Victoria's POV:
I pulled into the parking lot of school feeling out of it. I got out of the car grabbing my backpack. Elena and Bonnie came together to school today. I had dreamt of Damon Salvatore for the first time last night and he was all that was constantly running through my head right now.
I watched as Matt and his friend tossed the ball back and forth as Bonnie and Elena were walking up towards me.
"I'm not saying don't date the guy, I'm just saying take it slow," Bonnie told Elena as she closed her side of the car door. Elena looked at Bonnie pointing her finger at her.
"You are the one who said to go for it," Elena exclaimed.
"Now, I'm saying take it slow," Bonnie said as her and Elena headed over towards me.
"Why the about face," Elena commented.
"It's not the about face," Bonnie said looking down shrugging.
"You're single for the first time in your high school career. It's the perfect time to play the field," Bonnie explained.
Elena laughed sarcastically and said, "Oh because I am so that girl. Seriously, what are you not saying?"
"It's stupid," Bonnie said and Elena pulled her to a stop just as they reached me.
"Bonnie," Elena warned," Spit it out,"
"I accidently touched Stefan …and I got a really bad feeling," was all Bonnie said.
"Is that it?" I asked her. They looked over at me.
Bonnie went to storm off, but this time I caught her wrist and said, "Bonnie."
She turned and said, "It was bad, bad."
I smiled and asked, "Is this the whole witch mojo thing again?"
"You know what I am just concerned for Elena," Bonnie said to me glancing at Elena.
"This is me expressing concern for my best friend's new boyfriend," she told us.
Elena placed both her hand on Bonnie's arms and said, "And I love you for it, I do…but I feel good. It's been a hard year and I am starting to feel like things are getting back to normal again…and you know what Stefan is a big part of that."
Bonnie smiled and nodded. I smiled and shouted, "GROUP HUG!"
I wrapped my arms around the both of them and held them tight.
When I pulled back I felt like I was being watched and scanned the area to see Tyler Lockwood watching me. Bonnie and Elena exchanged looks of understanding, and I picked my back pack up off the ground and walked towards the picnic tables. He soon sauntered over to me.
"Hey Tor," he said, I only nodded to him in response as I turned to my backpack and pulled out my phone.
"Listen I wanted to know if you were free tonight," he kept going.
I looked up at him and said with a one shoulder shrug, "I'm busy."
"Well are you busy tomorrow?" he asked searching my face.
"Tyler I am not going out with you," I told him finally giving up. His face fell into a stony hard look.
"Why not?" he snapped.
"Because I know what you do to girls…you use them, and then dump them."
"That didn't stop us last year," he said as he got closer to me and placed his hand on my upper thigh.
I slapped his hand away and said, "It's not like you gave me a choice!"
By this time we caught a lot of people's attention. I felt tears gather in my eyes as I grabbed my bag and shoved past Tyler. I stormed away from him and walked over towards Jeremy who was smoking a joint. I grabbed it from him and before he could protest I put it up to my lips and inhaled deeply. I handed it back to him he still wore the solemn face he had on before. I sighed and sat down next to him.
"I rock! I scored two tickets to the Posers Saturday night, they are playing at the Rad," Vicki Donavan spoke up as she came walking over to us.
"You and Tyler have fun," Jeremy said in a cold voice without looking up at her.
She moved her head from side to side saying "Don't be like that. Come on I want you to go."
She put her hand on his forearm.
"What? You not worried that everyone will know that you're screwing the stoner geek, oh wait everyone already knows."
"Yeah, but it's not like that anymore soooo now we can be friends and just hang," she said giving him a smirk.
"Tell me something; was it the drugs wer-were you sleeping with me because of the drugs?"
"Screw you," she said with a hurt face.
"No, well if there is another reason, please I'm all ears," he told her sarcastically and waited for her to reply, but she wasn't quick enough, he got up and walked away. I got up and she looked at me I gave her smile. I was high.
I skipped to the front of the school were I saw Elena and Bonnie again. I skipped towards them. They gave me a weird look.
"Morning Elena," we heard Stefan say. We all turned to see him walking up to us.
"Morning Tor, and Bonnie," he greeted us after Elena…I giggled and they looked at me weirdly, but shrugged it off.
"Um, I-I got to find Caroline she isn't answering her phone. See you guys later," Bonnie stumbled over her words before walking away quickly.
"Bonnie wait," Elena said, but Bonnie brushed her off and kept walking.
"Bonnie Bennet get your ass back here!" I yelled after her. She gave me a look over her shoulder and kept walking.
"Bitch ignored me," I mumbled crossing my arms with a pout.
Stefan watched her walk away before turning back to Elena saying, "She doesn't like me very much."
"She doesn't know you," Elena said with a small smile on her face, "She's just my best friend she is just looking out for me, but when she does she will love you."
"Yeah Stefan, you have nothing to worry about. It didn't take us long to become friends!" I said with a grin.
"See," Elena said with a smirk. Stefan chuckled.
