Daemon's POV
I was sitting at the kitchen table waiting for Dee to get out of work, while eating spoonfuls of delicious ice cream. Why does Dee like going to work? I don't see the point in going to work; it is just a waste of time. After 10 minutes and an almost finished carton of ice cream I hear the front door open.
"I'm home" she calls out.
"IN THE KITCHEN!" I yell.
Then I see her walk in through the door way. Dee was always a great, caring, and awesome sister. She was there to comfort me after the move. I pretend to be fine around her but I'm pretty sure she knows I'm not. I saw that she had her school bag again. She brings it from work everyday to write up the next assignments for her young students. She says the kids adore and I'm pretty sure they do. I've never been to the school where she teaches and don't plan to visit anytime soon. Children and I don't really mix. It is not that I don't like them, they just happen to be annoying most of the time.
"Hey give me some ice cream you pig. I always buy a new one and I come home just to find it empty. BUT NOT THIS TIME YOU HEAR ME!" she yelled at me grabbing the ice cream carton right out of my hands, eating the last of it.
"So…" I started to say. "How was your day at work?"
"Oh it was awesome except for that little bugger again who tries to eat anything he can find. Doesn't he know not to eat that stuff; it is dangerous especially for him since he is a child. Then there was that little girl who was taking everyone's crayons. Oh and don't get me started on this kid-…"
I cut her off. "Hey I thought you said it was great?"
"Oh it was a great day. I also got a new student a few days ago. She is so sweet and cute. You should meet her Daemon, she is so adorable," she said gushingly.
I could also see something else behind those bright green eyes something she wasn't telling me, but brushed off.
"I also thought why not make a get together with the students families like a picnic. We can play games, have a barbeque, arts and crafts. Wouldn't that be awesome Daemon?!" "Yea sure" I said not really all that thrilled like Dee was.
"Well it is settled then I will organize a picnic and you're going to attend it."
With that she gets up and heads towards her room. Fuck no. I ran after her.
"Dee I'm not going to go to the picnic."
"And why not?!"
"Because family picnics or not my thing."
"Well they are going to be your thing and you will like it. Besides you don't want your sister to go all alone do you?" she asks sweetly.
Even though I hate her for this, she is my sister and I would do anything her.
"Alright Dee I'll go, but this will be a one time thing okay?"
"We will see about that."
Then she walks in to her bedroom closing the door after. I head towards my room locking the door behind me. I lay on my bed, closing my eyes softly. Then I open my drawer and take out the picture of me holding her in my arms. I remember Dee took that picture of me and Katy. Whenever I'm alone my mind always wonders back to her. Katy I miss you so much. I need you here. I love you.

Dee's POV
After leaving Daemon to do his things I started to put my plan into action. Operation get Daemon and Katy together. First I had to make an invitation for the picnic to send to Ms. Johnson so she can send it to all the parents of my students.
I decided I would call Ms. Johnson later to make sure Katy got it. I also need to call Ash, Andrew, Adam and Matthew to see if they could help with the set up this weekend.
Now all I have to do is wait, and grade the student's papers. UUGGHH! This can take a while because of their horrible writing. But they are first graders so I can't really complain.
One paper had amazing adult writing, it was Aaliyah's. She still misspelled a few words but still, WOW. After grading almost half of the papers my phone beeped. It was an email from Ms. Johnson saying that she got confirmation from all the parents that they got the invitation.
A lot of them weren't going because of the short notice but it said the Swartz family was going. That was the only family that mattered. I gave a loud "WHOOP!" Then I heard Daemon yell, "ARE YOU OKAY!" "YEA I'M FINE" I was totally fine and excited.
Katy's POV
"MOMMY!" I heard Aaliyah yell. She came running into my room as I closed my book to see what was wrong. She held out her little alien plush doll that I gave her. "What's wrong sweetie?" She held out her toy again closer to my face. I saw that she had one of the arms in her hand and I saw that she was crying.
"Don't cry. Look I can fix it," I said taking the toy from her.
"You can?" She sniffled
"Of course" I smiled at her putting her on my bed while taking out the sewing kit from my closet. She stopped crying but I could hear her sniffling.
"Come here Aaliyah so you can see."
She crawled over to me on the bed and sat on my lap. Sometimes I forget that she's still a little girl because most of the time she is the one to comfort me. Without her I think I couldn't have made it. She brings me happiness.
I started sewing the toy back together saying each step so she can understand what is happening. When I was done I gave her back her little alien doll. I remember the day I gave it to her. A lot of people might wonder why I would give a child an alien plush doll, but it was one that Daemon gave me. I was reading a book in my room like always while Aaliyah started looking through the boxes. I heard her ask, "What's this mommy?" I saw her pull out the alien push doll that Daemon for our anniversary.
"That's a gift your father gave me when we were still together"
She started staring at it getting her daydreaming look on her face. I knew she wanted a dad. I would give her almost anything she wanted but that was the one thing I couldn't give her. So I asked her "Would you like to have it Aaliyah?"
She looked up with a hopeful look on her face "Can I mommy?"
"Of course sweetheart"
She kept looking at the toy and after what seemed like a long time she looked at me and said "Thank you mommy"
After that day she would never let go of that toy. She was only three then.
When I gave her back the doll after fixing it I told her "See. Good as new."
"Can I read with you mommy?"
"Yea"
When we both lied on my bed my phone rang. I picked it up and saw it was an email from Aaliyah's school.
"It's from your school"
"What does it say mommy?"
Greetings Parents
You and your child are invited to attend a random picnic celebrating all the students in classroom 25! If you would like to attend please send back a confirmation email. I look forward to seeing all of you this Saturday at 5pm on the school playground.
Sincerely the first grade teacher
"OOHH mommy can we go? Please mommy please."
"Yea sweetheart that sounds like fun"
"Yay! I can't wait for you to meet my teacher she's so nice and pretty but not as pretty as you."
"Aw now you're just sweet talking me sweetheart."
"But it's true mommy"
"Well its past your bedtime and you have school tomorrow. So get to bed"
"Can I stay with you mommy?" she asked shyly.
"Why don't you want to sleep in your room?"
"I miss you"
"Okay you can stay with me but just tonight."
"Okay"
After turning off the light and putting my arms around Aaliyah I heard her say
"I love you mommy"
"I love you too. Goodnight"
After a while I heard her soft little snores and when I started to drift off into sleep I starting thinking about those bright green eyes.
