"Oi Rosie, hurry up. I wanna get to the guild before the day is over," Gray says.

"I do not take that long Gray Fullbuster" I growl. I'm checking my room one last time for anything that might have moved overnight. Once I make completely sure that yes, the bed is inside its markings on the floor, I close the door gently.

"Let's go, then," he sighs, running a hand through his hair, turning to the door. My chest goes cold and tight. He's frustrated. That's my fault. I keep quiet the whole walk there and walk behind him, afraid to speak in case I upset him further.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I think it like a mantra, as if he can hear me. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for a lot of things. Mostly for not being a good person. Because of that I don't tell anyone anything, not even Gray.

"Why are you walking all the way back there?" I lift my head up from bowing my head. "I'm not your mother duck, am I?"

I laugh and walk up to him. Sometimes, he makes me feel worthy. So do the others. I feel like I fit in for once, and it feels great. Before this, I was never good enough. I couldn't even save our little brother from dying. Living with that is the worst, but I forget when I'm with them.

We arrive at the guild and immediately sense something. I feel it in the air; Natsu is coming back today.

"He's coming back," I tell my brother.

"God fucking damn it I knew it," he huffs. I have to laugh. Their rivalry is one of the most amusing I've ever encountered. It gets tiring sometimes, and maybe embarrassing. I have to tell newcomers that yes, one of those idiots is my brother, and yes, the other idiot is my closest male friend. I look at my hands.

"I wonder if he did well," I ask to no one.

"Well it's Natsu, so he probably finished it and destroyed the city," Mirajane answers. All who heard laughs. Natsu is a one-of-a-kind person/dragon with an affinity for exterminating enemies and their entire surroundings.

I head over to the job-listing board to see if a decent job has made an appearance.

"WE'RE HOOOOOMMMMEEEEE~!"

"FUCK" I yell, startled. I laugh.

"Hey, Natsu, we heard you overdid it again in Hargion! What'd you do, demolish the entire to-" the man was cut off by a foot to the face.

"YOU GAVE ME FAKE INFORMATION YOU BASTARD!" Natsu shouts. I sigh. The fighting starts, and there's no stopping it. Give it some time and the entire guild will be destroyed again. I look at my hands. Shadow Soul is dominant and I smirk.

I sit off to the side, watching the melee. Off go Gray's pants. More like taken by the damned Salamander, and he accidentally waves his junk in some poor girl's face. I wrinkle my nose. I like to think we have class sometimes. But then I remember that it hasn't been classy in years. Since even before I came here. I lean back and allow Shadow Sparks to erupt from my fingertips to get used to Shadow Magic again.

Who is that girl? She's blonde and busty. Bustier than me, for sure. She's cute. Really cute. I sigh. Gray got the good genes between the two of us, though I hate to admit it. His blue eyes are dark and mysterious against his black hair, a chiseled jawline, a deadly smirk. He attracts women, and some men from miles away. It's kind of annoying, especially when someone tell the person where we live. And always the question directed at me: "Who are you? Gray, who is that girl?"

The fighting almost immediately stops when Master Makarov arrives in some demon form he managed to create for himself. Natsu gloats, thinking that everyone has stopped in fear of the mighty he. Blondie stands there, gawking at the massive figure. I feel that she has never seen the old man before.

He floops back to his tiny form and onto a rafter.

"You've done it again, you idiots! Look at these letters I got from the Council!" he shouts. An uneasy silence falls over everyone. It was undoubtedly another angry mayor whose town got destroyed. Maybe Natsu destroyed Harujion and that girl is the lone survivor. Any guess at this stage in the game is fair.

"First off, good job on getting rid of the smuggling organization," Makarov begins. Oh no. Shit. He's talking about the mission Gray took the other day. He came back in shorts that I didn't recognize, and I'll be the first to say that I have to do all the laundry in our house.

"...but you walked around the city naked and ran away when you stole underwear that wasn't yours," the old man finishes.

"It would be worse if I was naked, wouldn't it?" Gray mumbles.

"Then don't get naked in the first place, idiot," Elfman mumbles back. Makarov hears him.

"And you, Elfman, were supposed to escort a very important person, but you assaulted him!"

"He said 'A man's most important asset is education', so I just kind of..." Elfman trails off.

"Cana drank more than 10 barrels of alcohol and charged it to the Council."

"Damn, they found out about that?"

"Loke flirted with a Council member's granddaughter and we have to pay for damage to a talent agency." Loke just looks away.

"Rose melted half of an apartment building."

"Tch," I look away. Only because the thief was hiding in it somewhere. I caught him, didn't I?

"And Natsu...Well, the most recent things he's done, not to mention the rest, is destroy half of Harujion's port." He also looks away.

"Everyone, the Council is always mad at me." The silence got even more tense. The old man is now shaking. With pent-up anger, I guess, but you can never tell with him.

"But!" Ah yes, I knew it. Here it comes.

"Forget about the Council members! Listen up! The power to overcome reasoning is born from reasoning! Magic is not a miracle. When the "spirit" flows within us, and the "spirit" flows in nature connects, they will form an embodiment for the first time. You will need a strong mentality and a lot of concentration for that. I mean, pouring all of your soul into whatever you do is the magic. If you keep worrying about the eyes of the higher-ups, your magic won't improve. Do not fear the fools who are the Council. Do whatever you think is right! That is the way of Fairy Tailmages!" Makarov roars.

The cheering following that speech is deafening. This is when I like being a part of this guild; when we can say screw it; we do whatever it takes! I smile and cross my arms. Fairy Tail is something else.

The new girl, whose name I learn is Lucy, gets her Fairy Tail mark on her right hand in pink. I melt into the shadows so I don't have to talk to her unless someone pulls me into a conversation, which is unlikely.

And I literally mean melt into the shadows.

Natsu scarfs down his meal and calls Blondie "Luigi", which offends her. She is short-tempered. The other men drool over her. Natsu wants to go out on another mission. He picks the one I was eying earlier, but freezes when little Romeo asks where his father is. Macao had apparently gone on a mission a few days ago and hadn't returned. He begs for someone to search for his father, and I know right away that Natsu will do it, reward or no, permission or no. He's had daddy issues for years and won't deny someone the opportunity to have their father in their life if he can help it.

And he goes. The old man won't let anyone stop him, even if it will hurt Macao's pride. Blondie is confused. Mira explains how Igneel left Natsu when he was younger, how he probably saw himself in Romeo. The blonde is shocked that Igneel is a dragon; even fall out of her chair.

No one knows who Natsu's real parents are, only Igneel. He learned how to speak, read, write, general culture, and Fire Dragon Slaying Magic. But he disappeared one day. Mira tells this to Blondie.

"We're all carrying something from our pasts...pain...suffering...everyday it pains us...even me..." Mira trails off.

"Eh?"

"No...it's nothing." Lucy just looks at her. I know about Mira's pain. I know almost everyone's baggage here. Just like they know the exterior of mine, same as Gray's. They don't know about other things, though, like my own childhood. No...I don't think anyone knows about that.

Blondie runs off to help the Salamander.

Mira runs into the backroom to collect herself. I materialize onto a chair at a table and wait for the day to be over. I lay my head down and sleep. I hope Natsu will be okay. Yeah, he'll be fine. He always is. I yawn, and drift into oblivion.

A.N. Happy new year everyone! Had a smallish block on this one, but it's longer, and we're actually getting on with the story.

No but has anyone seen Frozen? I wanna see it so badly, it looks so good. I've been listening to the soundtrack over and over again; the music's fantastic.

Aaand anyway it's almost midnight here, so favorite, follow, or review? That'd be great, and I'll see you later! Stay classy~
