A/N: Oh my goodness! I'm soooo sorry! I haven't updated this story in FOREVER! Please forgive me! I shall make a lot more of an effort in updating more often. :) I know this chapter is kind of brief because I'm doing some transitioning and stuff before it gets interesting again. But I PROMISE the next chapter will be a lot longer! And don't worry, we shall be seeing Darien again soon enough ;) Hope you enjoy! ^_^

"Luna, why don't you pick out a few toys to bring to Sesshomaru's house?" Jessica coaxed her daughter to the small toy box across the room from where Luna was taking a pink top from inside her dresser drawer.

"I can bring toys?" Her blue eyes lit up in delight, the shirt forgotten, before Jessica had to take a step back to be out of the way from the quick lunge the five-year-old made for the little white box.

Jessica smiled running her right hand through her daughter's long blonde hair as she peered over her shoulder into the box. Barbies and small dolls lay neatly inside, but Luna dug past them with a determined look plastered on her face to find a particular object. She let out a small cry of joy at having found the toy; a beanie animal that resembled a husky came popping out beneath the dolls.

"I want this one!"

"Nanook?"

Luna hugged the dog that was about the size of her small torso to her chest, "Yes! Nanook keeps the monsters away." She explained a solemn expression crossing her features briefly.

Her mother couldn't help the small smile that crossed her face as she watched the little girl examine the gift from Sesshomaru for any fuzzes that liked to attach to the soft fur. The two were suddenly interrupted by a small knock on the door frame. Jessica turned her green eyes to the door, Luna following suit, to stare at Sesshomaru.

"Just about done in here?" He wore a dark grey suit and red tie and was carrying Jessica's blue suitcase in his hand.

"Almost." Jessica replied watching as Luna bounced up from where she had been sitting, Nanook still in hand, to give the silver haired man a hug around his legs.

"I have to pack Nanook and then Mommy is gonna help me find more toys to bring." She explained excitedly looking up at him with bright blue eyes.

Sesshomaru bent down, placing the suitcase at his feet, until he was at eye level with the young girl. He gave her a smile, stroking her soft cheek gently with the back of his hand, "Well, we better see what else we can bring. It wouldn't do to have only Nanook to keep you company, would it?"

Luna shook her head giving him a wide smile at his affection before she turned on her heel to run back to her mother, "Mommy, what else should I bring?"

"Well, let's see." Jessica turned to the toy box as Sesshomaru stood back up and walked over to Luna's small bed. A smaller pink suitcase laid open on the light blue comforter decorated with yellow crescent moons. The suitcase was filled with Luna's clothes he wondered how the two females would manage to fit "toys" in there as well.

His golden eyes shifted back to the two girls who were peering into the box of toys. Luna wore a bright blue dress that extended down to her knees and puffed out a little bit towards the bottom. She wore white dress shoes with buckles over the top and white tights. Jessica had just came home from work and wore a white button-up blouse, a beige pencil skirt, and nude colored heels. Her long blonde hair hung over her shoulder as she began to grab a few items.

"How about you pick out two or three of your favorite Barbies and we will pack a a bag of their clothes?" She pulled out a small purple bag and held it out to Luna who nodded in agreement.

In a matter of seconds the young girl had picked out three Barbies; a blonde, brunette, and red head, placing them on top of her clothes along with the stuffed dog. Behind her, Jessica brought over the small purple bag and placed it next to Luna's other toys in the pink suitcase. She quickly closed the top, pressing down on the lid in order to zip it up before taking it off the bed to carry.

"I think that is everything." Her green eyes surveyed the room one last time before meeting Sesshomaru's gaze.

"We can always come back if we need anything else." He assured her picking up the suitcase he had set down and led the way out of the bedroom and down the stairs.

The trio had made their way down as they normally would have, but Sesshomaru halted at the foot of the stairs so suddenly that Luna bumped into his back and Jessica had to peer over his head to look into the kitchen where Inuyasha stood behind the breakfast bar facing them. Kagome sat in the bar stool in front of him, sharing a glass of chocolate milk.

"Hey! Was wondering what you guys were doing up there." The half demon straightened up looking the three over, "Are you going on a trip or something?"

