Blackwing's P.O.V.

I landed and quickly said the password and slipped into the secret entrance to H.I.V.E Academy. I made my way to Slade and my rooms dropping my jetpack in my room and knocking on the door to Slade's room.

"Come in," I heard him call and I heard his laptop snap shut as I stepped in the room.

"A successful mission I assume?" he asked turning to face me as I sat on my knees not looking him in the face.

"Yes I found out much about the Titans, and on my way back I ran into Starfire," Slade seemed surprised when I said that and he got up and walked over to me.

"You brought back files?" he asked walking around me.

"Yes Master Slade."

"Good go get them," he said standing in front of me. "Then get some sleep you have a very long day tomorrow."

"Yes Master Slade," I said groaning inwardly I knew it he wanted to work me harder, even though I had come in a day before the deadline.

After giving Slade the files and pretended as I was getting ready for bed I slipped down to Mechanics room.

"Knock knock," I said pocking my head in his open door.

"Hey Blackwing," he greeted me happily closing his laptop, probably hacking another game, like father like son.

"Can I still go get that pizza with you?"

"Of course, but don't you have to report in to Slade?" he asked confused.

"Done."

"Handed over the Titan's info files?"

"Done."

"Dang you work fast Wing Girl."

"Thanks now let's go so I can get back before Slade does his mid-night check-in."

When he continued typing on his computer I threw an empty CD case at him, he continued typing with barely a wince as it bounced off his head and landed on the floor. I stepped back into the door way and the opening door caught his attention. As he quickly glanced, up then back to the screen. "If you're not coming I'm going alone and putting 10 pizzas on your tab."

"I'm coming, I'm coming," he said setting his laptop aside and getting up.

We where laughing our butts off as we walked up on the pizza place. I'd never realized how sweet and funny Mechanic was, he and I were so much alike. Why hadn't I ever realized it? Probably because I was so wrapped up in pleasing Slade and getting my homework done, that and the fact that Slade hardly ever let me out of his sight. We walked inside placed our order and sat at one of the tables outside, still laughing. I was in the middle of my favorite joke when the Titans walked up. I'd forgotten this was their favorite pizza place.

"I never did get your name the other day," Krow walked up and said

"Crystal, I don't remember getting yours either," I replied shooting Mechanic an apologetic look.

"Nice to meet you Crystal I'm," he said reaching down to shake my hand when I didn't accept he nodded to Mechanic. "And this is my new friend's….boyfriend?"

"Not boyfriend just good friend, and my names Jake," he said reaching up to shake Krow's hand, they shook hands and he walked off.

"You know him?" he asked glaring at Krow's back.

"Not really we sat at the same table at the coffee shop near Titan's Tower."

"Who is he?" Mechanic asked looking back at me.

"Look at Raven, then look at him, see the resemblance?"

"Ya, I do. So wait, that's Krow?" he asked sitting up straighter.

"Ya that's him."

"And you think he's hot." Mechanic said looking back at me with mischievous eyes.

"No I don't think he's that hot," I said almost laughing and noticing that Krow was listening to our conversation.

Our pizza arrived a minute later and we continued to laugh tell jokes and stories 'til about 10. The Titan's did the same even after we left. As we walked back to the H.I.V.E, we took a short detour through the park. It startled me a little when Mechanic took my hand and started swinging our hands as we walked. We got back to the H.I.V.E at 11:30, I quickly said thank you and took off at a jog for my room. When I got to my room, I entered quietly and got ready for bed. Slade came in right on cue, 12:00 exactly. Luckily, I was dozing because I am terrible at pretending to sleep.

The next morning Slade wasn't in his room when I got up, nor was he at breakfast. I was relieved when I got to the gym and he wasn't there, that meant I have to have my own workout. About half way through my uneven bar routine for gymnastics, I noticed Mechanic watching me.

"Needed a computer break?" I asked dismounting the bars.

"Coach says I need to work on hand-to-hand, I saw Slade wasn't here and figured you needed a partner to spar with."

"Ya that would be great come on I'll get us a sparring spot." I said walking past him grabbing my water bottle and heading for the sparring rings.