Elena looked over up at Matt and saw what I saw Mat and Tyler talking. Elena followed Tyler's gaze to me.
"For some reason Tyler Lockwood can't keep his eyes off of you," Elena commented to me. I sighed and rubbed my face with my hands saying, "Yeah please don't remind me."
"Why what happened?" she asked concern filled her eyes. We stopped walking and I sighed again. Her and Stefan were waiting.
"He asked me to go out with him," I told her.
"Really? And why is that such a bad thing?" she asked me. I bit my lip and shook my head. I didn't want anyone to know. So I did the only thing a rationally sane person would do.
"Oh my god what is that?" I asked them pointing in a random direction. Both of them looked and I turned on my heal and ran. I raced into the school and went to my first period class which sadly was Tanner.
I doodled in my notebook even when the bell rang and through the beginning of class even when Tanner was calling on random people for answers.
"World War Two ended in…anyone got anything? Miss. Won?" he called on his next victim. Won shrugged her shoulders.
"1945," I mumbled to myself and just like that Tanner repeated it. I smirked to myself. I was really good in history, but I hated Tanner so I tried to piss him off as much as I could. I may look dumb, but I am pretty smart.
"Psst," I heard Elena, "FYI our team sucks and could use you."
She was leaning over on her desk and looking at Stefan. Talk about being obvious! I swear I am the smarter Twin!
"Pearl Harbor," Tanner said not noticing them.
"Can't," Stefan whispered back being just as obvious, "I'm a loner."
I laughed at that and looked up when I heard Tanner say, "Miss. Gilbert?"
I rolled my eyes and asked, "Which one?"
"You," Tanner said giving me an eye full of his evilness. EVIL!
Elena looked at me with a guilty look.
"December 7, 1941," Stefan said.
"Thank you…Miss. Gilbert," Tanner said giving him a smirk.
"Anytime," Stefan said. Tanner looked at me and said, "Very well, but this one goes to Miss. Gilbert this time. The fall of the Berlin Wall."
"1989. I'm good with dates, sir," I spoke up this time emphazing the sir in a nasty tone. He gave me a look like that told me he had no idea I was smart. FOOL YOU EVIL EYES!
"Are you? How good? Keep it to the year," he said with a challenging look gleaming through his eyes.
I nodded and the games began, "Civil Rights Act."
"1964."
"John F. Kennedy Assassination."
"1963."
"Martin Luther King."
"'68."
"Lincoln?"
"1865."
"Ro versus Wade."
"1973."
"Brown versus Borne."
"1954."
"The battle of Gettysburg," he was so close to my desk he could me standing on it.
"1863."
"Korean War."
"1950-1953."
He bent down and let out a sarcastic laugh and said, "Ha! It ended in fifty two!"
"Uh actually sir, it was '53," Stefan commented. His face and eyes had shock written in them. Seems like I look really dumb to everyone. Tanner was already half way back towards his desk, but he turned around again and turned back around fully and said in a very pissed tone, "Look it up somebody! Quickly!"
Some guy had his phone out and he said, "It was 19…53."
Everyone in the room gasped and I lowered my head and smirked. Oh I love my smart brain. Reading a lot of books helps! Everyone started clapping and I smirked and Elena even clapped her hands.
The bell rang I swiftly got my stuff and headed out of the classroom. Elena caught my arm and stared at me in amazement.
"How did you know all of that?" she asked me.
"Lots and lots of books, my twin, lots and lots of books," I said with a smile, I looked at Stefan and added, "It's a loner thing."
He laughed with me and Elena shook her head with a smirk.
Several long periods of classes later and Elena, Bonnie, and I were stretching on the grass for cheerleading. I did a cart wheel several back flips and right now I was comfortably in a split.
"I can't be sad girl forever," Elena spoke up; "The only way to get things back to the way they were are to do things that were. Oh and you're coming to dinner tonight."
"I am?" she asked with a smile on her face.
"Yes you, me, Stefan, and Victoria," she said and Bonnie gave her a look.
"You have to give him a chance," I exclaimed when I say that look.
"Tonight's no good," Bonnie said still giving her that there is no way I am going look.
"Have you seen Caroline I texted her like a hundred times," Bonnie said sneakily trying to change the subject.
"Don't change the subject Bonnie Bennet!" Elena scolded, "You are going to be there."
"Fine, I'll go," Bonnie exclaimed while I was doing a back bend.
"Good," I said looking at her.
"You like the girl from the grudge," Elena commented.
"Might I remind you," I stood up straight, "That we are identical twins."
She glared at me and shook her head and Bonnie laughed while I did a front hand spring.
"Seriously where is Caroline?" Bonnie exclaimed.
Elena was taking a sip of her drink and shrugged saying, "I don't know. It's not like her."
As if on cue a Blue Cadillac heads in our direction.
"I'll try her again," Bonnie said, I grab her arm and say, "Um…I think that's her."
The car parks and Caroline leans over and gives him a long kiss.