"Uncle Yasha!" Luna peered around Sesshomaru beaming a bright smile at Inuyasha before rushing over to him, jumping in his arms, "We are going to Sesshomaru's house! Mommy said we are gonna stay there for a few days."

"Is that so?" Inuyasha's golden orbs glanced over at the couple.

"It's only temporary." Jessica joined them at the bottom of the stairs setting Luna's suitcase aside, "How did you guys get in here anyway?'

"Sorry, we should have called." Kagome turned smiling to her friend sheepishly, "I still have a spare, remember?"

"What do you want?" Sesshomaru's feet seemed rooted to the bottom step as he made no attempt to move.

Kagome bit her lip nervously, "I just wanted to check in." Her chocolate brown eyes met Jessica's green ones unsure if the blonde had confessed the details of what had transpired the other day to her husband's brother, "I know you are nervous about him finding you."

Jessica smiled warmly at her friend, "Thanks for worrying, Kagome. Actually, that's why we are going to stay with Sesshomaru. We figured it would be safer this way."

Inuyasha snorted still holding the curious looking blonde child in his arms, "I always thought you to be cautious," He added with sarcasm, "I'm glad to find out you haven't changed."

"Thanks." She gave Inuyasha a look before turning to Kagome again, "So, we need to discuss our next get together."

Kagome's face brightened, "Yes, yes we do!"

"Next get together?" Sesshomaru eyed the women warily.

Jessica ignored him, "Why don't you call me tomorrow while our topic of interest is at work?"

"Who is the 'topic of interest', Mommy?" Luna cocked her head to the side holding Inuyasha around his neck.

"I'll tell you tonight, Luna."

"I have a feeling I already know what this is about." Inuyasha groaned before setting down the child unclasping her hands from around his neck.

"Is this about you, little brother?" Sesshomaru's gold eyes narrowed.

Inuyasha glared daggers at his brother, "We should probably get going, Kagome. I can tell fluffy over here is ready to leave."

Jessica glanced over at the silver haired man briefly catching a slight eye twitch from him at the nickname that he hated so much. Luna giggled at the men's "play" fight, but danced over to Sesshomaru's side.

"Okay." Kagome let out a heavy sigh before giving Jessica a hug, "Call me when you get there." She smiled and bent down to hug Luna goodbye.

"See you guys later." Inuyasha waved guiding Kagome to the door and leaving.

"What was that about?" Sesshomaru asked picking up Luna's suitcase moving towards the door.

Jessica reached the empty cup Kagome and Inuyasha had been using, rinsing it out, before setting it in the sink, "Inuyasha's birthday is coming up."

The silver haired male froze briefly, glancing at the blonde female who had her back to him by the sink, "You plan to throw the half-breed a birthday party, I assume." Luna looked up from examining a speck on the floor, a worried look plastered on her face at her father figure's sudden change in attitude.

Jessica couldn't remember Sesshomaru referring to his half brother so coldly as calling him what he was. Were they fighting? She bit her lip before turning to him, "I do. Well, I would like to. The past five years I haven't been there and I feel kind of bad about it."

"Hm." He replied before turning away and heading for the door again, Luna at his heels to follow, "I don't find there to be anything to celebrate."

The little girl stopped mid-step at his words as he left the apartment, the front door slamming behind him. Her blue eyes turned to her mother, eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Mama, why did Sesshomaru say that?"

However, her mother had no answer because she had no clue as to why Inuyasha's birthday would have set off her current boyfriend. He was his brother for crying out loud! His sudden mood swing was making her feel uneasy too, especially since they were leaving to live with him. Maybe it is too soon. She thought glancing down at her daughter who blinked expectantly up at her. No, the brothers must have gotten into some sort of argument. She assured herself. Surely, when Sesshomaru was ready, he would tell her what had happened.

Her little ray of hope gave her a sudden determination and she smiled at her daughter before grabbing the suitcase that still sat by the stairs before taking Luna's hand and heading for the door, "I'm sure he didn't really mean it, Luna. Uncle Yasha and Sesshomaru are probably bickering."