There weren't many other students at the rings when I got there so we pretty much had our chose of rings. While I waited for Mechanic, I threw a few punches at an invisible enemy, bouncing from foot-to-foot like normal. When Mechanic got there and we started sparring I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the longer we sparred with no winner or loser people stopped sparring and started watching. As the crowd grew, the students kept pressing closer, getting tired of this I threw a wild punch that Mech dodged and almost hit a kid in the nose. We got more room after that. We had been sparring about half an hour when Slade came in; I knew it was him because no one could break up a crowd of people like he could.

"Blackwing, I need you," he said catching my foot as I went to kick Mech.

"Yes Master Slade," I said breathing hard. I bowed to Mech and followed Slade out of the gym and back to our rooms.

We went into his room and he motioned for me to sit on the bed, obeying I watched as he went over to the closet and pulled something out from the back of the closet.

"I believe your father would have given you this on today," he said pulling out a box wrapped in black paper. Was that a hint of affection I heard in his voice? No, must have been my imagination I decided ripping off the paper, much to Slade's annoyance.

I discovered a new mask, along with a new suit and a few new gadgets. I went into my room and changed, keeping my hair hiding my face, knowing that Blood would check the cameras in my room to see who I was. I walked back into Slade's room to let him see, as well as to see for myself, Slade did not allow me to have a mirror in my room.

"Does it fit well?" he asked watching me look at the suit from all angles and load the new gadgets in my utility belt.

"Yes, much better than my old one, and I like the new mask, it's much more comfortable." I said turning back to him, admiring the color scheme, red with black trim and a black bird across the chest. My utility belt had always been red so it went well with this new suit.

"May I go test it out?" I said swinging my arms and stretching to see how well the suit adapted to my body.

"You may, but be back by five… thirty A.M.," he added seeing my face fall

"Tomorrow," he again added, I could hear the smirk in his voice.

"Thank you Master Slade," I said bowing and hurrying back to my room to grab my jetpack.

"But, don't forget we're leaving the city tomorrow and we won't be back for a while so don't forget anything."

"Yes master Slade," I said jumping out the window and revving my jetpack

Slade couldn't believe how much like her father she was; to bad, she hadn't developed some of her mother's power though, he thought staring after her until she became just a speck on the horizon.

Robin's P.O.V.

"My Red X suit is gone again," I said as I walked into the living room and sighing remembering the last time the suit had gone missing and what we had to do to get it back.

"Ya, and Slade is the one that stole it, I don't even know how he got into the tower," Cyborg said going through the Titans network.

"How did Slade get into the tower?!" Robin demanded spinning to face Cyborg.

"I don't know man but the mainframe's also been hacked and a bunch of basic info on us and all the other Titans are missing.

"We have another problem as well," Raven said walking into the room followed by BB and Krow.

"What now?!" Robin said turning to face them.

"Blackwing is on our roof again, and she's looking for a fight."

"I'm going," Robin sighed heading for the door the three had just come through.

"Hey Rob," the young girl greeted, "Like my new suit? My master gave it to me for my birthday," she said already getting into her fighting stance, that reminded me, today was my baby's birthday, as well as the 13 year mark for her disappearance, I winced, not meaning to recall that memory, it was unbearably linked to this day. I have to find my baby girl! I thought.

"Man, I know what you're thinking just duel her and maybe it'll take your mind off of this," Cyborg said laying a hand on my shoulder.

"Take you're mind off what?" Blackwing questioned giving us a curious look.

"My daughter disappeared 13 years ago today, she also turned two that day….. She'd be 15 today."

"Well that's a little weird, I turn 15 today."

I looked up sharply, could this be my baby? No, how could she be how many other girls where turning 15 today? Just because she was born, the same day doesn't mean she's my daughter.

"Earth to Robin, come in Robin," she said waving her hand in front of my face, when did she get so close?

"Sorry thinking your turn to strike first," I said taking position.

She didn't even move back just struck, hard and fast. It was hard to keep up with her at first, but then I found a rhythm and we settled into that rhythm, occasionally one of us would break rhythm to see if the other was still on their toes. At one point I noticed I had the advantage, she was breathing a bit hard and her movements where getting slower, so I pressed harder, and soon found that I had her at the edge of the tower. She went to take another step back and I grabbed her wrist just as she realized, there was nothing for her to step on except air.

"Give?" I asked, letting her lean just a little more over the edge of the tower.

"If I say no will you let me fall off the tower?" she asked, giving me a smirk, quoting my words.

I quickly let go of her wrist long enough for her realize I had then grabbed it again "You want to try me?" I asked smirking back at her."

