Red's PoV

Everyone is so nice! The atmosphere is bursting with energy as everyone exchanged stories. It was almost impossible for me to stop smiling. Even when the stories started to turn sour, someone would crack a joke and lighten the mood. Maybe it was all just to distract ourselves from our predicament, but I didn't care. Heck, even Blue was hitting me less than usual! Any kind of happiness was fine with me. Although I do wish mister sourpuss over there would join in the fun. Just because he used to be our enemy doesn't mean we can't be friends with him. After all, Shadow is a Link too.

"No way! You turned into a wolf?!", exclaimed Green.

Twilight chuckled, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. "Yes, I did. For a long time, it only happened when I entered the Twilight, but I eventually got a Shadow Crystal that enabled me to switch between forms whenever I liked."

"Wow!" I awed. These guys were all so cool. It's amazing to think that this guy is my descendant. It makes me feel so special! "Do you still have it?"

At this point, Minda speaks up, "Actually, I'm keeping a hold of it. If he had it, he'd be a wolf right now." It's a little creepy seeing Minda. She's basically just a shadow and I can see right through her. When Blue asked about it, Minda indignantly informed him that she can only show her true form in the Twilight, and that her true form is very beautiful. Well, she hit him first them told him that. Apparently, even as a shadow, she can pack one heck of a punch. Blue left her alone after that, mumbling something about how he won't believe it until he sees it.

Twilight nods. "The stone was trapped inside me first by Zant, keeping me in wolf form, until I found the Master Sword and expelled it."

"Keeping it was my idea," Minda commented.

Just about everyone perked up at the mention of the Legendary Sword. The Master Sword. The blade of evil's bane. Whatever you called it, it was the same thing. All of us have heard of it, but only a few have actually pursued it in their adventures. From what I've heard so far, only Time, Wind, and Twilight have obtained the sacred sword. I guess that's why no one was particularly interested with the Four Sword, or Minish's Picori Sword for that matter. Nothing could compete with the the all-powerful Master Sword.

Just as I was about to ask the question on everyone's mind, a loud beeping echoed through the tiny room. I gasped and covered my ears, whimpering slightly. The Minish and Wind were doing the same, but the others had risen to their feet, swords drawn. A few seconds went by with only the blaring sound jarring our thoughts before something finally happened.

Prepare to enter the Labyrinth, a voice said.

Then the floor fell away beneath me and darkness filled my vision.

"Hey, are you ok? Please wake up!"

That voice...I know that voice. It's a fairy. What was her name again?

"Oh, what am I going to do? Red, Wind, wake up!"

Wind? Oh, yeah. That's right. That must be his fairy. I think her name was Ciela.

"huh? Oh, Red! At least you're waking up!"

I blink open my eyes, the small fairy fluttering in circles above me. With a slight wince, I sit up. My back was sore, but I was otherwise fine. I looked to Ciela as she fly over Wind, trying again to wake him up. Sitting up, I try to help by shaking his shoulder.

"Wind! Ms. Ciela wants you to wake up!"

Finally, Wind opened his eyes. As he sat up, Ciela flew excitedly around him. "You're awake! I'm so glad. I was worried, Wind," she exclaims.

Wind smiles at her, then glances around. "Where are the others?"

For once, I take a look at my surroundings. Somehow, we've been transported to a rectangular room made of stone. The walls were covered with moss and vines and the floor had weeds poking stubbornly between the tiles. There was no ceiling. Just a lifeless, black sky.

I shivered nervously.

"Everyone fell down this hole that appeared in the floor and we ended up here. I suspect everyone else landed in different rooms," said Ciela. I glanced at her, admiring her smartness. She was like a friendlier version of Vio.

"Hello, my wonderful little Links!"

I blinked as I heard the perky voice echo around me. I looked around until I saw a glowing box hovering in front of a large wooden door. The glow faded enough to reveal the girl named Rose within it. Wind rises to his feet, glaring at the girl.

"Welcome to my very own Labyrinth! I designed it myself!", The strange girl giggled to herself, then leaned back and threw up her arms dramatically. "I decided this was the best way to kick off the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!"

I winced as she screamed the last part. Not that I didn't like perky, but I didn't see what she was so happy about.

"Labyrinth? What makes you think we're going to run around in you're little maze?" Wind sure looked mad. Not Blue mad, but mad.

"Don't think I forgot about your motive! As you may have well noticed, not a single princess can be seen near you. Why? Because they're all at the end of this maze, of course! If you want to rescue them, you'll have to get through the labyrinth!" Then she disappeared along with the white box.

I blinked. She just put the princess in danger and she's happy about it? I looked to Wind. "Why would she do that? The princesses must be so scared!" Tears started to well-up in my eyes. What was I talking about? I'm scared!

Wind smiled reassuringly, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry, Red. We'll rescue them. I bet all the others are all doing the same." I nodded, imagining Blue angrily thrusting his sword in the air as he ranted at the crazy girl who had orchestrated this. This made me smile a bit. It was funny when Blue got all worked up. Then I remembered that I was separated from him and the others and I started to cry again. "H-hey!" Wind exclaimed, surprised by my sudden tears, "I-it's ok! You're not alone here. Me and Ciela have got you're back, remember?"

I looked up at him and nodded, rubbing the tears from my eyes. Wind sighed, stepping back to look at the door. I could tell he was already beginning to wish I wasn't here. Blue and Vio both thought I was useless most of the time, and I probably was. I tried to compose myself. I wasn't going to be useless now. I'm going to help Wind and the others save the princesses!

Wind walked up to the door and put his hand on the wood. Then he knocked. Nothing happened. He tried pushing against it. Still nothing. Groaning in effort, he tried pulling, lifting, and hitting it with his sword, but it wouldn't budge. He stood there huffing in exhaustion while Ciela flew about the door.

"Hmm. It's pretty dry. Maybe we could burn it?" she suggested.

Wind looked around for a torch or something, but there was nothing else in the room besides us. Then I remembered my fire rod and pulled it out. I could be useful! I ran up to the door, holding up my rod. "We can use this!"

Wind looked at me curiously. "A rod? I already tried hitting it."

I shook my head and pointed the end of the rod at the door. A fireball sprung forth from the sphere at the end, slamming into the wood. The door quickly caught and before long, the entire door was engulfed in flames. I backed up with a surprised Wind as the door crumbled away to ash. As the final piece came tumbling down onto the hard stone floor, I grinned at Wind, holding my fire rod proudly.

"Woah."

I chuckled since that was all he could say. "What are we waiting for? Let's go save the princesses!" I smiled as I ran through the opening, holding up my fire rod . Wind shook his head and laughed, running after me.

"You're going to have to let me try that sometime, you know!" He called.

"No way!," I returned jokingly, "You'd probably catch yourself on fire!"

"He's got a point," Chimed Ciela.

"Hey!" Wind cried, pouting at his fairy. I laughed, so did Ciela. Wind couldn't help but join in.

"Let's rescue the Princesses with our spirits high, Wind!" He nodded and we set forth into the maze, with me in the lead.

Maybe this won't be so bad after all.
