Hinata looked around, noting that she seemed to be in the same place where she last visited with Kurama when he was alive, a pang of grief tugged her heart at the thought. 'Why am I here?' *Kyuuun~!* She recognized that howl, it came from her fox, so she followed the sound until she reached a cherry tree, seeing little Kurama crouched in front of it. "Come here boy!" He got up but instead of leaping at her like he always did in the past, he went around the tree, disappearing behind it. "So I lost him again." A man's voice spoke up at her back. "No, you didn't, little girl. He just did a choice." She turned around to see who had spoken, but saw no one save for a flash of silver, then she heard the sound of a twig snapping. "Uh... Hello?" She looked at the speaker, meeting the golden eyes of a redhead boy. Then everything went blank, leaving her to wonder what was real. "Is this a dream?"
Hiashi was nervous, in the middle of the negotiation the man began screaming and he heard shots and curses directed to someone, to worsen things the phone gave it the sound of something being crushed, then just static. It made him worry for his daughter.
Hinata felt something tickle her nose but ignored it, then it tickled again, so she swatted whatever was bothering her, but heard a low squeak. *Kyk!* Her eyes snapped open, seeing a weird creature that seemed to be a furry snake with two tiny paws. *Yuunnn...* It stared at her with a pout, Hinata stared back, blinking twice. "... KYAAHHH!" The surprise was so great that she couldn't help but scream and jump back in fright, thus ending on the ground. Tsubuyaki wasn't better, fox ears can only take so much before hurting, so it gripped its small head to try to block her scream.
Hiashi heard a shriek and a 'thud' upstairs, where he knew that was the room of his eldest daughter. He yanked the door open, expecting a burglar, just to see Hinata pressing her back against the wall and looking at an empty bed. "What is that thing otou-san?" He frowned, there was nobody in the room but her. "How did you get away from those kidnappers? And these bloodied clothes?" Hinata got wide eyed, looking at her state of dress, seeing the smears of blood shaped like hands. "So that wasn't a nightmare?" Hiashi frowned, she clearly seemed to be in shock due the kidnapping, and for the fact that they did it with such ease worried him. "I am glad that you could come back, even if you did not use a regular method. But you must change your clothes, and I have an issue to deal with. When you are ready, meet me in my office." He closed the door, giving privacy to her.
The blue kuda-kitsune was glad that the torture had finished, but when the stranger got out, the girl fell silent and a heavy mood settled on. "So, what are you?" Tsubuyaki began fidgeting, as she couldn't understand fox talk. *Uuu...* Hinata noticed this fact and groaned. "Can you write?" She watched as the fox-snake nodded. *Kyu, yu!* She picked up a notepad and pencil, leaving them in front of the animal. "Can you write your name first?" The being wrote the reply in Mach speed then took the paper and raised it. (Tsubuyaki) Hinata thought that it was a cute name. "What are you?" (Kuda-kitsune or pipe fox if you prefer) Hinata wondered why it was with her and its gender. "Are you male or female?" Its fur spiked and ended breaking the tip of the pencil. (Definitely a female!) She sweatdropped at her reaction and sharpened the broken lead. "I hope there is a way for me to understand you, you can't stay writing what you want to say forever." Her ears perked up. (There is a way, but) Hinata saw that she was dragging the pencil, not finishing writing. "But...?" She prodded the kitsune to continue. (I have to bite you) Tsubuyaki tapped the pencil in nervousness. "Are you sure?" The reply was instantaneous. (Absolute) "Does it have to be in a specific place or not?" She shook her head. (Nope) Hinata rolled up the sleeves of her jacket. "Is that so? Then bite here." The fox bit her left wrist, making a mark shaped like her body appear wrapped around it, then she went up her arm to settle on her shoulder. "Can you hear me?" Hinata jumped a bit when she heard the acute voice, but smiled as she had a new friend. "Yes, let's go take a bath?" Tsubuyaki jumped happily.
In the previous day, Kurama had ran to a shrine appointed by Denrei, as he had claimed that the person living there could help him. He got there quickly, seeing that there was someone in the yard. He landed in front of the person, gazing on blood red irises. "Are you the master of the shrine?"
Hinata examined every feature of Tsubuyaki, noticing that she had the same color as her hair but the tip of the tail, muzzle and paws were a deep purple, there was a small patch of milky white fur on her chest and she had lilac eyes, much like herself, almost as if she was her foxy version. She giggled at the thought. "Can you wash me? I can't reach my back." Tsubuyaki was holding up the bottle of shampoo, making puppy eyes. "No problem." The fox purred as she rubbed her coat. "But why my father didn't see you?" She rinsed the fox. "Well, I'm a spirit." She shook the water off like a dog. "But I can see you." The girl got out from the bathtub. "Dunno why." Hinata finished the bath and helped Tsubuyaki to dry herself, but after she toweled her the fur puffed up, making her look like a plushie, earning a laugh from Hinata and a glare from Tsubuyaki. Then she dressed up and went to meet with her father.
The mysterious person smirked. "And if I am?" Kurama stared at the woman in front of him. "Yuuhi-san, can you provide me shelter?" (who thought that was an Uchiha post a review!) The raven-haired woman watched his posture for any signs of deceit. "So that's why Inari sent me all those bottles of shōchū and vodka." *Hyooo!* Denrei leaped from the sleeve of Kurama's shirt in the direction of Kurenai. "So you were with him Denrei. Do you want to have a drink?" *Yoh!* With that said Kurenai went to fetch the alcohol, leaving Kurama behind. "Bunch of drunkards." A clog hit his head. "Come in!" He grumbled and entered the house. But when did so, a towel hit him square on the face and she kicked him inside a room. "You're stinking like blood, go take a bath." After he got out from the bathroom, Kurenai hounded him. "Here, wear this." Kurenai handed him a box. Inside was a gray button-up shirt with a pair of jeans and sneakers. She propped down on a couch. "Inari already sent a letter explaining the situation, so you don't need to explain yourself. But we need to come up with a name for you. Any ideas Denrei?" He squealed a suggestion. *Hyii, hyohyo!* She got a thoughtful expression. "Mmm... Shuichi? Not bad. It's settled, you're going to be Shuichi Yuuhi starting now, and you're my little brother~!" Then she picked up a pair of scissors, making Kurama back out in fear as she had an evil glint on her eyes. "I always wanted to play hairdresser. Will you be my guinea pig?" He tried to run, but the traitorous kuda tripped him and bounded his legs. "Nononononono-" He was shaking his head and crawling away from her, but met a wall instead.
Hiashi waited until her daughter entered the office. "What do you want to discuss otou-san?" She was curious at what he wanted. "Sit down Hinata." He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Haah... After this last kidnapping, I can't help but to be worried about your safety, so I decided to hire a bodyguard for you." Before she could answer a knock sounded outside. "Erm, Hiashi-sama, there is a woman outside that wants to talk with you, and she said that it interests you." He rubbed his temples. "Send her in."
Made a little editing, instead of Shugoshin, he will be called Shuichi in reference to YuYu Hakusho.