The look of horror on her face was priceless, almost instantly one of amusement replaced it.

"Alright Rob I surrender," she said smirking, "but," she continued looking down and then over my shoulder, towards her jet pack I realized. "If you want to know who my master is you're going to have to catch me, especially since he won't be in town for a while to congratulate you and I'm leaving to join him right about… Now," she said hitting my hand, forcing me to drop her, but right as I went for her jet pack I saw, flames sprout from the bottom of her new suit. Jet boots, of course.

"Like the new boots? You can have the jetpack, I won't need it anymore peace out," she said saluting and speeding away.

I heard the Titans walk up behind me, quietly I noted.

"Rob you ok?" Krow asked putting a hand on my shoulder.

"I have to evolve with my enemy," I said spinning on my heel heading for a vault I hadn't opened in 13 years today.

Flashback

I was standing at the podium, listening to the people cheer as we celebrated my daughters 2nd birthday and I had announcement to make to the people, suddenly the H.I.V.E Five are there. I quickly take Krow from Raven, put him and Crystal, or Blue Jay in the police station, and run out to help the other Titans. For some reason in the middle of our fight, Gismo gives a signal and the Five take off. When I get to the police station Krow is crying and Crystal, my Blue Jay is gone. The Titans and I search the station, then the city she's nowhere to be found. When we get back to the tower two days after the start of our search there's a message from Slade. "I'd like to wish your precious daughter a Happy Birthday in person Robin but it looks like I won't be able to," his voice mocks. Even though you can't see it hidden behind the mask, you could hear the smirk in his voice. "I'd have thought you would have held on to the last of your family, besides Star Fire here, maybe if you had protected her better but looks like your all alone again. Poor, poor Robin." Then the message ends, I lock myself in my room for days not even coming out for food, locking away my Night wing suit where I vowed to leave it locked until I found my Blue Jay. The Titans found me trying to trace Slade's message the next morning and as usual, not being able to. The Titans followed my insane search across the country switching out so that there was always at least two Titans back at the tower to take care of the city. Finally two weeks later Cyborg told me what I'd been telling myself since that night, but denying it, "Rob, she's gone, we have to face that, I'm sorry man but, that's all there is to it."

Cyborg and Beast Boy had to drag me back to the T Ship kicking and screaming, by the time we got back to the city I was numb, and Raven told me Star had left about a week after I had gone searching and my already broken heart shattered. The next time the Titans saw me it was because I was stopping an idiot burglar from entering the tower through my bedroom window. By the looks on there faces I could tell they didn't recognize the person in front of them as I held the man by the neck out the open window, ready to drop him six stories to the ground. (A/N: I'm not sure if that's how tall it is I searched it and came up with confusing answers to me there's 6 stories above ground and 3 below if you don't think that's right you can look it up) "Easy Rob, you don't want to do that he's just a regular old thief, no need to go to extremes," Cyborg said diplomatically.

"Ya, Buddy just because he came in through your window doesn't mean you have to…..drop him," Beast Boy said with an uneasy chuckle.

"Don't do it Robin, he's not worth this, there's no need to kill him," Raven said always the blunt one, but it wasn't what she said it was how, as if she feared for my mental health. I realized what I was doing. I threw the man on the floor and glared out the window, "Get out, all of you get out," I growled. After that, things went back to normal, well normal if my baby hadn't been born. Until I got a picture of her, 'It's her third Birthday' I realized staring at the picture, she's smiling happily staring at a small cake with a big '3' candle in the middle. I got pictures of her every year. Until her 7th Birthday that was the last picture, I got. Every year a new picture with a new number candle on the cake. In the last one, she's smiling from ear-to-ear wearing a small utility belt and striking a Superman pose with the cake and lit number seven candle on a table next to her.

I punched in the numbers in the security door to my Night Wing suit as I snapped out of my flash back, I'd set the lock on a number I couldn't forget, the birthday of my baby. I quickly changed, finding the suit still fit, if not a little tightly. When I finished I ran for the roof the Titans found me half way.

"Wow Rob, nice suit," BB said looking be up and down.

"I'm not Robin anymore, I'm Night Wing," I said striding past them headed for the roof.

Once on the roof I grabbed Blackwing's jetpack and leapt off the tower. The only clue I had to her whereabouts was a general direction and I took off in that direction.