"That must be the Mystery Guy from the grill," Bonnie commented.
"Oh that is no Mystery Guy," I said.
"What?" Bonnie asked.
"That's Damon Salvatore," I said pointing at him. I did another split but this time I stretched while I was in the split.
"Salvatore? As in Stefan?" Bonnie asked both her and Elena got up off the ground.
"Yup," I said popping the 'p'. Caroline got out of the car and slammed it behind her. She was wearing a scarf! To cheer leading tryouts?! She walked past Bonnie, Elena, and me.
"I got the other brother," she said looking at Elena then at me. I wanted to choke her right her right now! I could take her on!
"Hope you don't mind," she added before walking in the front of the group.
"Sorry I was late girls I was, uh, busy," Caroline said, as me and Elena shared a look. She gave me a frown and I knew she did to make me feel better, but that would get rid of the pang I felt and to be honest it annoyed me. I looked towards the car again to see Damon staring at me with a smirk that said, 'I know you're jealous.'
I rolled my eyes before turning my back to the car and listened as it pulled out of the parking lot and I got into position.
"One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, eight," I was struggling to keep up, but I was getting the hang of it as for Elena…not so much.
She looked at me asking me for help. Like I could even do this right myself!
Caroline kept counting and I was tempted to comment in it.
"Elena sweetie why don't you and Victoria just observe today, okay?" Caroline said. I was about to smack that goofy smile off her face, but Elena grabbed my arm and tugged me once. I glared at Caroline before we walked towards the bench.
Elena's attention was taken over by the football players, but only one in particular-holy crow it was Stefan! Stefan got on the team!
And damn…he was really good! HE was able to miss Tyler on his attempt to tackle him! Not only once did this happen, but several and the best part was I could see Tyler getting pissed!
I giggled and we both snuck up closer to watch Stefan play. I saw the admiration on Elena's face and I even knew before she did that she was falling and she falling hard.
This time when Matt threw the ball both Tyler and Stefan ran for, but instead of catching the ball Tyler knocked him down. Stefan laid there for a few minutes Tyler was probably giving him a nasty comment.
"You going to live Salvatore?!" I heard Tanner yell to Stefan sat up and said, "Yeah!"
Matthew to the rescue! He came in and helped Stefan up they had to be saying something to each other otherwise they would be staring into each other's eyes and that would be creepy!
Stefan raced back towards the locker room with the rest of the guys. Elena tugged on my sleeve and said, "Come on Tor lets go home."
I grabbed her arm and we started to walk towards her car.
Stefan's POV:
The football tryout went better than I expected. I was pulling on a long sleeved V-neck navy blue shirt as I walked into my room. I paused when I saw Damon sitting at my desk with his feet folded on top of it.
"How were tryouts? Did you make the team?" he asked giving me a smirk, "Very emersion the way you reveal your soul. With so many-"
I raced over to him at my vampire speed and grabbed the book from his hands.
"Adjectives," he continued.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him wrapping the string around my journal once more.
He took his feet off my desk and turned to face me even more.
"I've come to apologize," he started, "I have been doing some thinking. Some soul searching and…I want us to start over. We need to put the past behind us."
He got up off the chair and came up to me saying, "You're my little brother and if you want to live and if you want to live a normal happy human life then I want that for you. You know maybe I can do it too. I can learn to be a non-non-living person too. Maybe there's hope for both of us."
Damon looked like was going to start crying, but then he snorted and started laughing. He was mocking me. He walked past me and slapped my back.
"You know it doesn't have to be this way, Damon," I told him.
"Of course it doesn't. I saw the twins today BTW…that means 'by the way' they were at cheerleading practice and Victoria looked sssooo perky in her little short shorts," Damon said smirking shaking his head back and forth as he played with a black feather that was on my desk. I gritted my teeth and he said, "Simmer down I didn't even go near her. Got my own cheerleader now. Ooo that reminds me…I gotta run I've a date."
He put the feather back before he rubbed his hands together really fast and said, "Sweaty palms."
He blew into his hands and said, "Wish me luck."
He walked out of the room. I swear if he even touches either Elena or Victoria I will kill him.
Victoria's POV:
"You explain it," Bonnie complained, "Last night I was watching nine oh and this commercial comes on and I'm like I bet it's that phone commercial and sure enough it's the guy and the girl with the bench, he flies to Paris and he flies back and takes a picture."
"Oh come on Bonnie! So are you telling me you can use your witch mojo on a TV?!" I exclaimed with a laugh, she scowled at me.
"Oh come on that commercial is on a constant loop," Elena chimed in.
"Fine…well how about this?" Bonnie started before shrugging saying, "Today I am obsessed with numbers. Three numbers eight fourteen and twenty two. How weird is that?"
I put more food into other dishes because Elena was too lazy to cook she decided Italian food from a restaurant would be good enough…stupid twin.
"Maybe we should play the lottery," I said with a smile.
"Have you talked to your grams?" Elena asked her.
