((Chapter 2: Breakfast))

Pain. That was Randall could think of or feel when he woke up. His stomach was completely empty, his body was wracked with pain from open and infected wounds and he could feel a fever setting in. He groaned as he turned to look at the alarm clock placed beside his bed. 4am. He groaned again. Why did he have to wake up so early? Especially when he was in pain. The lizard looked up towards Luna's bed but she couldn't see her, she was gone!

Now that he was awake, he noticed the way her room was. The walls were white with black and red paint spatters everywhere, and were covered in posters from Black Veil Brides, Fearless Vampire Killers, Meatloaf, Kiss, and many many other rock bands. Her clothes were strewn on the floor and mainly consisted of batman or band shirts and skinny jeans, and numerous other forms of band merch. She was not like most girls in the monster world. Every girl he ever met were total neat freaks. This girl appeared to love mess… and lots of it. Her bed quilt was black and covered in some kind of animal hair.

Before Randall could take note of anything else, the smell of food wafted into the air, the scent sharply becoming a hard kick to his stomach. He let out a loud groan in pain, and the sound obviously caught someone's attention. Luna appeared in the doorway. She seemed pailer than she was before, her eyes were rimmed in black and her hair was a mess, like she'd been dragged backwards through a hedge. "I heard you groaning…"

"Yea, well, I'm fine." Randall swiftly snapped back at her. He was aware his attitude had pissed her off before, but now she seemed too tired to really care.

"You wont want anything to eat then." Luna mumbled half-heartedly, turning to walk back out the door.

"Wait…" Randall sighed in frustration. "Maby I do need to eat…" he managed to sit up, his left hands playing with his right finger tips as he stared at the floor.

"Next time, just ask for some food, you idiot." Luna rolled her eyes and motioned for Randall to come with her. "I'm just making banoffie pancakes."

"…Bana-what?" Randall tilted his head, groaning in pain yet again as he tried to pull himself up.

"Need some help?"

"No!"

Luna groaned herself in annoyance, walking over swiftly and helping Randall to his feet, guiding him through the house into the kitchen. Randall noticed quite quickly that the house was not an average size, and seemed rather lavish for two seemingly common girls such as Mary and Luna. But aside from that, the more obvious site, was that there were reptile and fish tanks in almost every room and every hallway.

"So, you seem to like reptiles…."

"No shit Sherlock…" Luna smiled sleepily, pushing a pile of pancakes towards the purple lizard. "It was actually kinda thanks to you…" Randal threw a questioning look to Luna, who dropped her smile and sighed. "I used to be scared of reptiles, but after you scared me, my brother bought me a snake to help me get over my fear. It worked. I've been amazed by them ever since. All the money I earn goes to keeping my reptiles, though most of them are just from the local zoo."

"You own a zoo?" Randall sat at the table as she pulled out a chair for him.

"Not. Though it might look like I do. I just volunteer to take care of their reptilian animals when they get sick. Some of them need round the clock attention that the park keepers themselves cant give." Luna explained, placing the pancake infront of Randall. The pancakes were piled high, large and very fluffy appearing. The top of the pancake stack was covered in thick sliced banana, a good lashing of caramel and melted chocolate pooled in the middle, dripping like a waterfall down the sides of the stack. "Sorry if I made too much for you, just eat what you can. I'll see to your wounds once you've eaten."

"Sure..." Before Randall could blink, he had eaten the entire stack of pancakes, the memory of eating them had blended into a second of pure bliss of sweet fluffy chocolate perfection. His stomach felt like he'd been punched again, and Randall made a beeline for the kitchen sink, vomiting more than half of the contents of his stomach. "I think… I over ate…" Randall held his stomach and his throat, burning from the bile.

"It's ok, its ok. I shouldn't have given you so much to eat… small meals and often is the way to go with you, I think. Don't worry about it Randall." Luna rubbed his back gently, trying to comfort the very sick reptile monster.

Randall growled and pushed her away "Get away from me! I told you, I don't need anyone!" Randall raised onto his lower, lower legs standing 3 foot above the girl. Luna stumbled back in fear at first, before stepping forward, looking Randall in the eye.

"Could have fooled me lizard boy!" She glared up at him. "You are sick and hurt and your acting like a child! Now lie down and shut up!" Luna shouted at Randall, pushing him onto the sofa in the living room and grabbing her reptiles medical kit.
