When the released the embrace Applejack said, "I gotta go back to Apple-bucking."
"Alright," responded Dylan, "I'll be in the barn," he then walked into the barn and sat on a haystack thinking about what happened to his life.
After a few hours the sun was almost setting. Applejack walked into the barn saying, "Howdy Sugarcube."
Dylan was took focused on thinking to hear her, "Sugarcube?" Applejack repeated.
This time Dylan looked at her and said, "What? Oh, hey."
She walked up to him and said, "What are you doing?"
"Nothing, just thinking. Speaking of which, remember at the barn awhile ago?"
"Which time?"
"When Rainbow used your brother."
"Well, yeah. Why?"
"You told me that you liked me, that you cared about me. I don't know for how long, so what I was wondering," Dylan looked down, "did you do what you did just because of your brother, or because you liked me then?"
Applejack moved his head up so their eyes locked. "Because I liked you then," Applejack leaned her head in and her lips met his. She kissed him more passionate then ever before.
He kissed back just as well. He wrapped her in a hugged and she returned it. "Applejack," said Dylan.
"Yeah?" asked Applejack as they both took a moment from their session.
"I, I love you," Dylan said blushing.
"I love you too," Applejack blushed also then continued their session. Both of them closing their eyes for the time being.
After 10-20 minutes, they stopped. They opened their eyes to see each other smiling.
They heard a throat being cleared with a voice saying, "Applejack."
They both looked to the barn door and saw Big Macintosh. "Yeah Big Mac?" asked Applejack.
"Granny Smith needs you."
"Okay Big Mac, I'll be with her in a second." Big Mac then left the barn.
Applejack looked at Dylan and said, "I gotta go see what she wants."
"Alright, I'm gonna go to Sugarcube Corner, get a cupcake or something."
"Okay, I'll be with you when I'm done."
"Alright," Dylan said before they both left to their said places.
As Soarin' sat down at a table with the mare of his dreams, as she took a bite of her cupcake he said, "You know, I've liked you since our first conversation."
"I do know," the mare responded giggling, "you've told me before."
As the mare saw the dirty-blonde haired stallion, Dylan, her face badly blushed. She watched the stallion sit down alone at the table right next to her and Soarin'.
Her name was called a few times before she finally realized she was being called, "Huh, what Soarin'?"
"What are you staring at?" asked Soarin' as he looked back behind him.
"Nopony, I just, thought I saw somepony familiar..."
Soarin' saw Dylan, he didn't recognized him, Soarin' looked back at his girlfriend, "You have to get over him, he wasn't treating you right anyway."
"He wasn't treating me right?!" said the mare right back at him, "He was treating me perfectly till I messed everything up! We never argued, he didn't yell at me, he was nice enough to get me tickets to see the Wonderbolts! If it weren't for you I'd be engaged!" tears started falling out of her eyes, "my life was wonderful for the past year before you came along. I don't even love you as much as you think I do! Dylan still lives in my heart and I still love him!"
Dylan heard his name and looked up, hearing the entire monologue. He saw a tearful Rainbow Dash, she got up and flew out the Sugarcube Corner doors. "Rainbow!" yelled Soarin' as he got up from his seat. "You know what, I don't even care." Soarin' left the building and went to his house in Cloudsdale.
Dylan got up from his seat and left Sugarcube Corner, and started walking in the direction of the Everfree Forest.
Once he arrived, he went passed the crust of the forest and through a few bushes to a big empty field. "Hey," he said as he walked towards the crying mare.
She looked at him for a moment, "What, here to wonder why I haven't killed myself?"
"No, that's not it." he sat down next to her, putting his foreleg over her shoulders. "I know how you feel."
She brushed the foreleg off her, "No you don't, you don't know how it feels to-"
"Get your heart broken over something stupid you did?"
"You were at the table over, you heard everything."
"It doesn't matter, I still know how it feels. Loving somebody for a long time, then just get your heart ripped out and stomped on in front of your own eyes. The feeling dwells inside you until you don't think you can go on anymore, when you know this is the end. The only way to get rid of the pain, is to get rid of everything."
She looked at the stallion, "How do you know that?"
"I've been in a relationship for awhile then got dumped, but I could tell you've been stronger than I have."
"What do you mean?"
The stallion lifted his head up, the show a long cut mark along his neck. "I did this a few years ago when I was broken up with."
"But how is that even there? Twilight got rid of it all."
"Only the ones that I got while I was here, not everything." he pulled up his jacket sleeves, showing many cuts, many long, very short. "Every time I thought about her, it made my heart melt, break, whatever you want to say. It hurt me so much, that I had to stop the pain with more pain," he put his sleeves down, "I want you to promise me that no matter what, you wont go this far. I was surprised I even stopped, my cutting became an addiction to me. So please, promise me you wont kill yourself over something small like this."
She nodded, "Alright, I promise," she wiped away a tear.
"Thank you," he quickly, but gently, kissed her on the cheek and got up, walking away.
"Wait," she said. Dylan stopped and looked at her, "how did you know where I was?" she asked.
"You always come here to get away from the world."
Right before Dylan was about to leave she said, "Thank you, for talking to me about this."
Dylan walked out of the bushes as Rainbow flew up to her house. When he got to the other side of the bushes he saw Applejack, "Applejack, what are you doing here?"
"I saw you walk after Rainbow, it was nice of you doing that," she smiled.
He smiled back and kissed her, "Let's go home."
She agreed as they walked home together.
When they arrived Dylan said, "I guess I'll just sleep in the barn again."
"You don't need to Sugarcube, you can sleep with me in my bed if ya want."
"You sure?" asked Dylan.
"Mhmm."
Dylan shrugged and said, "Alright."
He followed Applejack to her room and joined her in her bed. They went to bed cuddling.
