I know! This chapter is so long overdue, and I'm sorry 'bout that :/

But this is it! The climax to the story - yes, all things have to end. I had alot of fun writing, hope you had enjoyed reading ;) So here's the last chapter to And Her Name Was Ahsoka

Barriss. She had been a friend. A traitor. An enemy. A sister. They were just alike, yet different in so many ways. So many ways, so many choices. Each choice bringing either a new joy or a new pain. Heartbreak and friendship. Suffering and gladness. Barriss was everything to her, Ahsoka realized, everything from an enemy to a loved one. And now, she would lose that everything forever.

What had she just done…

It was a moment stilled in time, with only the sound of the explosions and Barriss's pained sobs filling the air. All three of them – Ahsoka, Anakin, the Commander – stood still, not moving, not talking. The shock of everything cast a paralyzing shadow over them all, and Ahsoka bit her lip as the feeling of loss and Barriss's fading Force-signature caught her by surprise.

The hidden Sith known as Commander Hex Martial was the first to broke the stillness. "Jedi…" His voice was low, un-natural, more of a growl than a human tone. "You…have just taken away…the last thing…I have…" He looked up, eyes giving off a sickly orange glow, mixed with colors of yellow, red, and black.

Immediately, Ahsoka felt Anakin tense next to her, and his lightsaber was swept into a battle pose. "Surrender before this gets any worse," the Knight said, trying to sound confident but only telling Ahsoka he was just as shocked and stunned as she was.

The Commander didn't listen to him. Instead, the man dropped to his knees next to his daughter, clutching his lightsaber tightly. "I'll make sure they pay," he whispered to Barriss, taking her hand in his free one. "I'll avenge you, Barriss. I swear."

"F-Father…" Barriss whimpered, gritting her teeth against the pain. "F-Fa-ather, d-don't…"

His eyes narrowed into mere slits. "They won't get away with this!" he roared, stumbling to his feet. He shook his head and let out a bitter laugh, swinging his lightsaber. "I won't let you get away with this Jedi." He sounded psychotic, almost completely insane. "I won't let you have the blood of my children on your hands without having you pay for it! I won't!"

Ahsoka gripped her lightsaber tighter as she heard Anakin whisper, "Ahsoka, he's going to attack."

"You think?"

"You're dead!" Commander spat, beginning to pace the stone ground. Anakin moved as well, keeping Ahsoka behind him in a protective stance.

Ahsoka tried slipping into the Force to see if Lux and Obi-Wan were any closer, but was devastated to feel they were still several minutes away. They'll never get here in time to help us defeat him, she thought grimly, taking several shaky breaths. "Anakin, we can't beat him."

"You don't know that," was the sharp reply.

The Sith let out another growl, and then crouched down, like a predator ready to spring.

Oh Force, what are we going to do? What's happened? Oh, Force… Ahsoka couldn't help but feel like the entire galaxy was falling apart at that moment. A sickening feeling filled her gut, and she swallowed bile.

It was a flash, a blink, a second. In that split-moment caught in time, the Sith charged, Anakin clashed blades with him. Ahsoka felt the Force wrap around her and hurl her backwards, sending her sprawling into a pillar. Lightning flashed, thunder rumbled, rain poured. It was pure havoc.

"Ahsoka!"

She heard Anakin calling to her but when she got to her feet, she found herself not running to her former Master, but to Barriss, who was hanging onto life by a thread. She knelt down near the dying girl, and all of a sudden just began sobbing uncontrollably.

Barriss watched her, eyes wide. "A-Ahsoka?"

Ahsoka gazed at her through the tears, failing at controlling her emotions. "B-Barriss, I…"

She hadn't talked to Barriss Offee since the trial that day two years ago. Now, all of a sudden, all the anger, the hurt, the pain rushed back to her. But above it all was the main thing she had always wanted to say.

"…Barriss, I forgive you."

Releasing Barriss Offee from her wrongs. Freeing her. It was really the only thing she wanted to tell the dying criminal.

Barriss let out a choked sob, breathing labored; but through it all, she managed a weak smile. "T-T-Thank y-you…A-Ahsoka, I-I'm s-s-s-so s-sorry…"

Ahsoka lowered her forehead down onto Barriss's so that their eyes were locked. "I know," she whispered.

At that moment, as Barriss let out her last breath, Ahsoka felt a weight she had been carrying around for two and a half years disappear into the Force. She had been on the run from her past, living a fake life with a fake name, for so long…

I am Ahsoka Tano.