"She's just going to say it's because I am a witch and I don't want to be a witch," she said before asking, "Do you want to be a witch?"
"I don't want to be a witch," Elena answered.
"I DO!" I said in a sing song voice. They gave me a weird look.
"What it has been a lifelong dream of mine? I could put a curse on all my enemies and protect those I love it's a win, win!" I exclaimed they both just laughed at me.
"You know putting it in a pretty dish isn't fooling anyone," Bonnie commented to Elena, as Elena poured spaghetti with sauce on it, in a bowl.
"That's what I said! Lazy twin didn't want to cook!" I exclaimed causing Bonnie to laugh. Elena glared at me.
"Okay…serving spoons, where are the serving spoons?" I mumbled to myself as I spun around the kitchen.
"Middle draw on your left," Bonnie said turning and pointing. I opened the draw and found what I needed.
"How?!" I exclaimed looking at Bonnie in shock.
"So you have been in this kitchen a thousand times," Elena said before going back to what she was doing.
"Yeah that's it," she gave her a disbelieving look.
The doorbell rang and Elena and Bonnie looked at each other.
"Okay he's here," Elena said, "Don't be nervous just be your normal, loving self."
I hid in the living room by the front door having a brilliant idea. Elena greeted Stefan by the door and let him in on her way to the dining room I stuck my foot out and she let out a squeal and fell onto the floor face first. I flipped on the lights and started laughing. She growled at me and slowly stood up menacingly. My eyes widened she looked like she could explode from her embarrassment and rage.
"STEFAN SAVE ME!" I yelled ducking behind him.
He laughed at me as I coward behind him. I poked my head out from behind Stefan and said, "I love you Twinie."
She rolled her eyes and we walked into the dining room I made sure to sit across the table so this way she wouldn't be able to lunge at me. We all started eating right away and the room was filled with such awkward tension I began to squirm in my seat a little. I hate awkward situations.
"I HAVE TO PEE!" I exclaimed before racing out of the room it filled with laughter, but died away just as quickly as it started. I raced into the bathroom and did my business taking as much time as I could, playing with my hair. I started making faces at myself in the mirror before I heard the doorbell ring. I opened the door and heard a bang and then and oof. I slowly peaked behind the door to see Elena on the ground glaring at me.
"That would be the second time tonight," she growled.
"Yeah, but the first time was intentional," I said hiding half my face behind the door so all she could see were my eyes as I smiled
She hopped off the floor and ran at me, but I swung the door back at her again and that would be the third time tonight. I was laughing so hard that I almost fell to the floor myself, but I was laughing all the way to the door and then I opened it and I immediately stopped laughing. There stood Caroline and Damon.
"Elena did you invite anyone else?" I called to her keeping my eyes on the 'couple' in front of me.
"No, why?" she asked in a pissy tone.
"Because there are two people at the door who I am not completely fond of!" I called back.
"Bonnie said you were doing dinner so we brought dessert," Caroline spoke up, with a cake in her hands.
"Hope you don't mind," Damon said, he was empty handed.
I debated it before sighing and said, "Fine you can come in."
Caroline came in, but Damon didn't. I didn't allow him.
"And what did you bring?" I asked him folding my arms and leaning against the doorway.
"My girlfriend who had the cake," Damon said with a snarky smirk.
I sighed and said, "Nope not good enough."
I slammed the door on his face.
"VICTORIA!" Elena scolded.
"What?! No present, no entry!" I yelled back that was mostly true, I only made this rule for people I was not fond of. Hence me slamming the door in Damon's face!
"You are so rude," she mumbled before opening the door back up. I scoffed and went upstairs and into my room.
I sulked, sitting on my bed, pulling out my sketch book and drew that crow I kept seeing. It actually came out way better than I had expected.
"That's really good," I heard a voice come from behind me making me jump. I turned to look at Damon.
"Thanks," I mumbled.
"What's with you?"
"What you mean?"
"Why do you hate me?"
"I-I don't hate you, Damon. I don't judge people I barely know."
He gives me the creeps.
"So why are you giving me the cold shoulder."
"I didn't you just didn't bring me a present," I scoffed as I turned back to my crow. Lies! All Lies! I could tell he could see my jealousy seeping through. He could tell, but he didn't show that he knew…at the moment.
"You were serious about that?" he asked me as he walked around my room.
"Uh, yeah, hence the door slamming in your face," I said rolling my eyes. Obviously an excuse to do so.
"How about I make it up to you and buy you dinner," he said sending a smirk my way. Who did he think I was?! Caroline?
"Sorry don't let best friends boyfriends buy me dinner," I mumbled as I got caught up in my drawing. I wanted him out of my room….pronto.
"I-"he started, but was cut off when Caroline came in and said, "There you are!"
Of course. Damon rolled his eyes and said, "Here I am!"
"I was looking all over for you babe, we are waiting in the living room for you guys," she explained. In other words she thought she would pop in here and see if I was getting to close to her boy toy.
