The Ghost King's Reign

Chpt 3

Disclaimer: I wished I owned something especially Danny Phantom but I think I own my Ocs

The scene opens on a darkened room with a television as the only thing visible. With a click it turns on.

*Bzzztttt!* The picture on the screen flickers to life depicting a large man dressed in black, his eyes are erratic and he looks panicked. The set for his back drop is hastily thrown together. He is nervous. He is an older, stronger and much more mature Tucker Foley. He takes a deep breath to steady his nerves and begins to speak.

"If-if you can hear this, my name is Tucker Foley, a member of the resistance. It has been ten years since DP day, the day that my best friend Danny Phantom died. After- after he died, there were no ghost attacks for two years. While our world was peaceful the Ghost Zone -or the part that has undergone human exploration- was up-heaved after the power vacuum that was left not only by the former Ghost King Pariah Dark, but also the one left by Danny. With nothing to fill the voids, several powerful ghost stepped up to try and fill the void left by the two. This led to not only infighting between the ghosts trying to fill the voids, but also between all the ghosts in the Ghost Zone. The conflict that would come to be known as the GZ Civil War was eventually resolved by the construction of the Phantom brigade -a group of ghosts made up of not only former enemies of Danny's but also of his friends too- and the rise of the second great Ghost King. Meanwhile, humans went unaware due to a ghost of some sort preventing ghosts from leaving the Ghost Zone. For the next several months both worlds were at peace.

"That peace lasted until 'they' came. They were the ghosts who lived in the farthest corners of the Ghost Zone, corners so far and dark that only the most terrible could live. At-at first there were just a few, but slowly more began to come. The Phantom brigade held them at a stand still then the worst ever seen till date showed their faces.

"They immediately began to raze the Phantom brigade, destroying outposts and whole fortresses without even trying. Soon the Ghost King was forced to step in. He, himself, went to battle the invaders and for a time he drove them off. It was then that masters of those sent prior arrived. There were seven of them, each embodying a different sin, and created to punish those who were truly damned, together they eradicated the Ghost King and his entire army, eliminating all true chances of rebellion. Soon ghosts started to flee the Ghost Zone to escape the Sins. Though the Sins themselves could not leave the Ghost Zone, they could send out others to drag back those that escaped, and thus the fighting spilled over into our world. With the last of the Phantom brigade either fleeing the Ghost Zone or executed the Sins remade the Ghost Zone in their image. Instead of the thousands of worlds the Ghost Zone was made up of it now only contained the seven realms of the Deadly Sins.

"Look if you can see this and are in danger: DO NOT PANIC. I repeat: DO NOT PANIC. We the resistance will come to you, we are out here fighting so you do not have to. If you can any donations of food stuffs and clothing would be accepted. If you wish to join us, stop at the local HQ and fill out a form. We are always looking for more help. Thank you."

With that the signal cuts off and the lights flicker onto reveal a small waiting room in the temporary headquarters of the Resistance, containing a single couch with one person seated on it and another in a wheelchair next to it. These two were once feared by humans, but now they are slightly worn and broken. They were once enemies of Danny Phantom. They are Johnny 13 and the lovely Kitty. AN: If you want a picture of what they look like, picture what they look when Danny fought Dan Phantom in the future.

"Johnny, baby, how long do you think we have left before we get to talk to somebody and find out about Em?" Kitty asks looking to the crippled ghost.

"Kitty, I don't know. I am sure if something went wrong with her you or Penelope would have been notified," Johnny groans after being asked the same damn question for what seems like the hundredth time today.

"But Johnny-" Kitty begins to whine before the door to the room opens revealing a Penelope Spectra who has not seemed to change in all these years. She quickly approaches the couple and stands before them, preparing to speak.

"Kitty, I have news about Ember... but I am afraid it is not good news. Avarice has caught her and has sold her for a hefty sum to Superbia to compete in his games," Spectra says looking away from the now shocked visages of her long time friends.

"You mean she is to compete in the coliseum?" Johnny asks snapping out of his reprieve first. Kitty just lets out a choking sound at the news.

"Yes. We believe so. We are however trying to rescue her but all attempts so far have been useless. The good thing is she won't be harmed in any shape or form. You know how Superbia does not like to see his champions damaged."

"So we have a chance to save Em, Penelope? When are the games to happen?" Kitty asks hopefully, though already knowing the answer.

"Yes, but the window is slim and well the risk is high. Command is talking about scrapping any rescue attempts. I-I am tempted to agree with them," Spectra says looking away.

"Why?! Ember is our friend! How could you just agree with a-a-abandoning her?!" Kitty screams.

"Kitty-" Johnny begins.

"No, Johnny! This-this bitch," Spectra winces at that, "wants to abandon my best friend to the hands of those animals!I can't let Em go that way! Not after she was finally coming out of the hole that she forced herself into! Not after Phantom died!" Kitty cries, tears streaming down her face. Johnny tries to move to hug her but the restriction of not only his chair, but also the abrupt movement of Kitty getting up and walking away from them prevents it.

"Kitty, I know how you feel but you have to realize that sending men to go and do this will simply waste lives. And you know Ember would not want that. Hell, she would hate us for that. Especially after all the work she put into this," Johnny says rolling over to her. Once there he reaches up and takes her hand. "Ember wouldn't want you to be like this over her. She would in fact kick your ass for acting like this."

"I know it's just it has always been me and her against the world... I just don't know how I will go on without her," Kitty says. Spectra gets up and walks over to her, and sets her hand down on Kitty's free shoulder.

"Look Kitty I'm sorry," she says looking away from her, "I did not mean to say it in that way. I love Em too but... it's just too risky."

"I know," Kitty says.

"Hey at least we know our girl will give them hell!" Spectra says.

