolt-fried body into a loving hug. I gratefully returned it, and faced toward Lira, who was outraged at losing me and kicking her camp stuff everywhere. The rest of the gang- no- my family headed on back into the forest, looking forward to a nice meal and relaxing nap at the Pokemon Center. Emolga was out with Nurse Joy, and I felt guilty as I saw Emolga shiver and clutch herself, completely wide-eyed. Oshawott patted my shoulder, and I smiled, comforted. I apologized honestly to Emolga, which stopped her clutching and shivering. She was still wide-eyed, but Pikachu went up to her and whispered something in her ear. I smiled as she cracked a grin.
"I forgive you, and I apologize, also." I blinked.
"What for?"
"My actions triggered this whole chain of you running away. Not only do I apologize for that, but also for my actions themselves." I grew an even bigger smile.
"I'll put all that way behind, now. I was wishing for another start, a new friendship with you." Emolga clutched herself again, but still kept the grin.
"Sure."