I sighed and put my art sketch book back down before getting off my bed and stretched.
"What were you doing up here babe?" Caroline asked Damon. So innocent. I rolled my eyes for what seemed like the billionth time that day.
"I was hanging out with Victoria. Getting to know more about my girlfriend's best friend and my brother's girlfriend's sister," Damon said in an innocent tone. What an ass. I cocked up an eye brow before shaking my head and walking out of the room.
We all walked down stairs and into the living room where Bonnie, Elena, and Stefan sat awkwardly. Elena handed me a cup of coffee that I would need if I were going to stay awake through this conversation or whatever you want to call it.
I sat down next to Elena on the couch and Damon sat down on the chair that was empty which also happens to be the one right next to me. Caroline sat on the arm furthest away from me. Good. Serves her right for the way she treated me today.
"I cannot believe that Tanner let you on the team," Caroline exclaimed wasting no time into getting into gossip. I rolled my eyes and rested my head back. Just what I need.
"Ugh, Tyler must be seething bu-but good for you, go for it," Caroline said with a smile on her face. Stop talking Car you make things worse.
"That's what I always tell him. You have to engage, you can't wait for life to come to you, you have to go get it," Damon spoke up looking at Stefan in a taunting way. I swear I am going to stab someone tonight.
"Yeah Elena and Tor weren't so lucky today, it's only because you guys missed summer camp. God I don't know how you guys are going to learn with the routines," Caroline said as if Damon never spoke. And there was the comment that she had been waiting to make.
"I'll work with them," Bonnie said glaring at Caroline, "They'll get it."
"I guess we could put them in the back," Caroline said more to herself then to anyone. I glared at Caroline myself. What a bitch!
"You know you don't seem like the…cheerleader type, Victoria," Damon said looking at me I looked down giving a small smile before taking a sip of the bitter black coffee. Ass, I whispered in my head.
"That just 'cause her parents died. Yeah I mean they are just totally going through a blah phase. Victoria went to Italy to get away from the whole thing. Elena and Jeremy stayed here dealing with it. Victoria used to be way more fun-"
Bonnie glared at her as did Elena, but I sat there not even caring. I was so done! I could be like one of those people who flip off everyone and say screw you bitches!
"-and I mean that with complete sensitivity," Caroline continued getting the message from Bonnie and Elena. Sha right!
"I'm sorry Victoria and Elena. I know what it's like to lose both your parents. In fact Stefan and I have watched almost every single person we cared about die," Damon said looking at me instead of both me and Elena.
"We don't need to get into that right now, Damon," Stefan said with an un-amused expression on his face. Damon was pushing it. Pushing Stefan's last buttons. I could tell something wasn't right between them. They always seemed tense around each other.
"Ugh, you know what you're right Stefan, I-the last thing I wanted to do was to bring her up," Damon said sucking air through is teeth as if silently saying 'my bad', but it wasn't real because as soon as he did that he had a smirk on his face. So he had every intention on bring Katherine up in front of Elena.
"Well I am going to clean up dinner," I announced finally speaking up through that awkwardness and I quickly took Bonnie's and Elena's mug along with my own and walked off into the kitchen where I took all the dishes and started rinsing them off. I wanted out.
I put a plate in the dish washer and turned back to the sink when I heard, "One more."
I turned to see Damon walking in with a glass cup. I ran my hands through my hair and he walked over to me.
"Hm, thanks," I said as I reached out for it and her let go of the glass and I let out a gasp as it hurdled towards the floor, but before it reach the floor Damon magically caught it. Interesting.
I laughed and clapped saying, "You, sir, are a wizard!"
"I like you," he said pointing his finger at me with a smirk. He walked over to other side of the dishwasher. I couldn't tell!
"You know how to laugh," he continued, "Your sister makes Stefan laugh which I haven't seen in a very long time."
"Earlier did you mean Katherine?" I asked him going to put another plate in the dishwasher, but he took it from me and placed it in there for me. I wanted to get to the bottom of this whole Katherine thing. I wanted to know if Katherine and the Salvatore's past would affect Stefan and my sister.
"Mhm," he replied. I wanted to know more.
"How did she die?" I asked him.
He frowned for a moment before saying, "In a fire, tragic fire."
"Recently?" I asked him I handed him another dish which he put in the dishwasher.
"Seems like yesterday," he said giving me a small smile.
"What was she like?"
Damon seemed to hesitate before answering and I could tell he really had cared about Katherine.
"She was beautiful, a lot like you in that department," I blushed," She was also very complicated…and selfish and at times not very kind, but very sexy and seductive."
"So which one of you dated her first?" I asked him holding out another plate for him to take.
He chuckled and said, "Nicely deduced ask Stefan. I'm sure his answer differs from mine."
He bent down and picked up the door to the dishwasher closing it. I gave him a smirk before walking over to the island and I started folding Table mats. He walked over to me and was real close for a second making my breath hitch.
"I'd quit cheerleading if I were you," he said taking a seat on one of the stools before helping me fold the mats.
