Chapter Six

Meeting Sam

Thanks to his vast knowledge of the Underworld, Sam has been able to avoid the Underworlders so far, but he knows that will not last long. He was in an empty plant that use to make armor, hiding from the guards and trying to contact one of his friends.

"Come on! work." he yelled at his scanner. He stop massing with it and walked out the building. Staying in one spot for too long can be dangerous and since half the city was looking for him, he had to keep moving. Sneaking in a dark allay, he picks his head around a corner to see a busy street fulled with creatures going about their daily lives.

Looking across the street, he sees a hospital with creatures lined up at the entrance. Many were injured and looked sick. There were actually three entrances, but only one had the long line. Sam guess that one was meant to be the exit, because creatures were walking out instead of in and the third one creatures were walking in, but they looked healthy so he thought they must work there or are visiting.

His jaw drops when he sees a familiar creature exiting the hospital. It was Nivenna and she was not alone, there was a creature, Sam didn't recognise, but she looked somewhat like a Mipedian. He was not surprised to see Nivenna in Underworld City, what surprised him was that she looked much younger than the last time he saw her.

A theory began to form in his head. What if Kirvak Mound was a time portal like Dranikes Threashold. That would explain everything. Now that he has an idea of what happened, he knows he should port back to Chaotic, but where is the fun in that? If he really was in the past than why not do some exploring? Now that Dranikes Threashold is no longer around in the future there was no way for chaotic players to travel back in time that the Chaotic players know of. With a smirk, he runs off to explore Underworld City.

Nivenna was now back at her and Takinom's home, going over some work Kopon assigned her. To most creatures her age these problems would be impossible to solve, but not her. It only took her about half an hour to complete everything and now she had nothing else to do for today.

Someone begins to knock on the front door. "Hey, Nivenna! Your wanted on a mission!" yelled an annoying little green creature. Nivenna sighed, she hated missions with a passion. Even though she only went on a few, so far all of them were stupid and pointless to her. It was like Takinom gave her the ones that nobody else wanted.

She went to open the door, and sees H'earing standing outside with his usually grin.

"What mission are you talking about? Only Takinom is allowed to give me a mission and she is in Mipedian turf." she asked.

"I know, but Chaor has ordered all available troops to catch the Overworld spy that's running around the city. Chaor has more power than Takinom so you have to do what he says and also who ever catches the spy first will get a reward." he explained. Nivenna thought about it, she really didn't have a choice and if she did apprehend the spy than she will get a reward and Takinom might let her do more missions that are not a wast of her time.

"Fine I'll be out in a minute." she coldly said. She slammed the door in H'earing's face, now that he told Nivenna he left to go tell the other warriors about the mission. She quickly put on her battle suit and grabbed her mugic and whepcrack ( a whip that is on fire and gives a creature 15 power and 5 fire). She was now ready for action, but unlike the other soldiers, she is going to get a little help from a certain gang leader.

Sam was actually having fun running from the Underworlders. All day he has been able to out smart them and get away by using their own secret passages. Right now he is under Underworld City. It was some kind of sewer system, but instead of nasty water there was lava making the tunnels extremely hot.

He has been here before, but last time there was a gang that claimed this was their territory and he had to transport back to Chaotic. But that was in the future, so he thought they would not be here now, he was dead wrong.

As he walked around a corner someone hit him behind his head with a blunt object, making him pass out.

"Why are you dragging me down here?" asked an irritated Nivenna. She and Ladro`n were walking under the city in the lava filled sewer. Nivenna had gone to Ladro`n's home to ask for help in catching the Overworld spy, but instead of him getting his gang to do the work like she though he would, he said that would not be necessary and to fallow him.

"You asked me to bring you the spy that has been running around the city, while I know were he is and if you want him than you have to come get him." he said. Nivenna was surprise that he already know were the spy was at, but that didn't really explain why they were down here.

"You see Nivenna my gang and I are using these tunnels as short cuts and to hide if necessary. About two hours ago, an uninvited guest came down here so we had to capture him, because he was getting a little too close to where we hide some of our merchandise." he explained. Nivenna know the unexpected visiter must be the spy, either that or Ladro`n was wasting her time.

"So this guest of yours is the Overworld spy?" she asked.

"Yes and no." he replayed. Nivenna raised her eyebrow at his answer.

"What do you mean?" she asked. You could hear her losing her patients.

"We did capture the spy, but we don't think he is a Overworlder. We know he is not a Mipedian or Danian, but he just looks like nothing we have ever seen before." he explained. This puzzled her, Ladro`n and his gang have been to the Overworld many times to raid some villages, so they know very well what a Overworlder would look like.

They stopped in front of a metal door. Ladro`n knocked on it three times, waited for a second and then knocked three more times.

"Who is it?" demanded a male voice.

"It's Ladro`n your leader. Now open the door before I break it open." he ordered. The locks on the door were quickly unlocked and the door swung open. They past the guard, not even giving him a first glance and went straight to where the spy was being hold.

Nivenna couldn't help to notice that many of the gang members they passed were orphans from Sazo's house.

"I knew that there was some orphans in your gang, but there appears to be more than I thought." Nivenna commented. Ladro`n's smile grow wider.

"Yes, there were not that many of our brothers and sisters in this gang a few days ago, but now that I have taken control of it, they are leaving the other gangs and joining mine, but some are staying in the other gangs as part of my orders." he informed her. Nivenna couldn't belive so many of them would do such a thing. It was a well-known fact that many gangs in the Underworld don't take cannily to one of their members leaving. There was only one way out, Death.