The Coliseum of Hubris

The Gladiator Pits

A figure is lead down a long hallway to the gladiator pits by a small contingent of guards. Once at the door to the large dungeon-esque (AN: No it's not a word, but I really think that is the only description to fit it.) the person is thrown roughly into the room landing on the floor. A person better known as Ember McClain. No longer sporting her hair in a ponytail, it now hangs down her back held in place by a black hairband. The ends of it flickering brightly signaling her fiery nature. Neither does she wear the single black tank top she once wore in her youth. It is now replaced by a v-cut black t-shirt with a hole cut in the front exposing a potion of her abdominal muscles and navel. Over top of that, she wears a black leather duster with the 'P' synonymous with the Phantom brigade on the back. Instantly, all eyes are on her as she slowly gets to her feet. With a glare, she snarls at all those staring at her, "What are you looking at?!" With the stares averted she quickly moves to the nearest unoccupied corner and sits down on one of the old worn benches.

Slowly her eyes start to shift over the competition. She easily makes out several real threats out of the ten others in the room, the main ones being the overly muscled barbarian wearing a loin cloth and bear pelt, the stereotypical kung-fu master in the corner, the desert raider with his face covered by his turban, a legionnaire, and the three in the corner opposite of her. Now out of all of them it was the three in the corner that seemed to disturb her the most. The most easily discernible of the three was a little old man hunched over a cane. It wasn't his gnarly and disheveled appearance that disturbed her but the air this little old man put off. Like he was a rattle snake of all things. Something made you not want to pay attention to this man let alone anger him. The next would be the one kneeling before the last. Normally with his long hooded cloak you would not pay him mind, but it was in his kneeling position that she noticed his foot peeking out of the cloak. A heavily armored foot at that. It would seem this man too would be trouble. The last of them seemed to be the strangest. After she took in all the information she could about the second, was that she noticed she caught his attention. The man was seated and neither his position or posture told much about him. Instead it is the fact that the two others postures seemed to differ to him. Like he was a lord of some sort. The second thing that points to that is the imposing regal air he had about him. Suddenly her eyes snap up to look into most powerful, glowing, green eyes she has ever seen. They all but paralyze her until she is knocked off her seat by a large bulky man who seems to be more muscle than brains. Ready to chew into the man, she is all but stopped by those paralyzing green eyes. Unknown to her as soon as she fell the man with those eyes all but flew across the room without her noticing it, and then proceeded to try and help her up. His hand was extended to her, it like the second man she mentioned was heavily armored, too, easily showing that he was here to win. She grabs hold of his hand and is hauled off the ground with ease. With her alright and on her feet, the man let's go of her hand and walks back to where he sat but not before whispering something in her ear.

"Don't die..."

She didn't intend to...

The Arena

"GRRREEEETTTTIIINNNGGSS HONORED GUESTS!" A voice erupts from the center of the large coliseum in the announcer's tower. The crowd erupts in cheers. "I, the voice with the most, am here to not only just announce the coverage on our great games tonight, but also to watch the action!" The crowd erupts once more. "Settle down! Settle down! Tonight! To-night! We are in for a very special treat!" The crowd quiets in suspense. "Not only are we graced tonight by all seven of our lords!" At this the seven Sins stand up in their box and wave to the crowd, exciting even louder cheers. "Our great and noble masters have saw fit to bring us a new player!" The crowd erupts even louder. "And they did not just bring us any nobody! No! They delivered a once in a lifetime contender! And when I say 'delivered' they really delivered! Do you wanna know who hey brought?" A pause for dramatic effect and to incite the crowd. "I said DO YOU WANNA KNOW WHO THEY BROOUUUGHT?!" The crowd is literally hopping up out of their seats, screaming. "Well they brought
c someone most of you are familiar with. In fact I am sure she has punched out your teeth once or twice. Please give a roaring welcome to former diva and leader of the Phantom brigade, Ember McClain!" (AN: Do I even need to say the crowd is cheering LOUDLY?) "Now because we have such a special guest at our humble abode, we decided that the only way to ensure she has a good time was by holding a series of tryouts. I am pleased to say thanks to those tryouts we have the most viscous, dangerous, and all around nastiest we could find! Guess what? It only gets better. Now you must be asking yourself how could we make this battle anymore enjoyable?" At that a large gate opens in the arena after which follows a large thump, followed by another, and another. The thuds continue and start to vaguely sound like large footsteps. The ground starts to shake as the sound gets closer to the arena. Out of the large gate steps the biggest being to have ever been seen. Out steps a giant nearly 20 feet high made of burning rock. The giant's name is a simple thing to remember but also a frightening thing at that. Its name is Typhon.

"Told you we could make it better. Now without further ado raise the gates and release the rest of our competitors!" The announcer finishes as the all the gates in the arena open releasing 40 or so other competitors, along with Ember and those in her cell.

Author's Note:

Hmm... So I intended to originally go into the fight in this chapter, but I decided not to because the wording for it was off putting. Strange reason I know. If I was vague with the explanations of certain things... all I can say is it was intentional. Either in the next chapter or the following, you will start the journey down the rabbit hole. Though to be honest I did not like the ending myself.

Next I should say this will officially be DXE pairing. Yes you heard A DXE pairing.

In the mean time please enjoy, review, and favorite.

At this time I would answer reviews but well most if not all of you just asked me to update, while praising me to the high heavens (I love having my ego stroked).

Addition

So it took me awhile ta get this out, unfortunately I had no internet for the past month or so. In other news I saw the Amazing Spiderman 2... I did not like it like I thought I would. I found out I am the only person who actually arm pumped at the death of Gwen Stacey. Not that I did not love her, I just spent most of the movie expecting it so I got a little excited when she did bite the big one. In other news I will be uploading the newest chapter very soon. Along with a project I originally scrappped.