"I am Ahsoka Tano," she murmured, holding Barriss's still body. She gazed at the dead girl she had once called both friend and enemy, and bit her lip, choking back tears. She remembered the words being spoken by the Council "this was your great Trial of the Spirit. You are a Jedi Knight" and exhaled shakily. "You made me who I am," she continued quietly. "You taught me what it means to persevere, to forgive, to survive. I release you to the Force, Barriss."

I am Ahsoka Tano.

"Ahsoka!"

At that moment, Ahsoka was snapped out of her trance, and she looked up just in time to see Anakin get shot with Force-lightning, and flung into the ruins of the headquarters, shattering a stone wall.

"No!"

Ahsoka sub-consciously stumbled to her feet, activating her shoto, sprinting towards the battle, heart pounding with desperation. She had lost Barriss. The Jedi. She couldn't lose Anakin to that traitor – monster.

She hurled herself at the Sith, bringing her weapon down on his so hard sparks flew into her face. She went into an almost mechanical fighting style, slashing at her opponent, tears still running down her face.

Hex Martial hacked at her with his lightsaber, less grace but more power. She dodged most of his blows instead of countering them while also frantically trying to locate Anakin's Force-signature to make sure he was already. She could feel him, unsteady but alive.

She turned her entire focus and mind onto bringing Hex Martial, the traitor, to his knees.

"Agh!" She swung at his head, his legs, his torso. She could see his sneer in his mind, the mocking voice that had taunted her, the hands that had tortured her. She and him locked blades once again.

"We trusted you!" she spat out, breathing heavy and awkward. "Lux treated you like his father! I trusted you like an uncle, you traitor!" She was practically screaming.

"You destroyed everything I loved!" was the enraged retort. "You took my daughter! You took my son! You and your Jedi Order will pay for it as long as I live!"

"Then surrender already!"

Never before as a Jedi or an agent had she lost such control of her feelings, her anger, her pain. She had always locked it away, a torrent quelling in the darkest parts of her mind. A bitter fire that was stowed away in the furnace of her heart. And suddenly it came pouring out, just like the storm around them. An unquenchable blaze.

She slashed his shoulder, causing him to stumble backwards. As she recoiled for the next blow, she noticed orange blots of paint on her clothing, and realized her face markings were visible. Her lekku was lose, and with her shoto in hand, she felt like she had two years ago.

I am Ahsoka Tano.

The Sith lord lunged at her, using the Force to magnify his speed, twisting around and stabbing at her thigh. It just barely grazed her; but it was close enough to leave a long burn mark. "Augh!" Stumbling backwards, Ahsoka shoved her right lekku out of her face so she could catch her balance and steady herself. Quickly, she used the Force and flipped backwards, landing on her feet, crouched down, prepared to spring.

The Sith charged at her, lightsaber drawn back. The dark side was practically vibrating off him, sending pulses of the shadowy energy towards her. She deflected it with her own use of the Force, and then launched at him, meeting him in mid-air. Their lightsabers clashed, and the force of the blows sent both of them sprawling.

I can't let him win. I WON'T let him win. Ahsoka jumped back to her feet, and the blades connected again, and again. She honed back into all the training, all the skills she had once used as a Jedi. She used every trick she could remember, kicking, spinning, using the Force, different tactics. Anything to catch the traitor off guard, anything to bring him closer to defeat.

To her dismay, she felt hot, burning tears roll down her cheeks, mingling with the cool raindrops. She couldn't brush them away without losing the upper hand, so they continued falling, along with the smothered cries that tried rising in her throat. I trusted him. I trusted him. He betrayed me.

"Lux and I told you everything!" she finally cried out as they locked blades. "We trusted you with our lives, and you're a Sith! A monster!"

"I am a disciple to the dark side," he hissed. "The downfall of you and your Chosen One will be my ascension into the Sith. It was your own naivety and weakness that allowed you and your beloved fiancé to be duped. The fall of my children and the fall of the Jedi is your fault! The extermination of Coruscant is your fault!"

"You're lying!

"It's all on you." He ran at her, a crazed-eyed beast, a psychotic smile on his face. As his blade met hers, he lunged and caught her in the throat with his right hand, tightening his grip, bringing her face right before his own.

"No wonder the Jedi and your precious Master deserted you. Abandoned you."