"Why do you say that?" I asked him with a confused look.
"I saw you at practice. You looked miserable."
"You saw that?" I asked him looking down sheepishly.
"Am I wrong?" he sounded confident in fact. He stopped folding and looked up at me.
"I used to love it, it was fun, but things are different this year. Everything that used to matter doesn't anymore," I explained to him avoiding eye contact.
"So don't let it, quit, move on, problem solve. Ta da," Damon said which made me laugh.
"Some things could matter again," I told him.
"Maybe, but it seems a little unrealistic to me," he said which made me look into his eyes.
He looked down and started folding again and there was a moment of silence before I spoke up again.
"I'm sorry," I told him.
He gave me a confused look his eyebrows scrunched together. He looked cute. I mentally slapped myself. No Vicky! No! Damon equals NO!
"About Katherine," I continued, "You lost her too and I can tell by the way you talk about her. She meant a lot to you."
Damon looked taken aback and he stared at me like it was the first time he has ever seen me. And the look he gave me made butterfly s go wild in my stomach.
"Hey," I was broken out of my thoughts and out of Damon world to see Bonnie coming into the kitchen.
"Need some help?" she asked.
I sighed in relief and gave her a smile.
"Sure why not," Damon said giving her a smirk. Whatever part I saw of Damon before was gone and now was replaced with the Damon that first enter the house.
Stefan's POV:
"Matt try's, but he is just having a really hard time," Caroline spoke up after Bonnie left the room, "You have to try and understand that they were each other's first, you know? Like from the sand box."
I gave her a nod and a small smile. She raised the mug to her lips and took a sip out of it.
"That's a really nice scarf," I said pointing to the light purple scarf around her neck.
"Mm, thank you it's new," she said with a smile.
"Can I see it? I mean would you mind taking it off?" I asked her getting and scooting to other end of the couch closer to her.
"Oh I can't," she said with a small smile.
"Why not?" I quizzed her. If my guess was correct she was using the scarf to hide the bite marks that Damon gave her. He was using her as a blood bag, "You okay?"
She gave me a confused look and shook her head saying, "Um, all I know is that I….can't take it off."
"What are you two kids talking about?" Damon spoke up walking in the room.
"I was just commenting on her scarf," I said pointing to it again.
"Mm," he said to me before turning to Caroline saying, "Hey you know, uh, Victoria and Bonnie are finishing up the dishes, why don't you go see if you can help?"
"Does it look like I do dishes?" she asked him before laughing sending a look my way as if saying, 'Can you believe he even asked me that?'
"For me," Damon said looking at her with a fake smile.
"Mm, I don't think so," Caroline said giving him a smirk.
She looked back me for a split second before her eyes connected with Damon's and he started compelling her.
"Go see if Victoria needs help in the kitchen," he told her.
"You know what…I'm going to go see if Victoria needs some help in the kitchen," she repeated looking back and forth a me and Damon with a smile on her face.
Damon gave her a smile and said, "Great."
She grinned wider when she saw that she has pleased him. Damon chuckled as Caroline exited the room.
"They are people Damon. She's not a puppet. She doesn't exist for your amusement for you to feed on whenever you want to," I told him.
"Sure she does, they all do. They are whatever I want them to be; they are mine for the taking."
"Okay you have had your fun. You used Caroline. You got to meet Victoria and Elena, good for you. Now it's time for you to go."
"That's not a problem because-" he got up from the arm of the chair and sat on the cushion this time, "I have been invited in…I'll come back tomorrow night and the following night and I will do with your little cheerleaders sister whatever I want to do because that is what is normal to me."
He patted my shoulder and I glared at him, but I felt the fear consuming me of what Damon would do now that he was invited in. He could make Elena and Victoria just like Caroline was now. Unless I get them vervain. Then he can't get inside their minds.
Around 1: 45 Am
Victoria's POV:
I was sitting on bed with Tyler. Why I have no idea. HE sat there and I sat awkwardly in front of him.
"So this is awkward," I spoke up.
"Yeah," Tyler agreed he was staring at me the way he used to when we first started dating.
"Listen I didn't mean to cause a scene at the school it's just that you can be an ass most of time and I-"I started to rant, but he cut me off by putting his index finger against my lips. I felt my breath catch in my throat.
HE leaned in and I leaned in with him and we kissed like we never had before. HE threw my sketch book to the ground that had sat on my lap before laying us on the bed. He kept our lips attached and he took off his shirt, but as his head came out of the shirt I saw Damon.
"What the hell?" I muttered under my breath. He didn't say anything. He just smirked before webbed veins showed under his eyes and his eyes instantly became black. I saw two fangs protrude from his gums as he opened his mouth and launched his face at my neck. I felt a sharp pain and-
I woke up with a scream. I hadn't had nightmares since two months ago. I cupped a hand over my mouth and let out a shaky breath as my other hand reached up to see if I had bite marks there. TO my relief I found none.
