You And Me Means Perfect

CHAPTER 3

-REPLAY-

There was a missing piece in the story and now that the girl was gone, it was never to be completed. The case was never truly closed.

The brown haired girl was about to return the frame back when another photo slipped out of the old frame.

This time was a picture of the girl smiling happily while she looked at the sight in front of her, not realizing that a photo was taken silently.

Momo felt her heart crushed again at the grief Toshiro must have felt. If she was feeling this sad about this old friend of her...

She couldn't imagine how Toshiro must have felt.

-END-

A horrifying screech sounded in the air. A group of hollow had , yet again, been defeated. The captain of the Tenth Division put away his sword and rummaged for his phone in his haori. He opened it and saw no red dots around.

'For now at least...' Hitsugaya locked his phone and put it back.

It was the end of the week and he did not find many hollows around Karakura Town. A part of him felt relieved while the other kept making him feel alarmed at all cost. Especially when it comes to the girl.

"Ne, Taichou." he turned to his lieutenant, "I've just received a message from Soul Society. It says that we will be going back next week if there is nothing happening particularly."

"Ah. I see. Is that all?" he nodded

"Well, it's about your girlfriend, Taichou!" Rangiku said innocently.

One.

"You mean, the girl?" he suppressed his anger from coming out.

"Yep! They said that we should just give her some time until one of us do another Soul Burial on her. They said that some soul are like that." Matsumoto told him with a smile.

"I see. Thanks. I'm going for a walk, Matsumoto." the captain turned to his gigai, "I'll see you before dinner."

"Oh! Another date with the girl, Taichou?! I never knew you would be going that fast!" Rangiku said, surprised.

Two.

"Let me rephrase that. I'm going for a walk alone, okay?" he answered, emphasizing the word "alone".

"As if!" she scoffed, "Fill me up with the detail when you get home, alright Taichou?"

Three. That's it.

"MATSUMOTO!"

... And there she was nowhere to be seen.

The snow-haired boy gasped for air after his shout before muttering curses after curses among how he would punish that lieutenant of his when they got home to Soul Society. Eversince he told her and the team about this particular girl, Rangiku had kept on bugging him about having something with the girl. It had greatly annoyed him.

"Ah! It's you again!" a girl's voice ringing a few meters from where he was standing.

She was still wearing the same gown from the first time he met her. Her hair was bouncing slightly as she jumped. The girl floated towards him in glee.

Hitsugaya stopped his steps so she could catch up with him.

"I never thought I would see you here beside the railing near the park." she smiled.

"Neither am I." he started to walk beside her.

'Nope. I already know that you will be here every 4 p.m. .' he said in his head.

"Well, can I join your walk? I'm getting lonelier and I have some tale to tell! Wanna hear it?" her eyes no longer held nervousness as she waited for his answer.

Hitsugaya shrugged, "Sure."

She cheered before telling her tale, "It's different this time! I think you will like this one!"

That was how they talked to each other. The girl would have stories to tell him and he would listen until the end. Hitsugaya admitted that her stories were quite interesting. He would give her his opinion about it before she started her second story. Always two stories at a time. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable time.

"And they went home together with their mother. The end!" she finished her first story.

Hitsugaya nodded, "That's a great story. Found it in a book?"

"What? How did you know?" asked the girl, surprised.

"I've read that book somewhere before. I forget when also." the captain shrugged.

"Hahahaha! You're still young yet you're already forgetful! No wonder your hair is white!" she laughed.

Hitsugaya took a breath, not wanting to snap at the girl he was supposed to be pleasing so that she would go across sooner.

"... Although," she continued, "I like it. It suits you perfectly."

'I like it. It suits you perfectly...'

Toshiro's eyes twitches.

"Hmm? Is something wrong, Shinigami-san?" the girl cocked her head to the side.

"Ie. It's nothing. There's something in my eyes just now. It's gone now." he turned his head to the sunset.

This was the first time they watched the sunset though suddenly...

"Ah! I gotta go, Shinigami-san! See you tomorrow morning!" the girl ran towards a narrow street without another glance.

The boy snapped his phone open to see that it was 4.58 p.m. . The park's bell was about to ring. She disappeared around this time as well when he first stalked her.

Ding... Dong... Ding... Dong...

'...but, I like it. It suits you perfectly...'

The white haired captain let out a sigh, unable to stop the memory from playing inside his head. He closed his eyes, trying to remember how everything was.

O.o.O.o.O.o.O

"Ne, Hitsugaya-senpai." the girl in front of him called.

"Hmm?" he answered, not looking at her.

He was too absorbed into the story he was reading and it was getting to the exciting part. He wouldn't want to miss this action. It was a mystery book he found in the library. He thought that maybe he would take some light reading while waiting for this kouhai in front of him doing her homework.

'... The man opened the sliding door, trying not to make a sound. He tiptoed towards the cabinet a few feet from him. Knowing that the children must be inside of the wooden box, he smiled lightly. A muffled shuffling sounded in the room, supporting his deduction that the children were inside of it. His hand touched the box lightly when-'

"Senpai! Are you listening to me?!" a harsh whisper sounded in his ears.

"Yeah, yeah, I heard you. The answer is "A. The 2nd Division." ." Toshiro answered, wanting to continue his reading.

"Oh! Okay, thank you! I thought you didn't hear me." she put her attention back to the scroll in front of her, "I'm glad I didn't look like I was talking to an old man with hearing problems."

Hitsugaya put his book down immediately, clearly irritated by what she said about him looked like an old man.

"My hair is silver, not white. Even a child can distinguish silver and white." he replied.

She raised an eyebrow, "They look the same to me."

"Then no wonder you're childish," Toshiro grabbed his book again.

"Hey! I am not!" she pouted.

"See? Pouting is what children do when they are upset." he tried to hide a smile.

She was the perfect target for all his teasing. He liked bullying her because she always made an unexpected reaction.

"Hey! At least pouting is cuter than scowling like that!" she pointed at him, "See? Scowling is what old men do when they are upset and your scowl is getting wider than possible."

"I'm a male so deal with it that I scowl." Hitsugaya buried his head to the book once again.

" 'I'm a male so deal with it that I scowl.' Jeez, men..." she muttered under her breath.

They went to their own busy mind before it was time to go home.

"Ja, Senpai! See you tomorrow!" She waved good bye at him while turning around.

Hitsugaya turned around and took a few step before he heard his name being called by the girl.

"Eto... For earlier... Gomen... I didn't mean to call you an old man just because of your white- I mean, silver hair. It's unusual, yes, but, I like it. It suits you perfectly..." she told her.

Toshiro turned around, wanting to see her face. He's a bit too late though, since he saw the back of her head now. A smile graced his face, however, when he saw a hint of red on her ears.

O.o.O.o.O.o.O

Toshiro opened his eyes to see the sky had turned dark. He didn't expect that reminiscing that simple memory would caused him this much time. Although, when he thought about it again, it felt so real. Her troubled face when she did her homework, her neat handwriting, her pouting lips, and her voice. Toshiro shivered slightly at the realness of the memory.

How he wished he believed her when she said that-

RING! RING! RING!

Toshiro put his phone near his ear, "Yes?"

"Taichou! Where are you? The chocolate soup is getting colder, you know! It's going to be a waste if you don't eat it now! Hurry and go home, okay? See you soon!" Matsumoto nagged in the phone before ending the phone call.

'Jeez, women...' he walked away from the railing.

Once again, the young taichou went to the supermarket for a quick detour before going to Orihime's apartment.

'Oh. of course. That's the story from the memory,' Toshiro thought as he entered the door he was staying.