No wonder they abandoned you… "No!" Angry, hurt, suffering, Ahsoka lashed out with the rest of her strength, kicking her opponent in the stomach, twisting around, bearing down with her teeth on his wrist. No wonder they deserted you… His grip on her loosened, and she dropped to the ground, coughing but not weakening. No wonder both the Jedi and your precious Master… She was immediately back on her feet, and she ran at him again, giving him a flying kick in the face.

…abandoned you.

The Sith fell to the ground on his back…hard. As he lay there, struggling to regain his composure, Ahsoka grasped his lightsaber with the Force, bringing it into her own hands. She pointed both blades at his throat, prepared to thrust forward.

And suddenly, she had brought the Sith to his knees.

The storm was still raging above, but it seemed to have stopped where Ahsoka remained standing above Hex Martial, lightsabers pointed at his throat, the urge to kill him, destroy him, overwhelming.

She locked eyes with him, her own crystal blue ones with his golden. He was a traitor. A monster. A murderer. She had betrayed them all, brought his own children to ruin. He was responsible for the Holocaust, Anakin's kidnapping…everything.

"I hate you." She merely whispered the three words, but they were there. Hatred was the only word to describe the tempest inside her mind.

The Sith stared up at her, breathing hard, glaring at her. "Do it," he seethed through clenched teeth. "Do it. Kill me. No one is here to see you. Kill me. Become the very thing you've hated from the very start."

"Shut up!" she growled angrily, bringing the lightsabers a dangerous inch closer to his flesh.

There isn't anyone around. She glanced backwards, not seeing Anakin anywhere in sight. She checked his Force-signature – sensed him beginning to awaken. If she was going to do it, she had to do it now.

And suddenly, her mind flashed back to several years ago, the memory of a strange planet called Mortis surfacing, along with a vision she had once had as a Jedi Padawan. The dream of her future self, warning her, begging her to leave Anakin's training. "There is a seed of the dark side in you, as in him…you may never see your fate…."

Seed of the dark side. Hatred, angry…murder, death. Revenge.

Ahsoka locked eyes with the Sith, whom she could kill in a split second. A flick of her wrist. She could say he was killed in battle. Lies. All lies. More deception. Was that what she really wanted.

It was against the code to kill an unarmed man; but it wasn't if he was killed in battle. Hesitating just a moment, Ahsoka suddenly deactivated the Sith's lightsaber and threw it at his feet. "Pick it up," she snapped harshly, still glaring at him. "Fight me."

This definitely wasn't in his plan. "No. If you want to kill me, you will do it now."

"Pick. It. Up. Fight me."

Sith Hex Martial scowled at her, before glancing at the lightsaber, and then back up. "Oh, how righteous you must be, not striking down an unarmed man. I have nothing else to live for except my revenge, so I have nothing else to lose. Really, I would accept a painful death eagerly, cast all my pain towards hating you and your Chosen One. All you are proving now is that you are weak."

"I am proving that I am a Jedi," she replied, managing to keep most of her heavy emotions void from her tone.

Slowly, not taking his eyes off her, he reached out and grasped the weapon. "You are making a terrible mistake, girl. Once I kill you, I'll butcher your Master, and then go after your fiancé. And then your friends. The entire OUSO will be under my control, and with it I will…"

"Will what?" she taunted. This time, it was her turn to jeer her enemy. "Rule the galaxy? Have Orderon and its surrounding empire under your control? You sound just like Pre Vizla from Death Watch, and do you know how he ended up? His decapitated head sitting on the throne of Mandalore!"

"Enough! I am not Vizla! I am a Sith disciple, wielder of the dark side, you worst enemy!"

Ahsoka offered just the slightest hint of a smirk. "Prove it."

The challenge was enough. The Sith used the Force and jumped into the air, bearing his lightsaber down hard on her. She countered the attack with a series of swift kicks, dodges, and slashes, making sure to keep moving, her entire focus on the enemy.

The Sith's refueled anger seemed to double his strength, to her dismay. He attacked with more brutality, more strength, and soon enough, Ahsoka found herself in a full defensive position, using her energy just trying not to get hit by the blood-red blade that was constantly flying after her.

"Still think you made the right choice not killing me?" the Sith jeered, hacking at her violently, spitting in her face, trying with all his power to bring her down. He was mad with the urge to revenge, she could see that now.

It was one moment. One second. That was all it took for her to sink into the Force, let it take control over her body. She twisted, she kicked. She caught him in the knees, he stumbled. She lashed out, swung her lightsaber.

There was the hum of her blade in the air.

There was a scream.

A cry of pain.

