A small fox was sitting in front of a man with long silver hair, wondering which trial he had to endure, as if it wasn't enough to be brutally separated from his friend and owner of three years. 'I just hope that she's happy...' Inari watched the emotions that flickered on the tiny muzzle of the kit, clearly seeing the care that he held for the girl. He silently snickered, the kit was trapped on a tight leash willingly, while most foxes preferred the freedom, and this act alone spoke volumes for him, several foxes even turned selfish as they were gifted with their powers. 'Hn, so that is your little plot, huh? Kami-sama?' Red orbs bore on golden ones. A quiet battle of wits raged between them, yet the small one didn't back down, another crucial difference that weighted to his favor in the eyes of the fox god, as only less than ten foxes could look to him in the eyes. "Hmm, you pass." He almost laughed at the baffled expression, settling for a light chuckle. "You did things that most of my servants would frown upon, so I'll give you a second chance in happiness. But there is a catch. You have to make her fall in love with you, and she must be able to figure who you are. The girl that cared for you, Hyuuga Hinata. You will receive my blessings and the powers of a full fledged nine tails, live your new life to your fullest, Kurama." He touched his forehead, sending a wave of energy through his tiny body, making him grow and change shape, as his tail splitted in nine, his fur receded, turning his vulpine features in human ones, only leaving the tails and the top of his head untouched. "I'll leave my two kuda-kitsune with you so they can guide you." Two small snake-like foxes slithered around his wrists, one was a deep midnight blue while the other was a vibrant gold. "Tsubuyaki and Denrei, protect him." Both nodded, squealing their understanding. *Kyuunnn/Hyuunnn* Inari undid the top part of his kimono and draped it over his shoulders. "It's time for you to go. She needs you." Kurama got up, just to be pushed by the taller man, stumbling backwards in an endless descent until darkness enveloped his being.

As he fell voices came to him, echoing in the void.

You must not let her fall in love with another.

Control your new powers, as you will need them.

You have to help her within the near future.

Do not fear failure if you are truly destined to be together.

Go and save her!

It was a stormy night, as the lightning roared relentlessly, streaking through the skies. The ice cold water woke up the young man. He stared blankly at the pitch black clouds above him as old memories resurfaced. He rose slowly, not used to a human body and looked around, seeing that he was in the Hyuuga garden. In the mansion there was only one light on in the floor. He crawled there, curious about what could be happening. As he got closer, the voices in the house became clearer. "The amount you asked is absurd!" The male voice rang, one that he had associated with scolding, he looked by the window and saw a man talking on a strange thing. "Don't you care about your daughter?" That one was foreign to his ears, and seemed to be muffled. "Yeah, but be reasonable!" Something had to be going on, as he never heard the man scream. "Calm down Hyuuga Hiashi, you can't call the police or we'll kill her, and I assure you, it would be a waste to ruin such a beautiful face." Whoever was speaking had a mocking tone. "Get out from near her!" His ears were numb with his screams. "Now, now, you're not in conditions to make demands, and I'll do anything to her!" A dull noise came from the phone. *kick* "Gaahhh!" The pained voice snapped the string that held his reason, so he darted from his spot, intent in finding the most precious person to him, Hinata. The kuda-kitsune were useful in finding the location where she was being held, relaying the needed info to him.

Hinata tried her best to not grunt in discomfort and alert her captors, ignoring the ropes that were scraping her wrists and surely marking them. These cronies had dragged her to an alley, drugging her with a cloth with a sleeping agent when she returned home later than the usual, as she had gotten lost in the school building. 'Damn! Why the gods want me to suffer?' She prayed for help, for anyone to come and take her to safety as a tear rolled off her eye.

Kurama was stalking to the hangar, wary of the security men that were scouting the area. The kuda said that was kidnapped, and although he couldn't fully understand the meaning, he knew that it was a bad thing. He sniffed the air, taking on a sweet scent, mixed with blood. 'Did they hurt her?!' His eyes reddened and his body changed, turning fox-like, his claws grew and his legs and face changed, turning him in a humanoid beast. He had entered in a state of rage and bloodlust, tearing apart the men that tried to halt or shoot him, never stopping to spare a second glance to them. Every obstacle he met, he obliterated it, until he met the head of the operation, sitting in front of a door and talking on a cell. He was a man on his twenties, negotiating the ransom. He noticed the lack of sound coming from the men he hired then looked up, getting trapped in the binding gaze of the demon in front of him, the extremely sharp teeth bared at him, with red drool dripping from the tips of the fangs. "Rrrr..." "Awawawa! Get away from me you demon!" He shot and hit the mark, but the creature didn't even flinch. He shot again and again, but the bullets proved to be ineffective. Kurama got tired of playing with his prey, swiftly crushing his head against a wall, stepping over the cellphone in the process. *crish* The sting of the fragments poking his paw were ignored while he searched for the girl. The snakey foxes pointed to a door.

Hinata heard a ruckus going on outside and the sound of six rounds of bullets being shot with loud curses. 'What's going on?!' Then something slammed against the door, almost blowing it off its hinges. The thing repeated its action, successfully bringing the door down, revealing a guy that she didn't know that was wearing a loose shirt. The fact that he had golden eyes and blood red hair were the only things she could see in the barely lit room before she fainted.

Kurama was relieved when he saw her unhurt, but panicked when she fell limp, but the kitsune assured him that she was alright, just sleeping. He cut the ropes that bound her, frowning at the bruises, so he licked them with care, his saliva healing the hurt skin. The blue kitsune tugged on his hair, urging him to get out from this place before someone came. He got to the outside in seconds, not wanting to leave her in such a place. He leaped through the forest and city, arriving unnoticed in the Hyuuga manor, perching himself on the windowsill of where he knew that was Hinata's bedroom. Tsubuyaki got in from another place and opened the locked window, letting him enter and lay her on her bed, pulling the covers over her body. Kurama got ready to depart, but the bluish kuda-kitsune squeaked its request. "Do you want to stay with her Tsubuyaki?" It nodded eagerly. *Kyii!* He petted the head of the tiny being. "Okay then, take care of her in my place." It had a small grin, showing minuscule teeth. *Kuyuu! Kuu!* He left before anyone could see him, to an unknown place.

Tsubuyaki relished in the trust it received from the new master, nestling itself near the face of Hinata on the pillow.

Kuda-kitsune=pipe fox; Tsubuyaki=whisper; Denrei=herald.

Thank you for resparking my inspiration for this story Elizabeth! Oh, by the way, Hinata met Kurama when she was ten, kept him for two or three years until the incident, then more three years since his death. If you were to pick a character from Reboot to act like Yuuko/Genkai, which one would be? Can you suggest a goal for them? As I'm a bit unsure.
