A/N: Hey! So, here is the 'epilogue' for Hotel Chelsea. I swear I had uploaded this months ago, but it appears that I didn't. :/ Oops! I hope this answers a lot of your questions. It's short, but hopefully it ties everything together. Cheers!
"Draco, can you get the door?" Hermione called from the kitchen. It had been a week since they had 'escaped' from that demented hotel, and her and Draco had been inseparable. He had been renting a flat, and she had moved in with him. Even though she denied it to everyone, she still had nightmares about that night at the hotel, and she didn't want to be alone.
"Of course dear!" Draco drawled sarcastically. Before he could open the door, it was flung open with a flash of red hair buzzing past him.
"Hi Draco! Where's Hermione? Hermione!" Ginny shouted all at once, while running into the kitchen towards Hermione.
"What in Merlin's name?" Draco mumbled to himself. Turning back to the door, he noticed Harry standing there with his hands in his pockets and a grin on his face.
"Morning Malfoy."
"Potter. To what do we owe this pleasure?"
"Ginny and I found something in the paper we think you two ought to see," he replied, walking in.
The two walked into the kitchen, where Hermione was sitting at the table reading a paper and was slowly turning pale. She looked up and said, "Draco, look at this."
Draco walked over and sat beside her, pulling the paper towards him so he could read.
Majestic Hotel Chelsea Burns Along With Haunted Past
The famous Hotel Chelsea was found in burnt ruins last week. It was once the center of attraction for royalty all over the world; muggles and wizards, actors and actresses. But due to one terrible occurrence 150 years ago, it had been shut down, and long forgotten.
What was this terrible occurrence to make such a grand hotel close? The owner, and oftentimes, the concierge, of the Hotel Chelsea was Henry Goldstein, who had named the hotel after his daughter, Chelsea, who lived in the hotel with him. Mary Goldstein, the wife of the owner and mother of the hotel's namesake, also lived in the hotel. The Goldsteins were a prominent, pureblood wizarding family, and despite having a vendetta against muggles and muggleborns, in order for their hotel to thrive, they put aside their prejudices.
According to reports from the staff, the hotel was closed one night due to a blizzard, and there were no guests at the time. It was on this night that one of the most heinous murders took place. Members of the staff had heard screams coming from upstairs in one of the guest rooms, and when they reached the room, they found Mary Goldstein lying dead on the floor with multiple stab wounds. They went searching for Henry Goldstein, only to find him (with several pieces of him missing) dead in the dining room. The staff searched the hotel for Chelsea Goldstein, but could not find her. After alerting the Ministry of Magic of the Goldstein's deaths, Aurors arrived, investigating and interrogating everything and everyone. There was no evidence found to lead the Aurors to the murderer, and they never found little Chelsea. The hotel was closed down, and the case of the Goldstein murders was left unsolved, as well as the disappearance of Chelsea Goldstein.
But there have been rumors about what may have actually happened. Mr. Goldstein had been the one to stab and murder his wife, Mary. He then murdered his daughter and disposed of her body. But then how is it that Mr. Goldstein was found hacked up in the dining room? Was it his wife and daughter come back from the dead to seek revenge?
No one knows for sure what happened on that blistery night, but there have been reports of people driving by the long, closed hotel, seeing lights on and people standing at the windows. Was the Hotel Chelsea haunted? And how exactly did it burn down, burning its secrets with it?
"Well, now we know who they were," Draco said.
"This is horrible! Why would someone kill his wife and daughter? And he was hack—oh Merlin!" Hermione gasped, feeling sick to her stomach.
"Well, it explains a lot, but it also leaved many unanswered questions," Harry stated.
"Right, like why certain magic wouldn't work for us-"Draco said.
"And why certain magic did work," Ginny cut him off.
"And why she stabbed me," Hermione whispered.
"Well, they were wizards, so obviously they knew about apparition and such, so somehow, in their—deadly state—they set up anti apparition wards," Draco suggested.
"It makes sense," Harry said quietly.
"But why could Harry cast the Fiendfyre?" Ginny asked.
Hermione looked up. "When did it say the Goldstein's died?"
Draco grabbed the paper and read. "Uh, looks like about 150 years ago."
"The spell for Fiendfyre wasn't invented until 100 years ago! They wouldn't have known about that spell!" Hermione said.
"Okay, so now our next question—why would she stab you?" Ginny asked.
No one produced any answers.
Finally, Hermione said, "I think Mary and Chelsea just wanted someone to know how they felt. Know what they had to go through, even though they didn't ask for it; they didn't deserve it. I think she would have stabbed any of us, but it had just happened to be me she grabbed."
After a few minutes of silence, Draco said, "Well Potter, I hope this proves one thing."
Harry looked up confused and asked, "What's that?"
"The next time we go on a little get-away trip, let someone else pick the destination and pit stops."
