Soul Eater
Soul x Maka
Fresh Starts: Chapter 3
Two new characters! Wes Evans and Black Star!
Soul and Maka were at the park for a while, and they were on their way back to the motorcycle when Soul turned to her and said, "So, Maka.. I've got a question, but I don't know if you'll want to answer it.."
She looked up at him a little confused, and said, "What is it?"
"Well.. Why didn't you want the principal to call your dad? Wouldn't he help you out?" Maka stopped walking for a minute, and just thought about it with an expression that could strike through a heart.
Then she ran.
She ran away from Soul, who was terrified and calling her name frantically while running after her, and she left teardrops on the sidewalk behind her.
Eventually, after a few minutes of running, Soul was able to get close enough to her to grab the back of her shirt. She jerked forward from the sudden restraint and turned her head to look at him.
"Maka! Why'd you run?"
She just tried to pull herself away from him, but he held onto her tightly. He picked her up bridal style, and a thought crossed his mind that consisted of Maka as his bride, but he set that aside for later.
He carried her back to the motorcycle (they had passed it while they were running) and set her down on the back seat before getting in the front seat.
Soul pulled up in front of an apartment complex and parked the motorcycle. He didn't get off yet because he felt Maka laying her head on his shoulder. He heard her softly snore a bit, so he figured she was asleep. He carefully held her up while he got off before lifting her off the seat and putting her on his back. He held her knees on either side of is hips and started up a stairway.
He got to a door and knocked on it. A boy, a bit older than Soul, opened the door. "Soul, why are you here so late? Who's the girl?" He asked.
Soul waltzed inside and said, "Calm down, Wes. She's a friend from school, name's Maka. She doesn't have the best life at home, and I'm not letting her go back there. I just wanna help her out, okay?"
"Where's she gonna sleep, anyways?" Wes asked.
"My bed. I'll take the couch." And with that, Soul walked to his room and shut the door, ignoring his brother's ranting.
Soul was recalling all the events that had happened that day. It was 6:30, and they had missed dinner, so he decided to bring her a snack for when she woke up. He covered her up with a blanket and walked out to get a banana for her. As he pulled one off of the rest, the phone rang. He picked it up and the caller ID read "GOD." He sighed as he answered it, saying, "Hey, Black Star. What do you want? Homework? If so, I wasn't there for half the day."
The boy on the other line screamed, "No way, dude! And is that how you properly address the man who'll surpass God?!"
"If it's you, then yes."
"... So, anyways.. What're you up to? Can I come over and copy our English homework?"
"Nothing, no, and I said I didn't have it," Soul said, getting annoyed.
"Aw, why not? Fine, I just wanna play some video games.."
"I'm.. busy."
"Busy? What're you doing anyways?"
"..Stuff."
"What stuff? Is there a... Girl involved?" Soul could practically hear the smirk on Black Star's face.
"Yes.. But it's not what you think! She's actually.. uh.. suicidal. I don't want her to go back to her house, so she's staying with me for a while."
"Oh.. Well, don't bother going to school tomorrow! We're all skipping class to make her feel better, got it?"
Soul smiled at his friend's enthusiastic want to help others (occasionally). "Alright. See you tomorrow, dude."
"See ya!"
Soul put the phone back on the counter and started walking into his room when he remembered the red candle she told him about. He went back to the kitchen and searched the cabinet for a red candle. He managed to find one that wasn't almost gone, so he lit it and went to where Maka was sleeping.
He set the candle and banana down next to each other on the table and then sat down next to Maka's sleeping figure. He looked at her tear stained face. He then leaned over her and softly kissed the top of her head and whispered to her before leaving the room.