"Thank god," I muttered. What kind of dream was that anyway? I slowly got out of bed and grabbed the empty glass off my dresser where I proceeded to head down stairs to get a drink. I came back up and crawled back into bed falling back into a dreamless sleep.
I came walking out of the shower and into my bedroom with a towel wrapped around my body and a towel wrapped around my head. I had my brush and make up bag in my hand. I paused when I saw my cheerleading outfit set out on my bed. Is this what I really want? To go back to the same-
There is no going back to the same. The same was when my parents were still alive. When I was dating Tyler- no dating Tyler was the worst mistake I could have ever made. That…that one day-he scared me forever. I shuddered. Italy was the best. I would give anything and nothing to go back. Elena and Jeremy. They went through so much while I was gone and it was because I chose the easy way out that-
"Tor let's go! The game is going to start soon!" Elena yelled through the door making me jump.
"I will be out in a minute!" I exclaimed. I glanced down at my uniform again. Time to throw in the towel.
I pulled on under wear, bra, denim short-shorts, a white sports bra and a black tank top. I slid on my Black Vans of the Wall and then I proceeded to do my hair and makeup. I blow dried my hair and then put on eyeliner and eye shadow, with a dash of mascara. It's time for a new page in the book.
I walked out my room and down the stairs where I saw Elena not wearing her uniform.
"You too?" I called down to her.
"IT will never be the same," she told me when I reached her.
"Exactly what I thought Twinie."
With that we walked out the door got in the car and drove towards the game, which was at home, aka the school. We disappeared amongst the people we were with Caroline and Bonnie when Stefan started walking towards us.
"Ooo you look hot in your jersey," Elena commented. I would comment on that but that would ruin her mood.
"What happened no more cheerleaders?" he asked us smirking.
"We quit," me and Elena said at the same time. I glared at her. She knows I hate that.
"I am a quitter," Elena continued ignoring my glare.
"Hey you're not a quitter, you suffered- you both have suffered a great loss, you guys aren't the same person you once were. You both should be looking ahead, starting over. Okay?" Stefan asked. Elena was grinning like a school girl, and even though she was in school and is a girl (or so we think) she is cliché.
"I hope you don't think this is too soon or weird, I-um-I wanted you to have this," Stefan pulled out a box and opened it to revel a beautiful necklace.
"Oh my god it's beautiful," Elena said as she pulled it out of the box.
"It's something I had forever and I hadn't wanted to give it to anyone, until now. I would very much like it if you would wear it for me. For good luck," Stefan told her. Wow this is awkward that I am just standing her like the third wheel.
"Is that rose that I smell?"
"No it's, uh, it's an herb," he said with a small smirk, "It's nice huh?"
"I love it," Elena said looking up from the necklace to him and giving him a grin.
She put in front of her turning around and he lifted up her hair to latch it on for her.
"And I want to thank you for pushing me, to uh, try out for the team," she started turning back around to look at him, "it feels really good."
She shrugged, "We're a pair. I quit, you start."
She giggled at the same time he became bashful saying, "Right."
"We are a work in progress. We'll figure it out," he assured her. Then they leaned in slowly and kissed. I coughed awkwardly loud and headed away from them only to be stopped by Caroline.
"And you're not in uniform because?"
I rolled my eyes. Wasn't it obvious?
"I quit," I told her calmly despite my anger towards her still from last night at dinner.
She went to say something more before Elena appeared and she asked her the same question. I made my escape towards Jeremy. I hung out with him and the druggies. It was getting later and later and finally they started burning the dummy that was the other team. People held signs that said kill the Lions. Jeremy was pouring alcohol for his friends.
Everyone was just cheering like crazy. Tanner even made his own boring speech I heard Stefan's name being cheered.
I saw Tyler walk out of the crowd and Vikki immediately intercepted his way. I saw him shake his head before saying something else and looking over here. Then I saw Tyler heading towards us and Vikki trying to stop him. I immediately stood trying to block Jeremy from his view, but Jeremy moved me out of the way.
"Don't look so down," Tyler told him, "You can have her when I am done."
Jeremy punched him, causing Tyler to stagger and without looking Tyler threw a punch and it missed Jeremy, but it hit me in the face. That did stop them though. Tyler went into full on football mode and tackled Jeremy into the back of the pick-up truck before lifting him up and slamming him onto the ground. I tried pulling Tyler off of Jeremy, but I couldn't do shit. Tyler was beating the hell out of Jeremy.
"Tyler stop!" Vikki and I were yelling at him. I tried tuggin him, but he was soon flipped over by Jeremy who started beating the shit out of him as well. Then Tyler flipped them back over and punched him again Jeremy letting out a groan.
"He is down! Enough!" Stefan raced over to them catching Tyler's wrist to keep him from punching again. Tyler got up off of Jeremy and turned to Stefan using his free hand to punch Stefan, but it was like he never even punched him. It had no effect on Stefan. How?
Tyler looked at him in complete astonishment. I saw Jeremy crawl towards the bottle and pick it up. HE then jumped to his feet and went to cut Tyler with it.