A sizzle.

And then, there was nothing.

Over.

Gone.

Done forever.

I am Ahsoka Tano.

She stared down at the fallen Sith, who was lying on the ground, not moving. Then, she stared at her shoto, the brilliant emerald blade sizzling as the rain fell on it, causing tiny crackling sounds that accompanied the sounds of the thunder and storm.

A germ of the dark side. A seed. Inside of me.

Not anymore.

She felt a heavy weight lift from her chest as the light side of the Force flooded her spirit. Her eyes widened, she breathed out, for the first time in her life feeing pure peace.

She collapsed onto the ground.

She lay there, on the stone, just breathing, her mind swimming back and forth from past to present, back and forth, back and forth. Memories flashed in front of her eyes, and she felt tears roll down her cheeks.

I'm free.

She wasn't sure what that statement meant really, but it fit what she was feeling. Relief. Utter relief.

And then she felt something else. Strong arms wrapping around her, bringing her to her knees. She looked up through the tears. He was holding her, lovingly, just like a brother should.

"It's over, Ahsoka," Anakin whispered quietly. "You did it. It's over."

There was an ugly gash on his forehead, which was oozing blood. But he was alive, and suddenly, she was clinging to him, sobbing uncontrollably. She was free, and the feeling almost hurt even. Free of her pain, her guilt, her inner torment. She had resisted the dark side, she had destroyed the silent enemy. She buried her face in his robes, and he held her tight, not letting go. Not letting go ever again.

They cried together. Brother and sister. Hardly noticing when the shuttle appeared above them.

Lux Bonteri and Obi-Wan Kenobi ran over to them seconds later. Obi-Wan immediately fell to his knees near his apprentice, and Anakin turned to him. The two Jedi locked eyes, relief flowing through their gaze as Obi-Wan looked his partner over, unable to control his joy at making it in time.

Lux knelt down near Ahsoka, gently taking her into his loving arms, swaying and quieting her stifling cries. "It's okay, Ahsoka," he whispered quietly. "Everything's okay, now."

"C-Commander…" she managed to reply. "He was a traitor! B-Barriss is d-dead, oh Lux…"

He kissed her forehead. "It's okay."

She looked up into his warm eyes, getting swept away into the love that poured from them. "You came."

He leaned in closer to her. "Of course."

"B-But Coruscant…"

Lux smiled warmly. "It's a miracle, Ahsoka. A miracle. The Holocaust – it's ended. Ker and Amber, they're alright. They worked with the Jedi, and they won the battle. Coruscant is fine."

He bent over, and kissed her. And she held him, refusing to ever let go of him.

It was over.

It was two weeks later. Two weeks after the death of Hex Martial, two weeks after the Holocaust. Two weeks since the train of events occurred in which her life had changed forever.

Ahsoka Tano stood straight and tall, hands folded in front of her, heart pounding. Slowly, she felt strong, warm hands take her own, and then something was slipped over her finger.

Lux Bonteri slipped the ring over her finger, and then locked eyes with her, smiling. In front of them, the holy man raised his hands over the couple. "Ahsoka Tano, do you take Lux Bonteri as your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold, through richer and poorer, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, 'till death do you part?"

Do you really have to ask? Ahsoka felt as if in an ecstasy as she whispered the two words, "I do."

Lux said his vows, and her stomach fluttered. And then, she heart the phrase she had been waiting for so long to hear.

"I now pronounce you man and wife."

The holy man prepared to say the words, "You may kiss your bride," but Lux was already sweeping Ahsoka into his arms, and his lips were against her, full of passion, full of love.

She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around him, feeling the power of their love soar in the heavens. The large audience began cheering and clapping, and as she pulled away, she stared right at him.

"I love you."

Lux grinned, and kissed her again as a response.

All of Orderon was watching, either in person or on the holo-net. The marriage of Lux Bonteri was a public event, and when Ahsoka finally pulled away from the kiss for a second time, the audience of a hundred all began dancing and flinging flowers into the air. The soft white petals fell around her, matching the gown she was adorned in. She entwined her fingers with Lux's, and waved to the crowd.

And that's when she saw him. Standing behind a tree in the background, watching her wedding. And her happiness overflowed.

Only when the reception was well underway did she take time away from her new husband to walk away from the party and approach him. He was dressed in his cloak, but he immediately threw the hood off his head and ran to her, hugging her closely as soon as she was close enough.

She pulled away gently, laughing. "I'm so happy you're here – so, so happy."