"Why would they risk their lives to join your gang? They could die any minute when their former gang comes after them." she asked. Ladro`n lowered his head.

"It's been awhile since we planed something tougher, Nivenna. Don't worry they are safe no body will be able to touch them while I'm here. You know if you stop being Takinom's apprentice, abandon your rank in Chaor's army and come back to being apart of our old team then I can tell you what we are planing." he sadly said.

Nivenna hated when he brings that up. Yes, they and some other orphans had their small gang a long time ago. It really was not big enough to be called a gang there was only seven of them and all they did was steal some stuff they wanted.

"You know I won't do that." she told him.

"I know you won't, but I can dream can't I. Don't worry I will tell you later when the time is right." he said. She wanted to continue to asked about what they were doing, but before she could speak, they had arrived at the room where the spy was imprisoned.

As they walked inside, Nivenna's first thought was that he was so small and young. He was only about 5'9 ft tall maybe taller; it's hard to tell when he is siting down in a chair, chained up. Ladro`n was right about him not looking like a Overworlder, but she had no idea where he was from. The strange thing was that he was wearing their tribe symbol on his short.

"So, I guess you are going to take him to our boss now and collect the reward."

"No, first I want answers from him." she said.

The spy was still unconscious, so one of Ladro`n's henchman threw cold water on him. That woke him up.

"Where am I?" the spy asked. The fear in his eyes was easy to see, that was odd. Normally spies from any tribe would try to act brave in front of their enemies.

"You don't need to know that." Nivenna informed him." Who do you work for and why are you wearing our tribe's symbol?" she asked, crossing her arms.

Sam didn't know what he should do. Chaotic players are not going to be in Perim for at lest another year what if it some how changes the future by telling Nivenna about Chaotic.

"I work for no one and the reason I'm wearing the Underworld triable symbol is because I am a big fan of the Underworld." he truthful said. He was scarred the Underworlders are known for torturing their enemies. Nivenna shrugged her shoulders.

"Alright if you are going to make up ridicules lias than I might as well take you to Chaor and let him deal with you." she said, not caring anymore about what he was and why he was here. She walked towards him to untie him from the chair and drag him to Chaor's castle. Sam was scarred of what Nivenna would do to him, but he was terrified of what Chaor might do.

"Wait, I now where your sister is!" he shouted in fear. Nivenna stopped untieing him and looked at Sam with suspicion. Ladro`n did the same thing. Sam mental kicked himself for saying that. He didn't mean to, it just slipped out. It was the only thing he could say that would get Nivenna's attention.

"Which sister are you talking about?" Ladro`n asked. He and Nivenna had a lot of sisters back at the orphanage. Sam was confused at that, as far as he know Nivenna only had one sister and they would not have met yet.

"Aivenna, your twin sister." he answered hopping they would believe him.

"Nivenna does not have a twin sister. You are lying to us." said Ladro`n angry at the spy for making a lie like that. Nivenna didn't say anything, she thought about her dream and the other girl in the mirror.

"It is not a lie! Nivenna does have a twin sister named Aivenna and I know where she is at."

"Prove it!" Ladro`n demanded.

"Untie me and give me my scanner back and I can." said Sam looking at a table across the room that his stuff was on.

"What is a scanner?" asked Nivenna. Ladro`n growled and walked over to the table. He picked up Sam's red scanner and hold it up to where Nivenna could see it.

"This is what he calls a scanner. We took it out of his pocket whine we captured him." he told her. He walked back next to Nivenna and gave it to her. She studied it for a minute. She has never seen anything like it before, but it didn't look like a weapon so she thought it wouldn't hurt to let him have it for a few minutes. She handed it back to Ladro`n and began to untie the spy.

"What are you doing?" asked Ladro`n.

"Is it not obvious, I'm doing what he asked." She freed him from the chains and he was now standing up. Nivenna looked at Ladro`n. "Give him his scanner." she ordered him. His eyes looked back and forth at Nivenna and the spy, he didn't like this, his mind was telling him no, but his gut was telling him to trust Nivenna on this.

"Here, if you try anything I will make you hurt." he told the spy as he gave the scanner to him.

"Thanks, my name is Sam." he said.

"I'm Ladro`n and I guess you already know she is Nivenna, Takinom's apprentice." He told him.

Now that Sam has his scanner, he could easily port back to Chaotic, but porting back to Chaotic meant porting back to his time and he didn't get one scan from the pass. He probably already changed the future somehow, plus Ladro`n and Nivenna wouldn't just forget about this.

Oh, no they will hunt me down and probable torture me for tricking them, he thought. Might as well stay and hope I don't completely mass up the future.

He looked through his list of Overworld cards tell he fond what he was looking for. He held up his scanner to show them the picture of Aivenna fighting some M'arillians in the River Lands. Their eyes went wide the moment they saw it.

Nivenna felt sick to her stomach. There was no way that he could have a picture of a creature that she saw in her dream. She didn't even tell anybody about her let alone what she looked like, so he couldn't have made it.

"Where is she?" Nivenna demanded.

"She is in the Overworld possible in the Forest of Life training with Drabe to become an Overworld warrior." Sam told them.

Ladro`n looked at Nivenna to see what she thought of this information. She didn't say anything, her body was slightly shaking and her face was expressionless, but he could see anger, fear and shock all in one pair of green eyes.

Author's Note

I'm thinking about making another story about Nivenna's life in the orphanage before Takinom fond her stealing from Chaor.

Chapter 7 will be in the past a week after Nivenna became Takinom's apprentice.