"Jeremy! NO!" I yelled at him. Stefan shoved Tyler out of the way and lifted his hand and Jeremy sliced Stefan's hand open. I was too distracted to see Elena wiz pass me and scold Jeremy seeing if he was alright. I walked up to Stefan and said, "You hand."
"No, no, it's fine," Stefan said hiding his hand. Elena was by my side and took Stefan's hand.
"Oh, my god, are you okay, how deep is it," she said trying to pry his hand open, "Come on."
HE opened his hand and all there was, was a blood stain of where once the glass had cut him.
"But I saw it-"I started, Stefan shook his head.
"He missed," he cut me off, "It's not my blood."
He whipped it off on his jeans, "See I'm fine."
He held his hand up to show her that he was in fact fine. I saw the glass cut his skin!
"No, I- I saw it! The glass hit your hand it was-"
"Hey, I'm okay. It's almost kick off time. I-um-So I'll see you after the game."
Elena only nodded, Stefan walked past us. With that Elena went off to talk to Bonnie and I went back to the car to go and get my jacket. I was freezing! I unlocked the car and opened up the trunk pulling out my jacket and closed it and when I turned around I gasped to find Damon Salvatore standing there in front of me.
I placed a hand over my chest and whispered, "You scared me. What are you doing here?"
He looked around as if someone was watching us before turning back to me and placing his index finger over his lips and whispered, "Sh, I'm hiding from Caroline."
I raised an eyebrow and whispered, "Why is that?"
He sighed and said, "I need a break, she talks more than I can listen."
I raised my eye brows and nodded, "well that can be a sign."
"Well she young so-"he started but I cut him off.
"Not much younger than you are," I said folding my arms already getting bored. HE could tell because he shifted slightly.
"I can't see it going anywhere in the bigger picture, I think he'd drive me crazy," he said with a smirk on his face. I couldn't help but getting a little angry. Even though Caroline could be a bitch at times she was still my friend…though Damon did have point Caroline had the tendency to be annoying…a lot.
"Even though Caroline has some really annoying traits, but we have been friends since the first grade and that means something to me," I growled at him.
"Dooley noted. I'm sorry if I make you uncomfortable. That's not my intention," he said, but the way he said it, I knew it was a lie.
"Yes it is, otherwise you wouldn't put an alternate meaning behind everything you say."
It was quite for a moment and Damon let out a chuckle and said, "Your right, I do have hidden intentions, but so do you."
"Really?"
"Mh Hm, I see them. You want me."
I scoffed and said, "Excuse me."
Some nerve this man has telling me such lies…
"I get to you, you're drawn to me. You think about me even when you don't want to think about me, I bet you even dreamed about me."
I was completely taken aback by his words. I was in shock how did he know I dreamt about him…I couldn't break my stare from his eyes.
"Right now," I felt my eyes glued to his feeling slightly trapped, "you want to kiss me."
I felt myself move closer to him and I saw him smile before he bent forward. Oh my god was he going to kiss me? Oh my god he was. I felt his lips touch mine and that's when I realized I was kissing him back. I pulled away quickly and slapped him across the face.
"What the hell!" I yelled at him.
"Listen I don't know what you are doing to Stefan and Elena, I should have listened to Stefan and stayed away from you, I was starting to feel bad for you, and your trying to play with Stefan and Elena, but let's get one thing straight. I. AM. NOT. KATHERINE," I growled at him before walking away.
I found Jeremy with a can held to his head and we just sat there. Then there was this whole commotion about Tanner getting bitten by the wild animal that had attacked Vicki in the woods. We didn't even bother to move though. My thoughts were still racing over what had happened with Damon in the parking lot. Did I really want to kiss him? I heard footsteps approaching and looked up to see it was Vikki Donovan. She bent down in front of Jeremy and pulled the can away from his head, "It wasn't just for the drugs."
With that said she walked away and I looked and saw Jeremy smiling. I got up and shuffled his hair before heading to the parking lot once more. I saw Elena and Stefan hugging and Elena looked up at me and gave me a small smile.
I thought there was hop, that somewhere deep inside, something in Damon was still human, but I was wrong. There is nothing human left in Damon, no good, no kindness, no love, only a monster. Who must be stopped.
Third Persons POV
As all of this was written in Stefan's diary, Damon, who was no good, who held no kindness, who could show no love, stood over Victoria Gilbert as she slept. And with a gentle hand he brushed some hair off her face his finger running along her face his thoughts saying 'she looks just like Katherine, had the fire and feistiness of Katherine, but they are completely different.'
Victoria began to stir and in a swift movement, Damon was gone out of the room.
Victoria's POV
I stirred awake when I had felt my face being touched, but when I woke up I found myself alone. My light was still on so I sat up slowly, reached over and turned off my light. I sunk back into my bed pulling my covers up to my neck and fell back asleep. I just prayed I wouldn't dream about Damon…again.