Anakin beamed at his former Padawan. "Did you really think I'd miss this, Snips?"

"Why don't you join the reception?"

Slowly, Anakin's smile dimmed just a bit. "I…I'm actually here to say goodbye."

"What?" She felt a strange twist in her gut, and she swallowed hard. "Goodbye? B-But…"

"I want to stay, Ahsoka," he said quickly. "I really do. But Obi-Wan and I have just been summoned to the Outer Rim. There are some sieges going on, and they need our help. I-I leave in five minutes. I need to go back to Coruscant and meet Obi-Wan before going to the Outer Rim."

She couldn't stop the tear from escaping her watch – she wanted her brother here. Today. On her wedding day.

As soon as he saw it, he lifted his hand and gently wiped it away. "As soon as I get back, I'll visit, okay? I promise. Ahsoka, I promise."

She stared into his crystal blue eyes. Something felt wrong – the Force was sending her a strange feeling, dread, and she didn't want him to go. "Do you have to?"

Anakin offered a comforting smile. "I'll be back, Snips, don't worry."

She didn't want this day ruined, so reluctantly, she forced a smile, and came up with an idea. "As soon as you come back, we'll spend some time together," she said quietly. "You can come here, and we'll all have a picnic or something. Me and Lux and you and…Padme."

Anakin's blue eyes grew wide, and he took a step backwards. "What are you talking about…"

"I've known," she stated, firmly but warmly. "I've always known and Anakin…she's perfect for you. I'm glad you love her, and I know she loves you back."

He stared at her, gaping, for several minutes before slowly his lips curved into a grin, and he laughed shakily, running a hand through his hair. "You know."

She smirked. "Of course."

He let out another laugh. "It's a double date then."

Almost meekly, she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him. He pulled her into an equally warm embrace, sighing as he held her. "Be careful," she whispered quietly, sounding once again like that little girl he had first met on Christophsis that day they had been united.

He heard that little girl, and he clung to her. "I will. You too, okay? Make sure Bonteri takes care of you."

She didn't want to pull away, but she had to. Reluctantly, she let go, and Anakin backed up away from her, staring at her sadly. She wanted to tell him how much she appreciated his training, how much she cared about him, that he was her brother. But he already knew – she could see that in his eyes.

This was it. What they had needed all along.

Closure.

Just then, Lux walked over, wrapping an arm around his wife. "I'm glad you here," he remarked, smiling at Anakin.

Anakin nodded. "But I have to leave now. I take it you haven't reconsidered joining the Jedi?

Quickly, Lux shook his head, chuckling. "I have other duties now. I'm a husband, and I want to be a father."

Anakin nodded again, and he slipped the hood back over his head. "Take care of her, okay?"

"You know I will," Lux assured him, waving.

Anakin turned and began walking away. Ahsoka watched torn, struggling to control her overwhelming emotions.

One last time, Anakin turned to look at her, and smiled. "May the Force be with you, Ahsoka."

She didn't know how to respond, but finally, she smiled through her tears, and nodded. "May the Force be with you, Master."

Then, he walked away, got into his Starfighter; and he was gone.

Even after he was out of sight, she couldn't stop staring at where he had just been standing. Lux saw her tears, and frowned. "What's wrong? What is it?"

She didn't know how to describe her feelings, but she tried. "I don't know, but Lux…Lux I have this terrible feeling. I'm afraid, Lux. I…I have the feeling I'm never going to see him again."

He squeezed her gently, bringing her closer to him. "He'll be fine, Ahsoka. You know him – he can take care of himself."

She forced the worry out of her mind, shoved the feelings of dread away. Lux was write. Anakin could take care of himself. She looked up at him and smiled. "Thanks for saying that. You're right."

"Aren't I always?" He leaned down and kissed her.

She was a Jedi. A fighter. A prisoner and a hero. She was a fugitive, a role model. A Knight and a fallen warrior. A soldier, a fiancé, a lover. Now she was a wife, and now she had started a legacy that she never even knew she had started.

And her name was Ahsoka.

Well? What did you think? REVIEW!

Sadly, if you didn't guess before, Anakin is going off to the Outer Rim seiges, as in Revenge of the Sith. And Ahsoka was right - she won't be seeing him again, because after Revenge of the Sith he becomes Darth Vader.

I really hope you enjoyed this fiction. Review PLEASE! Check out my profile for more stories and hint hint:

There might be a sequel coming up called Living a Legacy, so look for that too in the future :D
