"Hi!" The short girl squeals and jumps up and down before wrapping her arms around me, almost knocking me over.

"Hello!" I exclaim back and try not to show how confused I am.

"We met downstairs, I'm Lauren! My friend Meredith and I gave you directions! Wow, this is nice!" She says, walking into my room, I sigh and close the door behind me.

"Yeah, I haven't done much yet. I was just unpacking some clothes when you knocked," I explain, nodding my head slightly.

"Ooh!" She shouts and runs over to my closet, opening it up and flicking through the items that are hung up before picking a pastel blue skater dress I completely forgot I had. She threw it onto my bed and then bent down to look through my shoes and picking out a pair of white heels. "Try it on!" I obediently take the heels and dress from her and walk into my bathroom to change. After two minutes there's a rapping knock at the door. "Hurryhurryhurryhurryhurryhurryhurry!" The voice of the small girl comes from the other side and I roll my eyes after slipping the heels on and opening the door. I'm met by the gasp of an open-mouthed Lauren.

"What? You made me put it on!" I say, holding both hands up in a questioning stance.

"Y-you look so beautiful! Look!" She drags me over to my full-length mirror, placing a hand over my eyes. She let's go and takes a step back.

"Wow..." I say and gasp. I never realised how nice this dress looks.

"You have to wear that tomorrow!" Lauren chirps and sits down on my bed.

"Tomorrow?" I ask, turning around to face her.

"For your date with that Harries boy! Woo, he is pretty good looking!" She says and fans her face.

"Yeah, he is... I mean, uh, how did you know about tomorrow?" I ask, taking an apple out of the fruit basket on my desk before realising it's fake and put it back.

"Oh sweetie, little Lolo over here knows everything about everyone!" She giggles and shakes her shoulders a bit. "Also, I went by his room earlier and he would not stop talking about how you said yes to going out tomorrow. Oh my god, he was so nervous!" I blush and turn away from Lauren so she doesn't see my red cheeks.

Jack was going on about me saying yes? Why was he nervous? Does he like me? No, he can't, that's ridiculous, we just met!

"He was nervous?" I ask, looking down at my shoes.

"Yeah! I mean, who wouldn't be? You're fabfab!" She says, her use of the made up word makes me laugh. "So, how about that, um, Walker guy?" She asks, looking at her hands which are picking at a green anklet she's wearing.

"What about him?" I ask, shrugging.

"You know, like, have you talked to him or anything? I've known him for years but he's never taken much notice of me, definitely not as much as I notice him..." She says, I know she regrets telling me that because she turns around and looks out the window before I can catch her eye.

"You notice him a lot, do you?" I smirk and take the heels off before I fall over.

"No! I mean, I don't know! Ugh, we went to school together as well as Meredith and he just like, never noticed me. He was one of those popular guys, you know? All the girls, all the glory, the teacher's adored him. We used to play together as little kids but then he sort of ignored me when he got more attention from other girls, prettier girls. That's when I met Meredith and we've been besties ever since!" She perks up after she mentions Meredith and looks back at me. "Please let me do your hair and make-up for tomorrow!"

I nod my head and Lauren gets up and screams before hugging me and running out of my room.
